The Story Behind The Names Of Sarah Palin's Children
— DrewM

Apparently Second Rate Kos Diarist Excitable Andi got everyone, well excited, when he posted an email wondering if two of Palin's kids were named after TV witches (Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Piper from Charmed).

Turns out, nope. Not so much.

One big problem is the origin of the name Trig. According to Palin's husband Todd, "Trig is a Norse name for "strength.""

"Norse"? As in Scandi?

trigpalin.jpg

Oh well, Trig is a cute little bugger so I think we'll let it slide.

This time.

It's envy.  Andy has a crush on Mr. Palin.

2

Also, the show for Buffy the Vampire Slayer premiered in 1997. (Yes, there was a movie before that; no, there was no "Willow" in it.) Willow Palin was born in 1994.

At least it ain't Gaelic, or CRETE!   OH! I hate people from crete, they are cretins, that should say it all.

5 Well, the baby is white. So he's a racist, of that we can be sure.

6 How come people don't name their kids ordinary names with ordinary spelling these days?  Example:  my niece is AYVAH (aka EVA).

Posted by: Denise at August 30, 2008 12:46 PM (Mt4OE)

7 Will David "cocksucker" Shuster query if Gov Palin is "pimpin her kids"?

Probably.

Posted by: Bart at August 30, 2008 12:47 PM (VDuLh)

8 So Angelina Jolie names her 143rd kid "Toilet Seat" and that's just too goddamn cool.

At least they didn't name one of the kids something weird, like Barack.

Leftard jerkwads.

11 They know they cannot attack Palin on substance.  So, they must instead pull this kind of crap, trying to stir up issues related to the strawmen Republicans they have created in their nefarious little minds.  They are seriously demented.

12 They sound like Joo names. As a Christian Evangelican, I don't think those intolerant Americans would ever vote for a Joo. I'm worried that McCain made the wrong pick in Palin.

Piper, Prou, Phoebe and Paige, were "the Charmed ones,"  They were the ones who were meant to oppose evil in the world, by banishing demons, and then rebuilding magical rule after the destruction of the previous ruling magical foundations.  Like the Elders, and the Avatars, maintaining an ignorant peace for humanity to go about their mundane lives.

DUH!  They were GOOD! they were the representation of Good as the charmed ones.

44

Joe,

I once described it as the Jetsons irony.

My parents weren't offered any promises about how great the future would be for everyone, they saw "the world of tomorrow," and realized that that was just for some people, but even "the world of tomorrow," didn't offer a jetsons like future.

My/our grandparents didn't think the good things in life were guarantee'd, they were the anomolous things created from hard work and effort, creativity and education, thats why we were able to win a war after suffering 100 times the number of lives in 2/3 the time we have been in Iraq.

My/Our parents, and grandparents had to become who they were on their own.

MY generation, I won't add the "our" because my bro is ALMOST my generation but far enough removed that he didn't suffer from it, and I don't know how old you are.

MY generation was raised on the promise of a push button society, a world where you take your "bloop bloop" aircar/flying fucking car, to work, and you pushed one button, and complained when you had to push it a second time.

MY generation is PISSED! that the lies told to us by the same people who are lying to us now haven't delivered on the push button society.  It's a childhood axiom, and it's validated by the nanny staters, and only those able to break the bonds of childhood dreams (like myself) are able to realize that the people who stunted their growth, their intellectual (actually intellectual, as in understanding things that make things better, like engineers and scientists and shit sort of intellectual) maturity has been stunted by false promises, by blatant lies, and an attempt by people much less intelligent than my modest family, to control the thoughts and efforts of others, so that they might secure power for themselves.

48 I think Trig should be "Eddie" or "inferno" because of the van halen reference.

Posted by: wickedpinto at August 30, 2008 02:08 PM (ul7te)

49

I'm impressed that the Palins took the test, looked the results in the eye, and went ahead and had Trig anyway.  It takes a pair to face that future and take that obligation on.  That said we know a couple of people who had children with Down's Syndrome some 25 years ago.  They didn't "take the test" and they accepted what came to them.  There's a day to day courage that's required, but the kids, now young adults are sweet and good natured.

I'm also impressed that Cindy McCain saw some kids in an orphanage in Bangladesh that needed surgery and probably weren't going to make it--if they stayed in Bangladesh. So she brought one of them back to the States  for one of her friends, and then told her husband "Here's your new daughter" with the other.  I don't know about John--but Cindy has a big clanging pair as well.

McCain's Bangladeshi daughter grew up to be just fine--and I suspect that the Palins and Trig will find a way for Trig to have a good life.

I don't know why some people need to be such crapweasels. Andy Sullivan and the clowns over at Daily Kos ought to get over it.

It's even worse!

I have recently learned that Sarah Palin is actually the former "Sarah J. Connor"- and is also the mother of the current "Human Resistance" leader named Track Palin!

Apparently, she moved to Alaska when she was 2-and completely dropped off my radar while I was "attempting murder" "barebacking".

What can I say about Sarah?

I get two shots of testosterone a week attempting to ameliorate my AIDS dementia- and I'll completely deny that she signed a bill granting state workers "civil union" benefits- when she consulted the AG for a decision about 'constitutionality'.

Willie Pete would be fine with me. Any reason you like that one better...wp?

Either of those would probably piss off a lot of people if it got out, but on the plus side, it would piss off all the right people.

Unknown about the two word monikers. Seems that they'd be a liability in on-air use though.

How about Ronson? Has several WWII connotations (unfortunately, one of them is rather bad, the M4 Sherman), but it's just a thought. Originally thought of Zippo for the same reasons, but discounted it because it just sounds goofy.

Well, children of liberals (those that didn't get aborted) are special children that are being raised to bright light to the world.  Children of children are the spawn of Satan, because, well, because their parents are the servants of Satan.

I don't know, but can you imagine Lefty heads exploding if Bush had suggested this?  I have a Marxist friend I drive crazy by saying that I wouldn't mind having the Cuban form of government if George Bush (well, I'd prefer Fred Thompson, since Reagan is dead) were in the Fidel position.  It makes him spit and sputter and almost have apoplexy.

81 I didn't have amnio either - just ultrasounds.  Because I'm old and am apparently having a gigantic baby.  The amnio test for Downs has a high rate of false positives. I've heard too many stories (and know a few personally) about people who were told they were having a Downs baby and when the baby is born - surprise - no Downs.  So when they say 90% of all Downs babies are aborted, you got to wonder how many weren't really a Down baby.

Trig is awesome.  That kid needs a hat with horns.

84 These lefties really are sick bastards. Alan Wolfe is telling New Republic readers that Sarah Palin named her kids after witches? Someone explain to me how the libel law protects the New Republic from paying damages on that one.

NO SHE DID NOT ABORT HER BABY...GOOD FOR HER

BUT...SHE HAS ABSOULTELY NO ATTACHMENT TO THE BABY...NOR DOES HER HUSBAND.

THE BABY HAS DOWN SYNDROME...SHE WAS BACK AT WORK THREE DAYS AFTER GIVING BIRTH TO TRIG

ONE OF HER CHILDREN...WAS HOLDING THE BABY WHILE THEY WERE SEATED...AND THEY SHOWED ANOTHER SHOT OF THE BABY AND ONE OF HER CHILDREN WAS STANDING UP HOLDING THE BABY.

I DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE HUSBAND DID NOT HOLD THE BABY....I DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY SHE DIDN'T HOLD THE BABY

WHEN I FOUND OUT SHE WENT BACK TO WORK THREE DAYS AFTER HAVING IT....I BEGAN TO UNDERSTAND....SHE HAS NOT ATTACHMENT TO TRIG

TRACK....OLDEST SON....NAMED FOR MOOSE TRACKS...EVERYONE KNOWS SHE LOVES MOOSE MEAT

TRIG...SHE PULLS THE TRIG-GER TO SHOOT THE MOOSE.....ALONG THE MOOSE TRACKS

PALIN....ALTHOUGH SHE HAS SEVERAL KIDS...SHE IS NO SOCCER MOM

SOCCER MOM'S ARE THERE FOR THEIR KIDS

I CAN'T BELIEVE A MOM WOULD HAVE A CHILD WITH SPECIAL NEEDS AND THEN GO BACK TO WORK THREE DAYS AFTER GIVING BIRTH

THE REAL QUESTION HERE IS....WHAT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT....IS TAKING CARE OF TRIG....WHILE SHE IS AT WORK....DUH?

OR... ARE THE OTHER CHILDREN....CARING FOR TRIG....WHILE MOM IS AT WORK?...AND THEY ARE BEING HOME SCHOOLED?

AND BY THE WAY...WHAT IN THE HELL COULD BE SO PRESSING IN ALASKA....THAT WOULD MAKE A MOTHER OF A DOWN SYNDROME BABY RUSH BACK TO WORK....THREE DAYS AFTER GIVING BIRTH...?

DID SHE RUSH BACK TO WORK THREE DAYS AFTER...BECAUSE SHE KNEW IN ADVANCE THE KID HAD DOWN SYNDROME...AND SHE WANTED NO ATTACHMENT TO IT?....REPORTS STATED THAT SHE KNEW SHE WAS HAVING A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD...SHE DELIVERED THE CHILD AND... RUSHED BACK TO WORK...THIS WAY SHE WOULD NOT HAVE ANY ATTACHMENT TO THE BABY.

SHE IS IN THE STATE OF ALASKA...YES...ALASKA....THERE IS NOTHING THAT PRESSING IN THE STATE OF ALASKA REQUIRING A MOTHER TO GO BACK TO WORK THREE DAYS AFTER GIVING BIRTH....AND ESPECIALLY AFTER GIVING BIRTH TO A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD....

I DON'T THINK HILLARY CLINTON SUPPORTERS WILL SEE PALEN AS A WOMAN OF FAMILY VALUES.....NO WAY...NO WAY

88 Hey Bitch!

Running the state of Alaska is pretty fucking important. Not like your job where the most pressing thing you do is ask if they want ketchup with their fries, eh?

Also, Gov. Palin  took her baby to work with her. There are numerous photos of Gov. Palin wearing one of those baby slings. She also breast feeds her son.  Sounds pretty attached to me.  Unlike you, we don't define "attachment" as murdering a baby in utereo or like Obama, leaving a baby to die unattended in a closet. Now, that's unattached.

By the way, what kind of fucked up name is "melly"?   Oh, I get it ... Melly's  short for Mellaril, a brand name of an antipsychotic used to treat schizophrenia. Explains a lot about you.

90 cranky-d says, "They know they cannot attack Palin on substance." (post #11). WRONG!! read this article: http://www.alternet.org/blogs/peek/97081/palin_laughs_as_opponent_is_called_bitch_cancer_mocked_for_her_weight/ Now what do you think about her substance? I wouldn't want to be around a person like that, much less have her helping to run our country!

92 Clearly, Palin can't have it both ways.  The office of Veep carries with it tremendous pressure, responsibility, and international travel. She's definitely not up to it.  She was asked just weeks ago about the Vice Presidency and her idiotic comment was "I don't even know what the Vice President does".  Is this someone we want to be a "hearbeat away from running this country" and having to deal with international leaders.  Yikes!  That's really frightening.  Add to that the probability that this will happen - with John McCain's invasive melanoma (Stage 3 for which there is no cure with a life expectancy of 65%/10 years and he's now on year #8, I'd say it's a very strong probability that this uneducated, inexperienced woman will be placed in that position.

All I can say is, if she is it will be time for every american to get the hell out of this country.  That would be something straight out of a horror movie.

Picture this bouffant airhead dealing with Kim Jung Il about nuclear proliferation or negotiating with Iraq's Prime minister....are you kidding me??

This is a typical McCain "flake" stunt. His final screw job on all of the Republican contenders, republican members of congress, and the current administration for what Bush did to him in the primaries of 2000.  It's "payback time" McPappy style.

93 Let's face the real facts here:  Being "mayor" of a town of less than 5,000 qualifies it to be dubbed "podunkville" (did you see the strip mall it is located in?) AND now having just over a year of experience as Governor of a state which is like living in outer mongolia hardly is the type of experience of governors of states like New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan or Florida.  It's "lalaland" in comparison.  Add to that the fact that her own representatives and the Anchorage Newspaper have said that she's wrecked that state and left the town of Wacilla in mountains of debt due to her land dealing with a money man by the name of Lundgren.  (more to be heard about him and his possible campaign contributions and ties to the corruption that went on with Palin's sports complex later).  Her "bridge to Nowhere" lie is catching up to her already and it's only been 2 days since she was introduced......"troopergate" will nail her butt to the wall for abuse of power, and there's a new firing of police chief and library manager for political purposes which has reared it's ugly head.  There will be more....much, much more.  As I've said, this is only Day 2 and the media is digging under every possible rock and they've already unearthed things which are very unsavory about her management style and potential complicity with corruption.

Sadly, she's so inexperienced that on the intellectual level she's what's known as the "unconscious incompetent" - that is, she "doesn't know that she doesn't know" aka:  ignorance is bliss.  She's being blindsided by things she hoped would not be unearthed and she's in it deep already.  She's going to be torn to shreds by the wolves and the media, I'm afraid and she won't even realize it's happening.  It's pathetic in a sad sort of way.

100 What kind of person would take the responsibility of running the country, while sacrificing motherhood to a special child ... that's what we are dealing with here folks... a cold hearted woman with one thing in mind -becoming veep- at any cost. So she didn't abort the baby, instead she chose to cast him aside and do something more interesting ..... her priorities as individual, as woman, as mother and as veep as fucked up. What would people say if this was Michelle Obama's family : 5 kids, one of them 17 and pregnant .... they would have certainly criticized her and say " we don't want this morals in the white house..."

Nice articles, but I am not clear about the point you mentioned about how to distinguish fake and real cheap louis vuitton.

You seem to be professional about louis vuitton, can you advise where to buy real louis vuitton bags?

I’d love to discuss louis vuitton outlet, but I am not sure if you really have one.
