The Sullivan thread is busted. Comments have disappeared, before that, boxes disappeared, before that greyness.
They came for my white space, but I liked grey, so I did nothing.
Then they came for the comment boxes, but I did not need boudaries, so I did nothing.
They came for the comments, but I was not on the thread, so I did nothing.

How LONG do you think they have been ignoring Major Jihad? Since Obama was immaculated or before that?
I'm starting to think as soon as it became clear Barack Hussein Obama mmm mmm mmm was elected. There's a story on Drudge that shows they've been looking at the mutt for a while, including into this year.

Hasan should be acquitted. He did it in Texas, which is full of dangerous Creationists and Teabaggers. I'll bet they had Glen Beck on the tv in the room, that would have caused me to go berserk, but guns scare me.
Janet Napolitano told us that returning soldiers are the biggest threat to our security and are just itching to kill masses of people. Hasan was protecting us from them you see, how many lives did he save by offing those ticking time bombs. Hasan is a DOCTOR, a SCIENTIST, so he's an EXPERT.
Shamuta, I know you've been working for three days straight looking for stalkers, but take a shower already!

Then DCIS assigned an investigator, who did a little looking and decided that an Army major contacting a radical imam was AOK, at which point he shrugged and filed it away.
Not buying it. They're effectively blaming a PFC for this goat-fuck, just like they did Abu Graibh. Somebody told him to drop it so as not to embarrass the administration, or bring heat on themselves.

True story
During my junior year in high school, I went to an Harvard political event in Boston. I was chit chatting with one of the Harvard students. We talked about where we were from. I told that I was from a little town in Kansas. Of course, he never heard of the town. So, I told him Amelia Earhart was from there. He replied, "Oh that's cool. Did you ever get to meet her?" Um, I was born in 1980. Just saying.

From the article linked earlier (and on drudge), the Army is saying they're going to court martial the piece of shit. Which is good, hopefully he gets the death sentence. So I ask again: What the fuck good is "moral authority" in any measurable, objective way?" - Nom de Blog
The best way I can explain moral authority is to use an example. Do you read comics? If so, I point to exhibit A or moral authority, Captain America.
Captain America would always do the right thing, and by doing so, he inspired his fellow heroes to follow his example. Even though a mere mortal with powers far surpassed by most other superheroes, he LED the Avengers, which included powerhouses such as Hulk and even gods in Hercules and Thor. They all believed in the goodness of Captain America.
The antithesis to Captain America would be Frank Castle, aka Punisher. He also went after bad guys, just as zealously as other heroes. But he had no moral compunctions, for him, the ends justified the means. And while he struck fear in the thugs of the world, he never shone light in the cities he staked out. Citizens feared him just as much as the criminals he fought.
So in conclusion, moral authority is what Captain America represents. It's something that President Obama is bringing back to our great nation.

Since they take the numbers from unemployment claims, you have to have been working at some time to collect them. You're not collecting if you've decided to go look for work for the first time in years.

Also, color me jealous. Then again, I've owned the Game of the Year Edition of Fallout 3 for almost a month, and I still haven't come close to finishing it or seeing everything in it. I highly recommend it, especially if you're a Mad Max fan.

Yeah, the one problem with the game is that it isn't more of a straight-forward shooter rather than an RPG in shooter's clothing. You kind of already have to be into RPGs to get into Fallout 3. Then again, the game sold me upon entering the subways to get into DC proper, or even breaking into the supermarket for the first survival guide mission, because at that point, it became more of a kill-fest with head explosions a-go-go than the first few missions would seem to indicate. That, and the game allows you to act like a total rat bastard that does things like selling an entire colony of children into slavery or nuking a small town so you can get an apartment (basically).

SYDNEY In the world of fiddler crabs, the best form of protection for females is, apparently, having sex with the neighbors, according to an Australian study published Wednesday.
Researchers from The Australian National University in Canberra found male fiddler crabs will happily defend a nearby female against intruders partly because the females will dole out sex in return.
Swapping sex for favors is not unheard of in the animal kingdom. Antarctica's Adelie penguins exchange sex for highly coveted stones used for nest building.
Another reason the crabs might help fight off their neighbors' intruders is to keep a familiar comrade next door. Even for crabs, sometimes it's a case of "better the devil you know than the devil you don't."

Yeah, something very ugly is going to happen in Clownifornia in the next two years. IOUs, even the precious "little guy" paying more in state income tax, more user fees, more regs, and I just read where you can now find plain old white guys hanging around Home Depot and the like looking for day labor.
Even when (I say when seriously) Obastard sends 50 billion or so to Sacramento in bailouts, that won't be enough to feed the crack habit we have for Nanny Statism here.
I honestly think that if something major happens in china, like an economic collapse(which i think will happen in the next ten years for various reasons), California will fall into an "escape from LA" scenario. Cali's rise corrisponds with a rise in Asia, if one of the engines of asia collapses, get ready for violence and mass migration.

Sam Adams,
Sales tax in LA city is 9.75% although 1% of that is allegedly temporary. (Yeah, right. No such thing as a temporary tax.) I don't know what prop taxes are, but they're the only taxes that are actually pretty low -- but only because of Prop 13. The liberals have been trying to repeal that since it passed, but no one will allow it.
I admit I do like that the Onondaga County NY clothing tax is only 4% while sales tax is 8%. And when I was in NYC last, there was no sales tax on clothes that cost less than $100.
I will admit, since i am a new home owner, i spent a lot of time watching that HGTV, so i could get an idea of what tricks sellers use to cover up crap. Anywho, I noticed that the cheapest homes you could get in cali were like 300 grand. And these weren't downtown homes, big homes, nice homes, or homes in good areas either. How can people there afford this stuff. How can someone making 10 bucks an hour afford a 300k home and still have a 2 hour commute to work?
It just seems like it won't last.

Yeah, but her voting patterns won't change. That's the infuriating part. She'll move to Nevada or Texas, or some other low-tax state and vote for every tax increase and every liberal politician on the ballot, every time. And then 20 years later, if she's still around, she'll be wondering how the state became an expensive, crime-ridden hellhole like the one she left. It will absolutely not occur to her to connect her voting to the state's decline. If you try to explain it to her, she will not understand.
Liberals typically do not see past the noses on their face.

I used to sell Real Estate, and I knew that it was a matter of time before the bubble burst. Property values became too elevated. First, it was the fault of the bank appraisers, then the county tax appraiser caught on and started inflating the value of homes for tax revenue. NO WAY, is an 1100 sq. ft. home in LA, or NYC worth what they sell for. I watched HGTV too, and I couldn't believe flippers were buying 1100 sq. ft. homes for $300 plus.

Ben,
People do the two or three or even 4 hour commutes from out in the boonies because that's where the homes are cheaper. No one can afford to live in LA or OC. So they move out to San Bernadino or Riverside. Homes are more affordable, but the commute is a bitch.
I can't imagine that. Think of fuel costs, the miles you put on a car, etc. It just seems unsustainable

Same here. My wakeup call was my first job out of school when I moved to the LA basin from cozy insular rural northern NY where a liberalistic attitude isn't necessarily fatal as it can be in LA. LA is harsh. Lose your edge or screw up one little bit and its very easy to get dead there even minding your own business.
I've had a serious physical avoidance thing for large urban areas for the past 30 years or so after that experience. Even Miami, which isn't "large" by urban standards, is normally on my "avoid if possible" list.
I prefer places where I can walk out on the back porch, piss on the lawn at any time of the day or night, and not have a SWAT team descend on me for indecent exposure cuz some nosy neighbor was watching me through a telescope.

In exchange for being given a pass and not getting booked, he hooked up everyone in the precinct with tickets to all the best games for the next year.

His mother represents the white imperial repressive system that he so desperately wants to escape from. On the other side of the fence, somewhere out there, are the dreams of his father. A mostly absent African man who understands the struggle of colonial bondage, the struggle that is Islam, and the futility of resisting the allure of the the white man's world. It is this fence that separates two worlds. And it it Barack Obama that sits astride with all eyes upon him.

Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day, was originally set as a U.S. legal holiday to honor the end of World War I, which officially took place on November 11, 1918. In legislation that was passed in 1938, November 11 was "dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be hereafter celebrated and known as 'Armistice Day.'" As such, this new legal holiday honored World War I veterans.
In 1954, after having been through both World War II and the Korean War, the 83rd U.S. Congress .. at the urging of the veterans service organizations .. amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word "Armistice" and inserting the word "Veterans." With the approval of this legislation on June 1, 1954, Nov. 11 became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.
In 1968, the Uniforms Holiday Bill ensured three-day weekends for federal employees by celebrating four national holidays on Mondays: Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Columbus Day. Under this bill, Veterans Day was moved to the last Monday of October. Many states did not agree with this decision and continued to celebrate the holiday on its original date. The first Veterans Day under the new law was observed with much confusion on Oct. 25, 1971.
Finally on September 20, 1975, President Gerald R. Ford signed a law which returned the annual observance of Veterans Day to its original date of Nov. 11, beginning in 1978. Since then, the Veterans Day holiday has been observed on Nov. 11.

Thank you for your service!
America has been at war for almost eight years -- almost three times as long as it took America to pound both the Nazis and the Imperial Japanese to the point of unconditional surrender.
Almost seven years after defeating Saddam Hussein, Iraq remains at best a conditional victory, since the start of the troop draw-down, Islamic terrorist attacks have increased. As US forces pull out, Islamic fighters move in.
Despite the estimated Taliban troop strength in Afghanistan of only
15,000 fighters, the commander of NATO troops on the ground told the
White House that without an additional 40,000 Americans, the war is in
danger of being lost.
How can this be? The main reason is that it is politically
incorrect to recognize the enemy for who the enemy is -- because doing
so would create a Constitutional crisis. That is the reason that US
officials are pretending to be baffled as to Major Hasan's motive for attacking his military colleagues.
The Constitution expressly forbids Congress from passing a law respecting religion and from prohibiting the free exercise thereof. That constrains conservatives and Constitutionalists, but it doesn't explain political correctness.
It all depends on the definition of religion. As long as Islam is a religion, it is protected by the Constitution. It is, however, also a political philosophy which advocates the violent overthrow of the United States, which is NOT a Constitutionally protected-right.
The Left, which ordinarily despises religion, regularly refers to
Mohammed as either "the Prophet Mohammed" or simply "the Prophet". The
same Left would never refer to Jesus as "the Son of God" -- most won't even acknowledge that the Temple Mount predates Islam or that Jerusalem is a Jewish city. The Left has no problem ignoring the Constitution when ignoring it
favors their agenda. The proposed health care bill shreds the Constitution, requiring individuals to purchase health care with their own money or face fines and imprisonment.
It is simply a recognition of reality to acknowledge that the Left hates Christianity and everything it stands for. One of Barack Obama's first public pronouncements to the Islamic world was to deny that America is a Christian country in his speech from Ankara. The Left went wild.
It is also a fact that Islam hates Western Christianity and
everything that it stands for. The Koran says so in no uncertain terms, requiring that Christians under Islamic rule be converted, put to death or relegated to dhimmi status. The Left would fare no better than the Right under Islamic rule, but 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' is the slogan of all left-leaning
revolutionaries. If Islam will help bring down Christian hegemony, then Islam must be protected at all costs.
That's why when an abortionist is murdered, the automatic and
immediate assumption is that the assailant is a Christian pro-life
activist. But when a devout Muslim shouts "Allahu Akbar" before
opening fire on a crowd of American soldiers, they are 'mystified' by
what could have possibly motivated such an act. One thing for sure. It couldn't have been motivated by Islam. That would be jumping to conclusions.
Maybe he was a Christian pro-life activist?

For The Fallen
(Laurence Binyon, 1914)
"WITH proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.
Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.
But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;
As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain."

The earth is full of anger,
The seas are dark with wrath,
The Nations in their harness
Go up against our path:
Ere yet we loose the legions --
Ere yet we draw the blade,
Jehovah of the Thunders,
Lord God of Battles, aid!
High lust and froward bearing,
Proud heart, rebellious brow --
Deaf ear and soul uncaring,
We seek Thy mercy now!
The sinner that forswore Thee,
The fool that passed Thee by,
Our times are known before Thee --
Lord, grant us strength to die!
For those who kneel beside us
At altars not Thine own,
Who lack the lights that guide us,
Lord, let their faith atone.
If wrong we did to call them,
By honour bound they came;
Let not Thy Wrath befall them,
But deal to us the blame.
From panic, pride, and terror,
Revenge that knows no rein,
Light haste and lawless error,
Protect us yet again.
Cloak Thou our undeserving,
Make firm the shuddering breath,
In silence and unswerving
To taste Thy lesser death!
Ah, Mary pierced with sorrow,
Remember, reach and save
The soul that comes to-morrow
Before the God that gave!
Since each was born of woman,
For each at utter need --
True comrade and true foeman --
Madonna, intercede!
E'en now their vanguard gathers,
E'en now we face the fray --
As Thou didst help our fathers,
Help Thou our host to-day!
Fulfilled of signs and wonders,
In life, in death made clear --
Jehovah of the Thunders,
Lord God of Battles, hear!
- Rudyard Kipling

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Do you folks remember the infamous statement from Wendel Goler about the Great Pyramid at Giza being a fine example of Muslim science and architecture?
Well we had a similar one last night on Special Report. One of the reporters was discussing the Hasan shout out before he started shooting and the reluctance of the PC crowd to attribute that to terrorism or Muslim Jihad.
The reporter made one of those infamous foot n mouth statements "perhaps if the same had been done during the civil war John Wilkes Booth's statement after assassinating Lincoln would not have been a Confederate saying".
What Booth said was "sic semper tyrannis" which is Latin for "thus always to tyrants". While true it was the State motto of Va, it is NOT a Confederate slogan of any kind (It is also the motto of Allentown, PA). Experts have said that it is most likely a dramatic invention by Shakespearean actors for the play about Caesar. Booth most certainly was familiar with it since he was a renowned Shakespearean actor.

Steve Douece(?) pushing the violent PC game causing violence meme.
Ax grinding guest says "there is correlation" between these games and violence.
Hahahaha, sneak correlation in there. Every time a "study" comes out pushing this it is debunked as soon as someone gets a look at the methods. In short, it is bullshit.
But look at current events. There are numerous sections in the Koran calling for violence and there are tens of thousands of provable violence with direct lengths to those sections.
Where are the calls to ban the Koran????

Surprisingly balanced article from CBS on the Crist/Rubio race in Florida (doesnt have the normal conservatives are one issue religious voters meme).
It looks like Rubio not only has a very good chance, but all the Dems and Independent spoilers will not be able to get in and ruin it this time. The article mentions something I didnt know.
Florida has something the rest of the country needs; the primaries are CLOSED.

She made this statement while striking down a new SC law that created a new license plate with a cross and stained glass window: (Also awarded attorney's fees)
State laws promoting one religion over others have been illegal in the United States since the nation's founding, Currie wrote.
This from a graduate of the University of SC and also a law school. Evidently she not only knows NOTHING about history, but she knows nothing about the law either.
Well Ms Currie if you or a friend happen to read this note the following:
The country was founded in 1776. The first Supreme Law was the Articles of Confederation. There was no "first amendment" then.
Even after the Constitution was ratified the first amendment did not apply to the States. Several States did in fact have State sponsored religions and nothing was said about it.
In fact Ms Currie, this so-called separation of church and State didn't start getting hit on until after the theory of "incorporation" was bandied about with the 14th amendment after the civil war.
Making it "illegal" for a State authority to mention anything about religion did not start until the liberal Warren Court in the 60s.
So go back and kiss Bill Clinton's ass for appointing you to a court you are obviously unqualified for.
Note to all the Morons: This statement is quoted from a local article written by a local reporter. You will not find it in the AP account for the same story. More bias via omission.

USA: Glory, Glory, Hallelujah!

With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
