Ward Churchill's Dubious "Scholarship"

AoSHQ contributor Dianna has penned an essay about Churchill's dishonest studies in non-history over at PirateBallerina. I'm particularly happy to hear he's a serial plagiarist:

.... LaVelle demonstrates for the reader the number of scholars whose work is distorted in Churchills work Patricia Nelson Limerick, Russell Thornton, Janet A. McDonnell and George M. Frederickson, to name only a few and lays out for side by side comparison a passage written by Churchill and one by Rebecca L. Robbins..... This is clear evidence of plagiarism, particularly since the passage in Churchill is not in quotes, and there is, furthermore, no citation of Robbins.

15 I like Ward the Beaver's use of "I will fight no more forever," since it is appropriate to have WC the fake Indian plagiarizing a real Indian (Chief Joseph)--he has plagiarized real Indian scholars and been caught doing it. But it might be funny to have him plagiarize the already fraudulent a d widely disseminated Chief Seattle speech that laments the loss of the buffalo (when the Seattle tribe subsisted on salmon) since WC is both a fraud and a plagiarist.

And his essay on Chickens Coming Home to Roost is a copy of the famous statements of Malcolm X about the Kennedy asassination. In his pik posing with the AK-47 he's holding it wrong (it could drop backwards out of his hand and spray him) and his beret and camo jacket look brand new, like he just bought them to pose for this picture. 35 Well, it does seem like the, "Chickens are coming home to roost" for Prof. Churchill, although in the world of academia these days anything can happen. But his transparent scholarship, character defects, and "sins" of the past seem to have caught everyone's attention. Churchill is one disturbed individual. I haven't read a similar "stream of consciousness" writing since T. McVey.
