Item #1: Now that weve arrived on The New Frontier, Part Two, well probably all need to get a job or something. We cant just sit around gazing at the Skittle-hued sunsets every night. In the meantime, Popular Mechanics has conjured up a list of Future-Proof Jobs. With any luck, by next year, the HQ will be able to provide online courses in all of these fields, so now would be a good time to start considering which one youre best suited for.
Seems they left out one obvious profession thats always future and recession-proof. Its been around for awhile. In fact, some might say its actually the oldest profession. Dean O-Spades has mentioned that we may offer an Associate degree in that field on something like a work-study basis.
Item #2: Got kids? Or more to the point, got lazy sacks o shit kids who cant be bothered to do their homework? Gizmodo may have the perfect solution for you: The Study Ball. Its a 20 pound ball, chain and shackle with a timer that can be set for up to four hours before it unlocks. Should provide just the right amount of motivation to get Junior to finish off his algebra homework before hes off to play with the Xbox and/or call Child Protective Services. If thats insufficient, youll be pleased to know that the company who makes this item, Curiosite, is also working on development of the Study Iron Maiden and the Study Rack.
Item #3: And we wrap up with a story from Scandi-land. From ABC (Australia) comes the grim tale of a hapless driver (they still have cars there?) who was fined $143,000 for driving drunk over the distance of 400 meters. Why such a hefty fine you ask?
Due to the man's wealth, the court in the southern Norwegian county of Aust-Agder handed down a heavier-than-usual sentence, which would normally be equivalent to a month-and-a-half's gross salary for the accused. The principle of proportionality implies that we should take into account the entire wealth of the person in cases where the defendant is more well off than most other people," a court spokesman said. The 49-year-old man is the heir of a rich shipping family. His wealth totalled 228 million kroner ($46 million) in 2008, when he had a gross annual income of around 752,000 kroner.
Eh, why not serves the bastard right for daring to actually have money. However, Im going to actually shock most of you and say that there is an argument to be made there, though Im not totally convinced. In the case of a felony or whatnot where were looking at some prison time, then the punishment should be exactly the same across social strata. With a monetary penalty though, it does affect people differently. A fine of, say, $5k is going to have a vastly larger effect on someone who makes $25k than on someone who makes $500k a year. I know, I know, theres a lot of shitty Iceback ideology and money grabbery behind the whole thing. Argue it out in the thread.

Hindu ceremonial headgear or Cthuhlu precursor? You decide. Either way, this golf ball-sized little bundle of cuddliness is also considered one of the worlds most venomous animals, ranked just behind Hillary! Clinton. Its venom is toxic enough to kill humans and currently there is no known antidote. Several specimens are currently being analyzed at the Companys bioweapons division labs.

I want to point out that once again, Obama demonstrates that he is against anything positive for our nation and for Western Civilization. Any decision he makes will be guaranteed to be the WORST thing for our country.
He is not incompetent. He is evil.

Most of the crowd of 70,000 - few of whom were alive when Cooper first played the song in 1972 - rose to their feet as he wailed the anthems final lyric - Schools been blown to pieces.
What songs would the Phoenix native recommend for Obama, who delivers the commencement address at ASU.
Elected, No More Mr. Nice Guy and - wait for it - Welcome to my Nightmare.
Asked how President Obama is doing, Cooper said, I think hes doing a great job. Hes a rock star. You go to Europe and hes a rock star.

Obamas 60-Day Chrysler Bankruptcy Goal Covers Only Asset Sale
May 13 (Bloomberg) -- Chrysler LLCs bankruptcy might take years, not the 60 days President Obama's administration has given as a target.
The two-month completion schedule suggested by the administration the day the carmaker filed for bankruptcy protection applies only to a sale of Chryslers best assets to a new entity to be managed by Italys Fiat SpA. After the sale, creditors would still fight over unwanted factories and other assets to recover their money, bankruptcy lawyers said.

23So noone know's who sampled that line?I can't think of anyone but I only listen to metal.Whitezombie used to use all kinds of cool samples(before Rob Zombie went total sellout dick).
Ok, that was a pretty obscure reference so I'll narrow it down some. It was sampled by an industrial group based in Vancouver, BC on one of their CDs in the late '80's. I believe thay had some collaborative efforts with Ministry at the time and possibly even went on a joint tour with them. I don't know the source of the sample, but am guessing it's from a somewhat obscure B-level horror movie as they usually liked to include.

WASHINGTON (AP) In his first quarterly report on the nation's stimulus package, Vice President Joe Biden uses anecdotes to paint a glowing picture of an economy on the rebound. In reality, the picture is incomplete and the colors far more muted.
It is not disputed that Washington is spending historic amounts of money at a rate far faster than normal. Workers are getting tax breaks, Washington is picking up a greater share of state Medicaid costs and road construction projects are beginning.
Even Recovery.gov, the Web site that has yet to live up to its billing as a one-stop way to track every penny, offers more information than typical government programs, and faster.
But the effect of that spending is less clear. Many of the claims the White House is making are based on anecdotes selected to fit the Obama administration's message. For instance, the report cites a newspaper article about workers being rehired at a factory in Chicago. That account is true, but is no more an accurate snapshot of the nation's economy than a story, not cited in the report, about a Roanoke, Va., railcar factory closing.
Capturing the full effect of the stimulus at this early stage is difficult, but the administration has set high bars for success. In championing those successes, however, the White House plays a little loose with the facts.

Well, for a Sulu-octopus tie-in, "Males will attempt copulation with members of their own species regardless of sex or size, however interactions between males are most often shorter in duration and end with the mounting octopus withdrawing the hectocotylus without packet insertion or struggle." [Also applicable to Fwank and Sulli.]

The whores in DC Congress is spitballing all sorts of things they might tax to pay for Uhbuhmuh's unicorn-based free healthcare and magic show. Couple days ago it was new taxes on soda/pop/coke, but that got shot down. What they'll do is announce 'maybe we're gonna tax the fuck outta A, B, and C' and see who hollers loudest.
You wanna stop all this socialism shit in the bud? Propose a tax on the things stuck-up liberal pricks enjoy.

What's up, kbdabear? I had to go radio silence for a while. I can't believe what Metro and Worf are doing to this once great nation. Sometimes, I just can't take it. Feel like I'm going to punch a whiny, idiotic, irrational liberal moron.
On the other hand, the Daisy Duke footage provides me with a different feeling...one from deep within. God, I wanted to be Wopat, and I wanted to nail Daisy in the squeakhole all inbred style.

I don't care what she's spitting, I would never make that face in public.
Yes, you're right, momma. Although modern cameras catching frame-by-frame (or however you'd phrase it) shots like that, make stuff like that look worse than seeing it live where her face was just puffed like that for a second. And that reminds me of the MSM breaking protocol and getting an unflattering photo of President Bush eating at a formal dinner.
And on that sad note, goodnight, everyone.

On a side note, for the first few seasons of "Dukes of Hazard", I never realized Daisy had a head. She could've been speaking Swahili, wouldn't of mattered. I was just hitting puberty, so asses and titties were fascinating to me.

TEMPE, Ariz. President Obama used his first commencement speech since taking office to implore the graduates of Arizona State University to resist the temptations of materialism and status and instead choose a life of service and commitment to help rebuild the country.
Citing the greed and irresponsibility exhibited by some of Americas leaders in recent years, he spoke in sober terms about the new direction that graduates and the country must now take.
It is clear that we need to build a new foundation a stronger foundation for our economy and our prosperity, rethinking how we educate our children, and care for our sick, and treat our environment, Obama told about nine-thousand graduates clad in maroon gowns on the schools football field and thousands more in the stands of Sun Devil Stadium.
To urge graduates away from a life of mere financial gain what he called a me-first approach to life he made the case that material success alone cant be the central thing.
Just ask Bernie Madoff, he said.

THE WHITE HOUSE SAID: The stimulus has created or saved 150,000 jobs.
THE FACTS: Since February, the nation has lost more than 1.3 million jobs, according to the Department of Labor. To make the case that the country created jobs over that same stretch, the White House has put forward a benchmark of jobs created "or saved." The argument is that the job numbers would have been even worse had it not been for the stimulus, and the difference between those numbers is a net positive.
To visualize that disconnect, consider this: The administration has promised to create or save 600,000 more jobs in the next 100 days. Even if the nation loses another 5 million jobs during that span (a highly unlikely prospect) the White House could still claim success.
There are few hard numbers when it comes to tracking stimulus jobs. The Obama administration numbers are based on estimates by the White House Council of Economic Advisers, based largely on a formula Obama's transition team put forward. It estimates the effect of tax breaks, government spending and social programs on job growth.
Spending money will put people to work. But spending has a cost. At some point, Washington will have to pay for this program, either by raising taxes or interest rates, and those policies typically hurt job growth. The Obama administration's job data do not take into consideration this back-end cost, an omission some economists, particularly conservative economists, say is a flaw in the analysis.

It also totally fucked up on of the writers over at RedState, who was also a roommate in grad school. One bite of the stuff full strength and he was in the bathroom with his head under the faucet for a good hour.

Off tonight's topic, but what do moron's think about HR 1913, the new hate crime bill passed by the House in April? 'They say' it's likely to get by the Senate, too, which will add all this hate crime stuff to the federal code.
This thing seems unbelievable -- federal prosecutors can 'perceive' that someone who causes bodily injury to another had it in for some 'protected' group and add on a hate crime charge -- up to ten years if no death is involved. How does a prosecutor 'perceive' something like that? Anyway they want, or what?
And the double jeopardy thing -- federal prosecutors, if they don't like a local court decision/penalty, can re-try the case to get a stiffer penalty. Geez, are we really gonna pass this one? Surely the Supreme Court would strike it down. Wouldn't it?

Teh CNN just played a story about the Pope's visit to the Holy Land. Tellingly of their attitudes, the lead in to the story was not what he had to say about his advocacy for peace (not that I entirely agree with him, but it's a sincere message); it was an excerpt from Jon Liebowitz's show making him out to be a fop.
