The Fascinating Foreign Policy Ideas of Joe Biden
— Ace

This, I think, will be one of the most-quoted statements of Biden's appearing in Republican ads.

Democratic ads? Not so much.

Just after 9/11:

At the Tuesday-morning meeting with committee staffers, Biden launches into a stream-of-consciousness monologue about what his committee should be doing, before he finally admits the obvious: “I’m groping here.” Then he hits on an idea: America needs to show the Arab world that we’re not bent on its destruction. “Seems to me this would be a good time to send, no strings attached, a check for $200 million to Iran,” Biden declares. He surveys the table with raised eyebrows, a How do ya like that? look on his face.

Captain Ed explains why this is stupid, in case you need edification on that score.

Big bonus points to this self-declared genius (who graduated 76th in a law class of 85) for his self-satisfied, "check me out" look after making this ridiculous proposal.

All that 'experience' and he doesn't know the difference between Arabs and Persians?  Oy.

Someone else here nailed Joltin' Joe perfect: he's a dumb-ass that's convinced himself he's the smartest guy in every room.

This is going to be a hoot.

5 An old favorite quote from George Orwell;
"a time came when stuffed shirts /... / could stand out as men of exceptional talent. As for Baldwin Biden, one could not even dignify him with the name of stuffed shirt. He was simply a hole in the air."

6 Only $200M?  Piffle, a flaccid insulting gesture at best.  Toss in Kuwait and the UAE and we'll talk.

7 ...send, no strings attached, a check for $200 million to Iran...

correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall something about a payment to a Muslim overlord being called a jizyah (sp?).  doesn't this sound similar? <sarc off>

8 ...and then he added, "Let's fly this up the flagpole and see who salutes," like he just made up that nifty quip.

9 I thought Biden's foreign affairs expertise peaked when he went on fox News and described live on the air the best way to slip a knife through GI body armor...

10 Leave aside for the moment the inability to distinguish Arabs from Persians.

Is Mr. Biden aware that we've sided with Arabs in 11 out of the last 12 conflicts in which they were involved?

11 "Plugs" Biden - A legend in his own mind

12 200 million , is that what it costs to shoot nuclear tipped cruise missiles these days ?
Seems reasonable to me. I say we send about 5 billion worth to the mullah's as soon as possible.

13 The roots on those plugs have penetrated into his brain.

14 $200M may not be enough, after all Iran provided secure room and board for 444 day to a rather large group of American citizens.

15 So when McCain is elected and leads us into war with Iran or China, will the liberal left even stop to consider that they basically pushed America into not being able to vote for a Obama-Biden ticket?
