Don't expect any MSM coverage unless men and women are donning pink tiaras.
btw, did anyone think to hire inflatable-ballbag guy? Cameras practically follow that dude.

They did the same shit when Obama came over here to the high school to announce his irresponsible borrower bailout plan. Paper said there was 150 ppl. Actually, more like 500-1000. Just checked the local rag website & I didn't see today's Tempe Tea Party under "Things To Do" this weekend.....
I'm sure the pics from the Tempe gig will be, er, interesting. About 85 degrees in the sun here today. Maybe a 60 ft. tall half-dressed MILF will be featured?

people came and went from ours. like i stated previously, "official" count was 600. people were coming and going with about 400 at any one time. rather rough time to do it - lunchtime on a weekday - and threat of cold rain, suppressed turnout.

I was so bummed I couldn't make it to the St. Louis rally. Damn job in West County. >
But I am glad so many people showed up in force despite the cold!!!

Meh. Who the hell has time to protest at 9:00 in the morning on a Friday? Don't you people work?
Otherwise, I probably would have went down to Dailey Center, if only to troll for cute libertarian chicks.

Pretty good turnout, though none of us knew how to scream unintelligibly, and everyone appeared to have bathed today. We also obeyed the traffic lights.
Also, there were no giant papier mache dolls or stoned drummers.
C'mon, conservatives are new at this stuff.

,My parents went to the one in Tulsa; they said it was 400-500 at the peak. I mention them because they are in the pix on Instapundit; my dad's the guy front and center in the denimn jacket and my mom is the tiny shadow in a black parka next to him.
I was at work (okay, checking blogs) when I saw that. Very odd to see one's parents unexpectedly on Instapundit.

In regard to the Seattle tea party, the alternative weekly newspaper blog in Seattle has a post up trashing the protest, the comments are as you can imagine from that source. But I thought this one was just too precious not to share with you morons:
By signing on as a US citizen, you're buying into a social contract; therefore, everyone's mortgage IS everyone else's problem on some level. As pissed as I am that a LOT of other people made bad decisions that affect my ability to be hired, you can't just be a fair weather taxpayer. That's how the security net system works.
Stupid tea party protesters, get on board with the social contract you signed as a US citizen, it is your PATRIOTIC DUTY to be taxed to take care of your fellow citizens.
I am beating my head against my desk and thinking very bad thoughts about young shrill urban douchebag enviro hipsters and their fucking social contracts.

eh. I could've gone to one if I wanted to drive like 5 hours or so.
Three hours, and I would have had to drag 3 children along. On a weekend, or when I had time to stay in the big city for a while (which would make it easier for the kiddos), I'd like to do it.

I've been looking online, but I haven't found if they're planning a tea party for Boston. C'mon, man - we had a tea party before it was cool!
And slightly OT, but I find Joe the Plumber inexplicably hot. I'd totally hit that.

Well, the ACLU was getting people to sign petitions across the street from the Tea Party today (in Seattle). I didn't ask what it was about, but assumed it was their big push here for the "rights" of illegal aliens.

I went to the DC event. It was awesome, except you'd think that some of the elected officials from Capitol Hill could have bothered to show up, but I attribute that to this being early, not necessarily organized like a well oiled machine yet, but that will resolve itself.
As for MSM coverage, Atlanta Journal Constitution covered theirs. I remember counter protesting the anti-war jerks a few February's back and the MSM looked the other way then too, underestimating our crowd that vastly outnumbered the smelly hippies by 5 to 1. But. We'll have to go all code pink on Washington, act up in Congress, perhaps, out Saul Alinsky them.
One last point before an anecdote. April 15th is tax day and they want to have another Tea Party which should be massive and unavoidable by the MSM. Plenty of time to organize, get your local conservative heavies in the media, print or radio to promote it, time to get the conservative politicians on board, etc. And it is a work day, but it's important to remember that the founders sacrificed their fortunes and lives to form this wonderful country, not just a few hours of personal leave. Do you believe that our country is worth fighting for or not? A few hours or even a day off isn't too much to ask to voice your opposition to this runaway socialist freight train, is it?
Now, the anecdote. The front of the White House is always a zoo of nutty protestors, including a group of saggy old hippies in orange jump suits and black bags over their heads, chained together doing their best Abu Ghirab shuffle. (yeah. they didn't get the memo that the iraqis run AG now, morons) When they left the event one of our older ladies was badgering and heckling them, hollering 'Hey you in the orange jump suits. Did the DC correctional facility let you out to pick up trash??? Start cleaning this place up, you deadbeats!!' It was absolutely hilarious.

there is a "tea bag congress" movement, totally! thousands of us are sending letters with an enclosed tea bag (preferably used and dried so they can't make free tea) ...send them so they arrive at offices of congress exactly on April 15th. Send on april 10th or 11th if by regular snail mail, or put a bunch of them in a priority mail envelope and send two days before. Let's fill a freaking mack truck with this shit and have it roll up on Nancy and Harry on tax day!

I heard on Rush today that the tax tables will not change next year, so that $13 a week you get back this year is "added income" which you will be taxed on next year. And you won't be able to pay it back to the IRS at $13 a week but in a lump sum.
Obama is a lying thug whore.

Whoever organized the Tea Party on a Friday morning should be fired.
That's just fucking stupid.
Get up early on Saturday morning, meet with your friends, stage the event, have brunch and enjoy the fruits of your labor!
You're welcome.
