Eh. He says it "ironically," as a jab at Pat Robertson, but still, what the eff?

In 1998, Republican icon Pat Robertson warned that hurricanes were likely to hit communities that offended God. Perhaps it was Barbours memo [downplaying the global warming threat from fossil fuels] that caused Katrina, at the last moment, to spare New Orleans and save its worst flailings for the Mississippi coast.

Moonbats are allowed to say these sorts of things, you know. From "What Would Jesus Drive?" to announcing that God doesn't like the Iraq War -- you are allowed to invoke God as a political actor without catching media heat, so long as you do it from the liberal side of things.

You think the Holy Trinity is a mysterious concept to grasp? Try this one: God doesn't exist, but He supported Gore in 2000, and He's still really pissed off about that Supreme Court ruling. He also watches Current TV.

3 The really funny thing is that the MIT scientist he relies on to blame Katrina on global warming...says that Katrina should not be blamed on global warming:

Professor Kerry Emanuel of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology also claimed, less than a month ago, that ocean surfaces had become warmer, which doubled the destructive potential of tropical storms in the past 30 years.

But he said that Monday’s storm “is part of a natural” cycle of powerful Atlantic storms that have struck since 1995. He told The Independent: “I don’t think you can put this down to global warming.”

5 I remember the liberals throwing an absolute fit - justifiably - after Pat Robertson, shortly after the planes hit on 9/11, claimed that the terrorist attacks came about because God had withdrawn his protections from the United States for its tolerance of abortion-on-demand, gay marriage and general immorality and licentiousness. Wonder if they'll demand RFK, Jr's (figurative) head for making the same sort of argument?

7 My ex is a few miles north of Ocean Springs, which looks like a soggy Hiroshima. I spent from Jan '03 to the present praying for something awful to happen both to her and that asshole she married instead of me. Now the casino they work at is on the wrong side of the high-water line and the general wrath of God (or in this case perhaps Poseidon) has hit the whole area.

8 I'm sure there's no connection, but does anyone know what was scheduled to happen in New Orleans starting tomorrow and running all weekend? An annual homosexual festival called "Southern Decadence", which had been held for the past 33 years! Of course with the city flooded, they've cancelled it.
You'd think at least ONE of the networks or MSM rags would have reported this by now. But of course, that would be...politically suicidal.
