She's the one on the right, from the Czech Republic, reacting to the announcement of her victory.

Wow. That girl has really terrific teeth.

In a comment thread elsewhere, Kevlarchick suggests that the grimace on her face foreshadows a lifetime of lower back pain.

Personally, I think the more serious health risk is the potentional for boob-slappage injuries to the future Mr. Miss World. But that's just me.

WARSAW, Poland - Tatana Kucharova, an 18-year-old student from the Czech Republic, won the Miss World 2006 beauty contest on Saturday.
Kucharova defeated 103 other women in voting by a panel of judges and television viewers around the world during a two-hour finals ceremony in the Polish capital.

As for the Czech Republic, yeah, been there, seen that, but I actually found the Slovak and Russian girls there to be hotter on average than the Czech girls. She's not bad, but I thought the two runners-up were better-looking (esp. the middle-eastern-descended Miss Australia).

This inspires a little walk down memory lane.

Around '89 or so, I met a Czech girl named Eva.

Friend of a friend. Had those east-euro eyes, the kind that seem to slant down at the corners, hinting at mongols in the woodpile way back when.

Long blonde hair down to her ass.

Told me her life story at a bar one night. Between the music, the jaeger, and her accent, I didn't catch more than every fourth word. Just nodded and smiled a lot. I found out later she'd spent a year in a refuge camp in Austria after escaping from behind the curtain. Fascinating story.

Later on that night she let me know she wanted to do the nasty with this wonderful line:

"How you say, neeple?"

Turned out she'd told me her life story, but left out the part about the husband.

Sexy though.

45 While she may be a high-school student, she didn't just stumble into this beauty pageant by mistake. This "girl" has probably been working for this moment all her life (from what I'm told, it is tres difficile to be this amazing looking) and is probably far more experienced than a simple high-school girl.

While I respect whatever struggles she has endured to becom ethe "most beautiful woman in the Universe!", I sinerely doubt that she is the innocent little high-schooler you wish to make her out to be.
