Agreed. Her first interviews on a national level should have been with the friendlies, with a MSM one thrown in here or there.

As for the demand of tough questions...  I'd just like to know what she thinks about things so that I can judge her judgment.    I'm less interested in knowing if she can pull facts about McCain's political career out of her butt or rattle off Supreme Court cases.    There isn't something morally superior involved in a hostile interview.    It doesn't increase our ability to learn anything useful.    It's not actually journalism.

Sure, we've got two months to learn about her... but where the heck are the "what is your favorite color" questions?    When do we get to "visit" with Sarah?    Other politicians *do* get these sorts of interviews.

34 Its RIDICULOUS that its been a month and all we have is three interviews from which to judge her.  The McCain campaign has put her in this bad position where every simple appearance has the stakes raised too high for comfort.

35 Hopefully, they are following a strategy I'd use: get the hostile interviews when she's most nervous out of the way immediately, then go to more friendly confines and less antagonistic areas for interviews. That way nobody can claim she's avoiding the press or won't face the hard questions (like Senator Obama does). If she looks weak and confused or nervous at the beginning she'll look and sound strong and confident at the end - and that's what people will remember. Sarah Palin is an overwhelmingly capable speaker and if they unleash that and her dynamic personality, she'll do a lot of good for the campaign.

Of course, if McCain wins we still have President McCain, which is to say it still sucks, but... maybe a little less than the alternative.

BTW, I often find Allah humorous. In fact, he's responsible for some of the funniest content ever posted on the Internet. I just can't handle the constant bombardment of pessimism (I can look at RCP myself and see bad polling trends without being told to stick my head in the oven). He's also consumed vast amounts of MSM kool-aid on Palin and I'm growing weary of it. Allah always tells people to leave if they disagree with him, so I left. He's a good guy though and he'll be normal again after the election no matter who wins.

As for NRO, I've read NR for 15 years and really like a lot of their writers. I miss John O'Sullivan as editor and even WFB, who was all over the place with his views toward the end but still made some great observations. Some of the new folks rub me the wrong way (Parker is probably on some of the drugs that the magazine supports legalizing), but NR is comitted to defeating Obama as they were Kerry and every other lefty socialist jerk for decades. As long as you go in with the knowledge that they're all country club Republicans, you won't be disappointed. I spend way more time at AoSHQ, though. FWIW.

That's a good idea. She could moderate a segment per expert alongside the radio show host. The point would be to allow America to hear Palin converse with experts, to hear what questions Palin would raise, and how effectively Palin gets the answers from unwilling sources. Have the regular show's host alongside to maneuver the mechanics of timing breaks, etc., besides providing the audience with the host's own questions (the host has a loyal following who would so enjoy supporting Palin as well).

I liked Palin's demure critique of today's "journalists" lack of journalism ethics as taught when Palin earned her degree. So much lost in so little time "because they could" do as they like fabricating news instead of presenting the record to stand on its own merit. Palin has tact and suave style, the very things that Obama's cohorts claim are their beast's. And Couric hasn't a clue how to appreciate Palin's style, as being a total bitch is so much easier and self gratifying to Katie or The View or even Gwen Ifell with her "new light" shedding all over. Exactly which of the leading journalist women are beloved by Americans? Joan Lunden's been gone from the scene for a long while, and Diane Sawyer is a wuss of a tool. Everyone, regardless of gender, has bought into the idea to eschew at all costs "a woman's touch" as a sign of weakness. Yet that strength to perform without being obnoxiously cynical is exactly what endears a public female figure to her constituents. Palin is proving that gentility is not garnered "back East" by the elitists (wherever they be globally), but from the wilderness "out West".
