Obama's Rhetorical Dodge?

I haven't noticed this, but I find it so interesting I want to put it out there to see if there is, indeed, the pattern Rocks has suggested:

[Quoting Obama:] "It is important though to recognize if we keep on adding to the debt, even in the midst of this recovery, that at some point, people could lose confidence in the U.S. economy in a way that could actually lead to a double-dip recession," he said.
Anyone else notice Obama has a habit of saying I, like in his speeches, when speaking of good things but uses WE when speaking of bad things?
'Everything is better since I was elected but WE need to stop spending so much money."
"My administration will save us from the depths of despair but WE need to do more."
Who the hell signs the checks anyway? Hello?

I passed the stimulus that saved the world; we need to stop spending so damn much.

It seems to me it's gotta be what's going on here. Hopefully someone with a Lexis/Nexus account can do a little digging and see if it's a real pattern.

Everybody used to talk about how full of optimism his speeches were - but I never understood. He was the biggest doom and gloomer ever - in the world of Obama's speeches, the only good thing was Obama (and by extension those who supported him.)

Seriously, go back and read, and look where the "optimism" is.

8 This one floored me, it is like some guy eating twenty Big Macs just starts lecturing everyone about high cholesterol. Something about this moron where he does not actually connect his actions with outcomes. Almost as if he does things and good outcomes are taking place in a parallel universe, but then everyone notices what is actually taking place in THIS actual universe and Moron notices also and agrees with everyone that what is taking place here sucks.

But he is absolutely unable to comprehend that it is what HE has done that is making things suck here, instead he is viewing the birth of unicorns and flying monkeys in the universe he is viewing and cannot understand why everyone else is just trying not to step in huge piles of unicorn feces that suddenly appear HERE, and trying to get the flying monkey poop off of their clothes.

This is the final outcome of liberal philosophy applied for 50 years and everyone is finally noticing it makes everything worse! Obama will never notice, he is like some mad liberal robot wrecking everything until someone unplugs him and replaces his boot up ROM.

I don't really remember president's doing this too much either. Usually only when pushed to a wall. For Barry it's standard operating procedure. Even with subordinates. Look at the way he has pinned the KSM decision on Holder's recommendation and he just agreed. It's a WE thing till after the trial. If everything works he will eventually talk about how MY administration brought KSM to justice.

Regardless of what you think of the decision to try KSM in NYC. I just don't see any past President's disowning a decision this quickly. Hell, look how long Dubya defended Meyers for SCOTUS.

It comes into full frution in his Foreign Policy Speeches. "I" for the historic, hopey changey stuff and America/WE for the evil, oprresive and bad stuff. As if he wasn't an American till he was elected President or something.

It's so that when his 2012 budget is lower than 2009, he can claim "I cut the annual budget deficit by 50%!! for reelz!" - without mentioning that the 50% reduction is in reference to the 2009 eleventy bazillion deficit, and still the highest ever.
