— Ace A judge nearly issues him a warrant when he doesn't show up for his appearance on time.
The lawyer claims he couldn't find the courthouse. Oh yeah, sure. Why would a lawyer know where the courthouse was.
More stuff at the link. Prosecutors seem more intent on punishing this guy than at first it seemed (perhaps because of the attention the case got).
Also, you will be shocked this lawyer has been disciplined before:
In addition to being disciplined for being involved in a scheme to forging documents, it has been reported to CLR that attorney Jay Robert Grodner has since then engaged in a conflict of interest with his clients, has abandoned his clients, has engaged in false billing, has engaged in a fraud upon his clients, provided ineffective assistance of counsel, and has engaged in a "fraud upon the court".
What a dick.

Oh, the warrant was issued.
A friend of mine was in the court room. After the hearing, he overheard another lawyer call Grodner from the waiting area and tell him that he better get his ass down there.
Grodner then showed up and groveled, stating that he got stuck in traffic and now needs representation -- oh, the irony. The judge was not impressed.
Sgt McNulty does not have to reappear at this point and Grodner is now facing the full weight of the original charge, which he could have settled and the Cook County State's Attorneys office has taken an "interest" in the case.
A good day.

Also,
Grodner was punished before when he was three months a member of the bar as an assistant state's attorney and took place in round tabling petitions for an amendment to the Illinois Constitution (I've got the cite somewhere, it's just way late). He was then suspended for six months, yet still listed the three months before the Illinois Supreme Court censured and suspended him as experience on his web site -- until it crashed yesterday.
Perfect example of a scumbag.

Heh.
And, you REALLY don't want to click on THIS link. Seems Mr.Grodner is a bit lonely and has hit the online dating scene.
The link may be somewhat safe for work, but unless you like shirtless, extremely hairy, over weight, older Jewish guys -- don't click.

Later in his extended profile, he adds to his "I love sex" pitch: "Someone needs to act." Yeah, someone needs to hop to and jump right on that. Ugh.

Great work, Mesablue.

it true what they say, mesablue can be your best friend or your worst enemy.
Hope the good counselor really enjoys that "wild sex", cause it looks like Cook County is fixing to break that bitch.

Oh, and as for another slim-ball lawyer not to use in Rogers Park, his name is Tom Westgard. He's much in the same mold as our mutt Jay. A real turd. All these tree-huggers follow slime-ball Alderman Joe Moore.

It's nice to imagine that the good counselor will soon be weighing the relative merits of jelly or syrup, but how likely is it, really?
Don't lawyers pretty much take care of each other?

Bravo, this douche (please tell me douche isn't banned I don't want to live in that world) is feeling the heat for exactly one reason - the attention this case has gotten in this and similar blogs. This guy needs
public humiliation (check)
criminal prosecution (check)
to be sued in a civil action (hopefully)
and to lose his law license (hopefully)

You know, I was going to say "to be fair, there are an awful lot of courthouses in Chicagoland".
Then it occurred to me that I have absolutely no desire to be fair to this shitstain.

I'd guess enough of your shyster cohorts to agree you need to find another way to make a buck. Judging by the cites in Craig's place - that point has yet to be reached.
