— Ace A truncated three-day convention.
And they have fucking better things to air than the highlight speakers.
Talking to Democratic politicians. And talking about Bristol Palin.

Fricken media does not like Fred Thompson!
True fact about Fred Thompson:
If Fred Thompson got pregnant with Levi Johnston's baby it'd be on page 16.
IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE.

PBS - I am watching there. They showed ALL of the special videos for the Democrats. Part of one tonight.
And the Republicans they get to talk about the convention? Michael Gerson and Christine Todd Whitman? Things that make you go hmmm.

Once, every few years, the networks run an ad indicating that their FCC licence is to be reviewed, and the public is invited to comment.
IIRC, the ad is usually run during the local news. most frequently after 10:00PM.
Wait and watch for it. When you see it, follow the instructions, and comment to the FCC.
Tell the FCC how your local channel ran the entire DNC, yet missed the most RNC speakers. Tell them how this constitutes a political endorsement, real political bias, a public disservice, and general tampering with the political process and election.
Doubtless, they will claim that they ran only what they were given, but this is doubtfully true; they have much influence with the major networks. Besides, we all know that stations send reporters to cover events elsewhere, we've seen this many times.
Try to get them shut down; no licence, no broadcast and no broadcast, no revenue.
Doubtless they will claim that they should be given another chance, that this won't happen again. We know the truth. Push hard. Even if they are not shut down, the realization that there are people who will force the issue will force them to try for some sort of balance.
Don't forget their local advertisers, and very large advertisers.
If you can get your local station to do balanced reporting, then you might have to support them when others try to shut them down. This is the American way.

I'm glad I tuned it in on PJTV. I was even able to pause and listen to some parts again if I liked. Some commenters said "Where was this Fred Thompson during the primaries?" ......he was there, getting the same kind of treatment from the MSM that he got tonight.

Both parties nominated the candidates the media favored, not the best ones. So it may be that we have vested the power to elect in a very small group of radical socialists who also happen to be reporters and columnists.
But we have beaten them before for several reasons, not the least of which is their constant over-the-top partisan wailing which not even the candidates would attempt.
Boomerang on them it will again.

Media bias from three big networks? Shocking... not. Of course, the reason is obvious - Fred really ripped into Obama. Excellent job, Fred.
Also, one wonders if these broadcast pinheads will even air McCain's speech.

You think that's bad? Try listening to NBC announcers at a NASCAR event.
Condescending pricks... they have to explain everything to the audience like they're talking to preschoolers.

Which is why the nets didn't show the speech: they are AFRAID to let the electorate get to know McCain. They are AFRAID to let anything through unfiltered.

Liebs is the original PUMA
Fred was great defending Palin
The networks suck for not showing the speeches

The delegates have more freedom of expression than those at the DNC.
They were listening.

You get to say a big "fuck you" to their revenue model.
Download a torrent client. Find a site like EZTV. Set the RSS downloads to get the shows you want; your computer is now a (much better) DVR.
End result, they go the way of the dodo and you get to watch your favorite shows guilt free until they crash and burn.
Might sound inane to some of you but as Agent Smith said, "That's the sound of inevitability."

Gee Keith could you fill us in on the whole Cheery Tree story while you're at it.
At least we didn't have to watch him suck Rachael Maddow's cock tonight.
I do love the way everyone, starting with Chris Matthews, then Gregory and Harold Ford pretty much just ignore what Olby led in with and made their own comments. The extra long pause first from Chris was especially precious.
And yeah what the hell is up with Kondracke? Kristol nailed him basically, Mort isn't usually that buffoonish.
Posted by: Rocks at September 02, 2008 06:36 PM (7rbe9)
from that Post story:
Others, he said, have asked whether Palin's eldest son, Track, who serves in the Army and is deploying to Iraq, is a drug addict. "Categorically false," Schmidt said, adding: "This is crazy."
Posted by: Jones at September 02, 2008 06:37 PM (KOkrW)
Fucking Kondracke on FOX just asserted that McCain really wanted Lieberman, not Sarah. Fuck you, mind-reading Mort.
Well I suspect that McCain really did want Lieberman over Palin. But Mort's was just being a partisan prick when he declared that Palin was far to the right of normal Americans. Normally I consider Mort to be fairly moderate and even tempered analyst, but he seems to really despise Sarah Palin.

Rove told Chris Wallace he'd have put on Thompson last - his red meat would put off Dems and they'd turn the channel. By skipping the red meat they may have inadvertently held more viewers for Lieberman. Rove's so in their heads they'll never get him out.

Equal Time Rule: The equal time, or more accurately, the equal opportunity provision of the Communications Act requires radio and television stations and cable systems which originate their own programming to treat legally qualified political candidates equally when it comes to selling or giving away air time. Simply put, a station which sells or gives one minute to Candidate A must sell or give the same amount of time with the same audience potential to all other candidates for the particular office.
In other words, if Letterman wants to have Obama (or any Democrat) on his show 3 nights a week, he needs to put on their counterpart for 3 nights a week, otherwise it gives, say, Obama, an advantage of unfair exposure.
What the Fairness Doctrine want to do is punish Rush Limbaugh for having a huge audience. The proponents of FD think that Limbaugh having 20 million listeners tuning into his conservative talk show, the government should either provide the Leftwing a microphone and a 20 million=person audience or silence Rush Limbaugh.
Furthermore, the FD could extend to anyone who the government deems politically partisan. All private enterprises and all individuals in business will be at risk for some sort of government regualtion, i.e., 1st amendment infringement or government-installed competition.

Nuts. They'll destroy anyone. Obama's gets a pass on a 20 year association with a racist, America hating church, Farakhan links, courtship of Weatherman terrorists, Chicago politics and corrupt slumlords - and Palin gets buried in this pety bullshit over the course of a few days.
It isn't right, but they're probably going to get away with it.

Posted by: wiserbud at September 02, 2008 07:00 PM (L6xbC)
And that's a short list. We haven't even talked about the obvious narcissism, drug use, complete lack of platform for months, selection of a guy who nullifies his entire campaign, etc, etc. Then there's Biden - lobbyists, big mouth, plagiarism, outright lies regarding his upbringing.

It's a pretty safe assumption.
And reporters are obviously happy with that assumption, because they're doing fuck-all to counter it. Like, for example, exercising a little common decency, honesty or even just not being complete leftist douchebags.
The severe collusion among reporters here actually threatens the First Amendment. When you gather in j-schools and newsrooms to push out opposing ideas, you're attacking the civil rights of people who simply have different opinions.
No wonder they talk about censorship so often, they've worked so hard to become experts on the subject.
The contempt I have for the journalistic "class" is truly beyond expletives.

The RNC needs to tighten up a bit. The camera view from NBC constantly showed tons of empty seats over by the left side of the stage. Sure no one would sit in those seats because they're behind the stage but you just don't let empty seats be shown on TV for an event that is supposed to be big and important. The RNC should have had something to cover that up. I bet we see lots of photos at angles that show those seats in the background.
Well there was this thing called a hurricane hitting several states. I'm betting most of those delegations aren't at the convention. It would likely be impossible to cover up any of those empty seats, especially with really little notice. I bet the MSM has tried to incorporate those areas into their shots as much as often.
