Oh. My. God.: Scientists Now Say That "Natural" Changes in Climate Will Offset "Global Warming" in Next Ten Years, But Nevermnind the Fact That It's Colder, We Still Have To Destroy the Industrialized Economy to Forestall Ecopalypse
— Ace

Yup.

New prediction: No global warming at all for the next ten years.

Which only proves we've got some serious fucking global warming going on.

Man, I was waiting to have my barbecue on the exhaust manifold of my car, now I can go ahead with it!

Yippee! La-di-freakin-dah!

It could get warmer, it could get colder...but it all depends what the cover of fucking Time magazine says.

10 By God! this AGW - cum - Climate Change crap is getting to be as interesting as the Obama/Hillary trainwreck!

I just want to drop down on my knees and thank the Liberals and Airhead Eco-nuts and - especially - the  tainted so-called climatologists who claim the science is settled (numbnuts!) and  have no-doubt arranged all this for my entertainment!

'Cause I'm enjoying the trainwreck - both of 'em!

Posted by: Steamboat McGoo at April 30, 2008 02:53 PM (DvoWL)

11 Let me get this straight- they're essentially admitting that natural, cyclical changes have more influence on climate than human activity... but climate change due to human activity is still going to MOTERFUCKING KILL US ALL and if you don't believe it, you are no different than a Holocaust-denying Flat Earth'er.  OK then.

13 I love that they state that the last decade has been the warmest in "recent human history". WTF does that mean?

I love that they state that the last decade has been the warmest in "recent human history". WTF does that mean?

"recent human history" in this case means "since the end of the Little Ice Age in the mid-1800's".  And that if the last decade was warmer than the current one, then it's now cooler and Global Warmingtm is bullshit.

Well, they may not have acutally meant that last part, but that's the way I read it.

I also love how they do the typical Global Warming Hedging Dance where they claim that if temperatures drop due to natural changes, it's hiding the effects of Global Warming, but if it's warmer than usual, Global Warming is magnifying the effect of natural changes.

Because good science always assumes that your own hypothesis is correct when observed evidence contradicts it.  That's how we know that the Earth is the center of the universe- we now know that astronomical observations merely mask the fact.

Posted by: Hollowpoint at April 30, 2008 03:36 PM (rf03a)

16 1) If the science is settled on global warming, how come Algore's vaunted computer models didn't/couldn't predict this outcome?

2) And why am I supposed to now believe the new models predicting that global warming will re-occur?

Actually, the right way to look at it is that there's some serious natural cooling going on and that global warming has prevented us from the natural cooling catastrophe.  Thank mankind for that.

21 Which industry would that be Ken? Kyoto doesn't limit carbon going into the world's air, just carbon coming from the G7. Don't you know? Carbon gasses released from China and India don't influence the climate at all!

23 Quick, someone tell the management of the Philadelphia Phillies. Despite the 30 degree wind chills, the team held a "Green Night" promotion. The team wore green caps, which look sharp on a team with red & white jerseys. I thought it was St. Patrick's day again, and the hordes of drunk people staggering around the park thought so too. At least the team can recycle all of those $7.50 beer bottles.

New prediction: No global warming at all for the next ten years.

Which is immediately subject to change, of course, depending on how bad the hurricane season is this year, etc.

It's amazing how Gore and an army of propagandists masquerading as scientists have managed to fool so many people, although not really surprising given how the left loves to concoct a crisis that only massive government intervention can solve.

Get set for the new solar minimum kids...who knows, maybe we can burn Greens to keep warm; at least then they'll be good for something.

Actually, the correct explanation is that the cooler than normal temperatuures would be a lot colder if it wasn't for global warming.  These guys must stay up nights thinking up these kinda lame explanations.
