— Open Blog After weeks of pushing congress to pass his "economic stimulus" package immediately, in order to avoid the inevitable financial meltdown inaction would bring, President Obama has decided to delay signing the bill until Tuesday so he can enjoy a weekend home in Chicago with his wife
Un-Freakin' Believable. This bill had to be printed in the middle of the night and be voted on the next day before anyone could actually read it because it was so freakin' important, but the savior can't take 5 freakin' seconds out of his schedule to sign the damn thing.
Good to know our President has the best interest of the country at heart.
On the plus side he thinks Air Force One is a "spiffy ride" so I guess that makes up for everything.
Clarification: I don't want him to sign the bill it's just that his selfish irresponsibility burns my ass.

Nothing the Obama's do surprise me. I knew this was going to happen, I'm just waiting for the rest of the country to catch on, which may not happen since most of them were educated in our public school system. I am a graduate of that system, but I also was an avid reader and expanded my knowlege base.

This has been a litmus test to find out if he will have any trouble passing anything.
Face it, if we couldn't stop this massive sodomy rape, what can we stop?
Anyone like the looks of the new gun bill looming on the horizon, because i bet we can't stop that shit either.
This is what... 4 weeks of him in office?
only 200 more weeks more of this crap and the chance for 50 more other pieces of legislation equal to this unless something DRASTIC happens in 2010 elections.

We need to start being proactive in every election that we have the opportunity to vote in. Everything from city council to Senator or Representative. Start sending a message, however small, that we are out here and we are paying attention. How many of you know people who voted for Obama who are now second guessing themselves?

Hey, Ike's Connie was called "Columbine." Now that's spiffy.
I know whenever I want to get on the good side of my new pilot, I tell him he's "right out of central casting." Try saying that to Old Clean & Articulate, see where it gets you. Shit, that would even piss Sully off, and he's...well, you might say he's the new central casting.

Dear American
liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists, Communists, et al
(not much difference in any of you):
We have stuck together since the
late 1950s, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize
that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the
sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our
two ideological sides of America cannot and will not
ever agree on what is right, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can
smile; slate it up to irreconcilable differences, and go on our own
ways.
Here is a model dissolution agreement:
Our two groups can
equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. Or better
yet, you take the counties won by the voters that elected BHO in 2008, we will
take what's left. That should not be too difficult, and I am sure our two sides
can come to a friendly agreement.
After that it should be relatively
easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since
both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes. We don't like redistributive
taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to all the liberal judges and the
ACLU.
Since you hate guns and think guns cause crime, we'll take all
firearms, the police, the NRA, and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael
Moore, and Rosie
O'Donnell (you are however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel
vehicle big enough to move them).
We'll keep the capitalism, your hated
greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart,
Wall
Street and ANWAR. You can have your beloved homeless, hippies, and
illegal aliens. We'll keep Alaskan Hockey Moms, most CEO's, and Rednecks. We'll
keep the Bibles and you can have ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, Entertainment Tonight, and
Hollywood.
You can
make nice with Iran,
Palestine, and al-Qaida, and
we'll retain the right to invade places that threaten or harm us or our allies.
You can have the peaceniks and war protestors. When our allies or way of life
are under assault, we'll provide them job security.
We'll keep our
Judeo-Christian Values. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology,
Humanism, and Shirley McClain. You can keep the United
Nations, however we will no longer be paying the bill. We'll keep
SUVs, pickup trucks, and luxury cars. You can have every Subaru Station Wagon
you can find.
You can banter health care is a right and give it to
everyone, if you can find any practicing doctors like Howard
Dean if they'll donate their time and do it for free. We'll
continue to believe healthcare is an individual responsibility and more
important than spending all of ones money on lifestyle.
We'll keep 'The
Battle Hymn of the Republic' and the 'National Anthem'. I'm sure
you'll be happy to substitute 'Imagine', 'I'd Like to Teach The World To
Sing', 'Kum Ba Ya', or 'We
Are the World'.
We'll practice trickle down economics, and
you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.
Since it
often so offends you, we'll keep our History, our Name, and our
Flag.
Would you agree to this? If so please pass it along to other
likeminded patriots, and if you do not agree just hit delete and hang
on.
In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWAR, on who will be
crying for whose help in less than four years because you will need both ANWAR
and our help.
Sincerely,
An American
Patriot
PS. You can keep the imposter now sitting in the White House also. We will elect a natural born U.S. citizen as the Constitution requires since you no longer value or respect it.

The bronze by Sir Jacob Epstein, worth hundreds of thousands of pounds if it were ever sold on the open market, enjoyed pride of place in the Oval Office during President Bush's tenure.
But when British officials offered to let Mr Obama to hang onto the bust for a further four years, the White House said: "Thanks, but no thanks." . . . .
The rejection of the bust has left some British officials nervously reading the runes to see how much influence the UK can wield with the new regime in Washington.

I think it is great he isn't signing yet. The Pubs. now have an argument against the next bill that has to be rushed. Plus, it will be awesome to turn on CSpan and hear our side bringing up this "rush" argument over and over again.
RNC web commercial and radio commercial: "Your Congressmen, on insistance of Pelosi, Reid, Obama, voted on the largest spending bill in our history without even reading it, because "something has to be done now!" Obama waited 4 days to sign it. We(RNC) took those 4 days to read the bill, and this is what we found:....... If Obama felt he could wait that long to sign it, don't you think he should have told your Congressmen? At least then, they could have read it.

I am as appalled (but not surprised) by Obama and his actions as everyone else, but there is no need to bring his blackness into it, which you seem to equate with being ghetto. (@51, that video was hilarious, except for the end.)
Obama is a corrupt, lying and uncouth politician, but he is not at all similar to your stereotype of ghetto (and perhaps inferior to #57) black people. As hard as it may be for some people to believe, there are really black folk (such as myself) who are decent, normal non-ghetto people.
Let's attack Obama on his actions and statements. Believe me, he has given us plenty to work with. But there is no need to bring his race into this in this fashion. It's one thing to call him an affirmative action president because there is truth to that since a lot of folks didn't even know jack about him but just wanted to elect the first black president (foolish MSM, I'm looking at you). But he has never acted like an inner-city gangster -- in fact, he is quite "white-bread" and was apparently not raised in any black neighbourhoods (which is why I think his accent is fake) -- so there's no need to go there.

$750 billion for the Banks = not enough
800 billion to "stimulate" the economy = not enough
it will never be enough, it's not a lack of currency that is the problem it's a lack of trust and confidence in the government, so what do they do? run around acting like complete and utter incompetent fools!

Use of racial overtones in criticizing Obama is both ignorant and counterproductive, giving Obama a ready-made race card to pull in his defense. Obama has provided tons of ammo to criticize his contradictory and frankly incompetent "leadership" in the stimulus bill passage. The focus should be there, his bumbling leadership style and violation of the "net spending cut" pledge of the debates, not on race.

From what I have seen Obama hasn't shown any inclination towards the gangsta rap ethos that ghetto implies. In fact early in the campaign he was criticized by some black community leaders as not being black enough.

Mr. President, I really hope your "stimulus" works. But given the lack of time spend setting it up and the amount of pork in it, I don't think it will. And who will pay for it? The working class, of course. You know, the voters who pay most of the taxes. It won't touch people at your level, of course. As for the hippie/libtard/immigrants, well, they'll be too busy getting their handouts from the gubberment to revolt.

Yes, President Teleprompter Jesus really thinks he's in charge.
President Teleprompter Jesus also thinks he's doing a great job.
I also suspect that President Teleprompter Jesus is filled with pride over the job he's done since his election

I think he is a shill with enough arrogance that makes him think he is not a shill. I knew we were in trouble when he caused all of the trouble in the meeting with Bush, McCain, Piglosi pre-TARP 1. They said it all broke down as soon as he opened his mouth. But, I contend that Piglosi is the real danger, here. We can shoot our mouths out about Obama as much as we want, but we would all be better off if Piglosi gets unelected in 2010 or removed as Speaker of the House. Her absolute arrogance is way beyond Obambi's. You know all of those men in Congress talk about her behind her back and the women do the same (probably worse name calling than on this blog).

I agree. Obama is very far removed from the black experience in my opinion. If you look at his mentors and friends, what you will see is a who's who of white marxists and anarchists. Most of his relations with the black community of this country imho was for the sake of political expediency.
He may not show ghetto attributes, but he certainly does posses gangster attributes. He comes from the Chicago political machine after all, which is a form of organized crime unto it's own. Of course judging by the whole Blagojevich debacle one could call it dis-organized crime.

Seems I stirred up a hornet's nest. I wasn't trying to tell anyone what to say or think, just expressing my opinion.
Back on topic, I have another description of Obama -- lazy. As usual, Rush was right about Obama. He is more interested in playing President than actually being president, going around and lecturing everyone. Talk about a micromanager, trying to tell CEOs what to do when he's hasn't ever had a job-job for any significant amount of time, much less any experience in their industries.
I am not surprised at anything he is doing because I think most of us here knew these things about him before he won. I'm just surprised at all the crap crammed into such a short time span.
I really couldn't get my head around the fact that the congresscritters were just going to ram this immorality of a "stimulus" bill down our throats with no thought given to the consequences. This is America, after all, I thought. But then I remembered that in my native land, we actually expect politicians to lie and not care about the consequences of their actions, as long as they got what they wanted. Then it all made sense to me -- these kinds of people exist all over the world, and Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are just some of them. This is why they want to completely ignore the great document called the Constitution, which would keep them in check. The only difference is that our press is quite fearless about criticizing any politician, unlike the boot-licking MSM here (for which they should be ashamed).

AQC, it's almost impossible to avoid the subject of race when discussing The One, for the simple reason that his race is why he is where he is. If Obama were white, he'd still be a low-level wardheeler on Chicago's South Side, if that. But Obama is a black who doesn't particularly act "black": his features aren't strikingly African, he's not terribly dark, and, most importantly, his speech and accent are those of an educated white person. In plantation days, he'd have been the butler in the Big House, because he makes powerful whites feel comfortable. The white liberal establishment promoted Obama for just that reason: because he makes them feel good about themselves.
Those among us morons who attack blacks for Obama are insulting our brother and sister conservatives who are black. I would no more link them to Obama than I would someone to link me to Teddy Kennedy just because we're both white.

I liked him, but his passivity and fear of appearing partisan has in part led to the election of this person and these majorities in Congress.

You left out the most important two words in Obama's claim about "his" "stimulus" plan. He claims that this obscenity will create or save 4 million jobs.
Thus, in 3 years, barring the unlikely scenario of there being less than 4 million people employed in the whole country he can claim success in saving 4 million jobs. How on earth could anybody prove or disprove that any particular job that someone was not laid off from was a result of Obama's policies?
What has me worried is the 4 million figure. How pear shaped do they anticipate this thing to go if they have to come up with a low-ball figure like 4 million to give them adequate space for CYA?

The ability to keep on ignoring that tiny niggling voice in their heads that tells them that despite their fetishization of pedigree and meaningless credentialism, the degrees that they earned from"respected" institutions in return for unthinkingly acquiescing to tired dogmas have conferred upon them neither wisdom nor the respect of those they secretly still believe to be their "social betters" or openly deride as their "intellectual inferiors".

I really don't think that there is much in this bill by way of monetary perks for journalists or news organizations. They are simply not necessary. Why buy the cow, and all that.
Journalism has never really been about making money per se. In the days of the newspaper, journalists were paid a pittance to provide copy to keep the revenue generating ads from bumping into each other.
Even in the "golden age" of Murrow et al, the news division was never viewed as a profit center by the networks. It's always been sort of a vanity project to feed corporate egos as they competed for ratings and perceived "credibility" while graciously providing an important community service.
I guess in the old days a journalist might have chosen that line of work despite the poor pay because he was curious about his fellow man, the world or whatever and figured that was a good way to subsidize his habits (and a lot easier on the back than stoop labor).
Now, journalists like to tell themselves that they serve an important function by "speaking truth to power" or some such rot they are fed in J-School. In order to subsidize their need to FEEL IMPORTANT they take a low paying gig in the news business and act like cut-rate Solons rather than take the chance of competing in the real economy.
