— Open Blog Not sure if anyone posted this earlier in the week, but NROs Media Blog covered this interview on Tuesday between PBS Chuckles Rose and ABCs Jake Tapper. From NROs Tim Graham in the setup to his post:
ABC White House reporter Jake Tapper described Obamas first full day as president on the PBS talk show hosted by Charlie Rose on the evening of January 21. The real eyebrow-raising passage came when Rose asked Tapper about the relationship between Team Obama and the press, and Tapper described many of his press colleagues on their knees":
Followed by an excerpt from the interview (quoting Tapper):
I would say for a lot of my colleagues, it's perhaps an unrequited love between them and the president. Hes you know, hes a cool customer. You know, I think that there are some of us that, you know, maybe try to report on our feet a little bit more than on our knees and he doesn`t necessarily know what to make of us all the time. You know, he eyes us warily.
Ill bet. I know some guys down in Orange County, CA who could probably work this story up into some sort of video. Sure, theyre not major film producers, and they work out of warehouses and rental storage spaces, but theyve done some truly magnificent work in the past. Who cares if they have no Oscars festooning their garage-like spaces they do this for the love of the craft, you see.
(hat tip to Jubal Anderson Early, who singlehandedly drove back the Spartan hordes at the Battle of Waterloo in 1066 A.D.)
Now that youve finished off your broccoli, I think you deserve a little dessert. Make sure you brush your teeth before heading off to your bunk. (Probably not quite safe for work, but anyone who objects is someone you really dont want to work for/with anyway)

One last thing before bedtime -- Barry is gonna fuck up the economy so bad that in six to twelve months the press will have to turn on him. They know that if they don't they'll be jeered at as fools and tools and marginalized for at least a generation. Because they have nice houses and cars and send their kids to private schools, etc. they're going to do their best to prop up Barry. Right up until the ship starts sinking. Then they'll bail. I think a lot of the press realizes that they, at best, may only be able to provide a temporary stimulus to the Obama presidency. And if it fails while they're still drooling sycophants they'll be totally SOL.

There are riots in Reykjavik and the IMF is on their way with a bailout. They'll probably burn through that bailout cash quickly since a bankrupted nation with 50 percent unemployment and little input with a population of 300,000 to fund the typical Scandinavian freebies.

In the 1980s I had a crackhead for a landlord, and we had roaches. His approach to fixing the roach problem was to put down roach motels, and sit there, in the kitchen, with the lights on, AND WATCH THEM. Every ten minutes or so, he'd decide on a better place to put them. After the first half hour, he'd decide the bait was no good, so he'd spoon some peanut butter into the traps.
I'm pretty sure he's not working for Congress, or for anybody, now, but I sure can't guarantee that those assholes haven't gotten into his stash.

The Stimulus LOL;
We may never know whether the government's $700 billion bailout of the financial industry worked, according to a new report from congressional auditors. That's because it will be impossible to sort out which of the government's spending and other tinkering has made a difference, according to the report released Friday by the Government Accountability Office.
That is the first paragraph in the news story linked in the side bar headlines. This is exactly what congress wants. That way they can scream how successful they were when the economy finally recovers 48 months from now (instead of the normal 8 months).
Note that I used 48 months because that is the official length give to the previous recession commonly called the Great Depression. We were still in it up until 1941 (11 years) but who is counting?
So why 48 months, or ten years? Because we are using the FDR recession solution set. Lets hope that it doesnt take WWIII to pull us out of this one.

WTF? Car rushing provision in the bill that benefits the automakers for their democratic support. Cant pay your mortage but government plans to buy new cars and trucks with your money and crush them. all in the name of fuel efficiency! Sema.org
"Washington lawmakers to include a national car crushing program in the upcoming economic stimulus package. Vehicles targeted for the scrap pile will likely include Chevy Blazers, Silverados, S-10s and Tahoes; Dodge Dakotas and Rams; Ford Explorers and F-Series; Jeep Cherokees and Wranglers; and any other SUV or truck that obtains less than 18 mpg.
The so-called Accelerated Retirement of Inefficient Vehicles Act is "Cash for Clunkers" with a twist. Instead of focusing exclusively on old cars as is typical with scrappage programs, this bill will target any vehicle with lower fuel-economy ratings....."

Worse, is that now that 0 Republican votes won't work in the Senate, they have the group "Americans Coming Together" putting up ads in key states.

The Obama administration has asked the militarys Joint Chiefs of Staff to cut the Pentagons budget request for the fiscal year 2010 by more than 10 percent about $55 billion a senior U.S. defense official tells FOX News.
Last years defense budget was $512 billion. Service chiefs and planners will be spending the weekend burning the midnight oil looking at ways to cut the budget looking especially at weapons programs, the defense official said.

Iran's take on Hopenchange!
US President Barack Obama's offer to talk to Iran shows that America's policy of "domination" has failed, the government spokesman said on Saturday.
"This request means Western ideology has become passive, that capitalist thought and the system of domination have failed," Gholam Hossein Elham was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.
"Negotiation is secondary, the main issue is that there is no way but for (the United States) to change," he added.
HURRAY!!!!1111eleventy!
In light of this, I thought that I would pledge my help to The One and help Him with a revised letter to Iran.
Dear Ahmeduchebag,
I wanted to write and express by most sincere apologies for the 56% of our country that is so fascinated with shiny objects, obsessed with American Idol and otherwise brain dead that they elected a terrorist-loving, Chicago criminal that does not have enough experience to be elected dog catcher, much less POTUS. I am profoundly sorry that this failure in our media and electoral process has allowed this to happen. I regret that this error has caused you confusion and lead you to believe that we actually give a damn what terrorists like yourself, who are directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans over the past several decades, thinks. In addition, I am profoundly sorry that weve spent so long trying to appeal to your clearly non-existent sense of decency or concern for human life and rights.
Rest assured that it is my sincere intention to do everything possible to rectify these past errors on our part. Therefore, effective immediately, we are ceasing any consideration of you as a human being, or even a creature worthy to breathe the same air as all the decent and reasonable people on this planet.
The bombing will commence in 5 minutes (minus the time it takes you to read this letter).
Sincerely,
Damiano
PS- hope you enjoy your 72 virgins
