"Well, at least we'll get back some of the blood money we've sent to Israel over the years, and besides, I'm sure there will be Zionist Neocon strings attached like invading Surinam."
As for the rest of the post and lack of condolences from the world: The world sucks. I'm guessing a lot of leaders figured we'd had it coming, just like 9/11. That meme is already floating out there. Hell, James Wolcott floated the idea last year, that fucker.

All for PR. Same with Israel.
In Israel's case, PR to remind Americans the secret arms sales to China were a 7 or 8 times aberration, there spy network in the US is really only there to find Americans in need of help, and the 3 billion welfare check from the US they "desperately need" can spare a few million being sent back to the US to help "Israel's special friend" with high visibility media attention on "Israeli rescue dogs" or some such thing.
Will Israel provide 300,000 per displaced NO Settler family, as they demanded the US give an additional 2.2 billion to compensate the Gaza squatters?
Hardly.
It's the old give a generous visible million (or a covert million to grease US politicians palms) in order to demand and get an additional billion or so or a new War to advance democracy in the ME later.
And the Canadian Red Cross already has resources crossing the Border.

Perhaps the offer hasn't been made through the proper channels yet, but considering the source I'd wait until the check clears before spending any of the money.

Most people with computers have sent Bill money without his house burning down...
BTW - Bush can't possibly be the anti-christ, because Gates already has the job...

Depends. Would I, ummm, be a suspect or anything?

...wouldn't mind feeling his wife either since she's a lot hotter than the hag I'm stuck with.

"We're the richest nation in the world by far and perfectly capable of helping our own. If a fire breaks out in Bill Gates house, you wouldn't expect a fund raiser to be started for him in the ghetto? "
From my comment on this thread yesterday:
"We're the richest nation on earth, we have the resources to handle this, and everyone knows that. This is not Malaysia. I mean, would you send money to Bill Gates if his house burned down?.
Hmmmm.

Still hmmmmm. I didn't read IMAO yesterday -- usually don't read it at all.

But at the same time I have to take exception:
"Israel does not have any particular expertise in battling floods,"
Hello? Moses anyone? Red Sea ring a bell? It could work.
Regardless of the full veracity of all the details of this story, thank you, from me at least, to our Israeli brethren for being our friend even when we may not have been the best of friends to you.
