— Ace Well, the word on the street is that Barack Obama did not repudiate or further "distance" himself from Wright (who, by the way, he cannot "distance" himself from) last night, but rather waited until today, because he was polling on whether he should make the move all night.
That's the word on the street.
The word from Mary Katharine Ham's dad confirms that, as he, a North Carolina resident, did receive just such a poll last night.
Interesting Theory... sort of crazy, actually, but not entirely.
Who pushed ABCNews the Wright story last May 13th?
Maybe Obama himself, who was blown away that the media had not shown any interest at all in one of his biggest vulnerabilities, and needed the story out there well before the general election, but after he had all but locked up the nomination.
Crazy idea. But who knows.

Good heavens, can't Obama at least try to be a decent liar?

Also: The way the poll is described, it sounds unusually balanced for a campaign poll, and could well be a media poll.
There's a difference between the media and the Obama campaign? I thought they were pretty much the same entity with different titles.

What BS !!
Frankly, the whole thing felt fishy from the beginning. Making it worse was the effort to blame Clinton for setting up the Nation Press Club affair where Wright could oh so well re-self destruct. But, of course, it would be topped off by Obama's attempt at a Sister Soulja Moment.
Only a political novice would ever believe that this was a coincidence. Even Karl Rove isn't this obvious. Talk about ham-handed.
The whole thing is just too easy that it stinks to high heaven.
And, of course, it still doesn't explain why Obama sat in Trinity UCC for 20 years ?

Modified Limited Hangout #2 ("I had no idea Rev. Wright was a crazy racist before now") - this one might actually work.
The problem is that Obama spent 20 years listening to Wright, so for him to be shocked, shocked! now means that he either has absolutely terrible judgement about people or he's kind of stupid.
Unfortunately both are disqualifying for the Presidency.

I wish CINCUSOC would unleash Chaos on the Congressional races.

Wright: African-Americans are genetically different and their attitudes, thinking is based on that fact.
Obama: I'm the only one who knows how to bridge the race divide because I'm genetically half-white, half-black. My attitudes and thinking are shaped by that fact.
Mwahahahahaha

His Anti-Americanism won't blow over, and he will go the way of Kerry.
Just because the media wants to forget about, doesn't mean everyone else will.

I want to believe, but then Kerry still got 48% of the vote and he was a truly awful candidate.

Hahhahaha somebody already updated the Wikipedia page about Sistah Souljah to include Barack Obama.....Now who could that be?
Rove you magnificent bastard.

Agreed. The only difference now is that Wright has revealed the same logical basis in a way that should be inescapable for even the dullest pundit to notice.
Its a drum to beat on, anyway.

Someone sure as shit pushed that story.
I thought it was mighty peculiar that all of a sudden we're back to this fucking idiot Wright.

Okay, I'm sitting here in Detroit airport watching the news....where the hell did they get all of these black pundits and newscasters???
Where did they get all of these black pundits and newscasters who are discussing Obama? Are white people genetically unale to talk about this story without having a black co-newscaster to "balance them out?"

So the issue pops up, the writers call up the outline, add the recent items, and kick it out the door.

I guess everyone has forgotten that before Hillary met up with Bill, she lived with her politically connected family in Chicago. Now if the pot is being stirred up against an opponent from the Windy City, why would you look any further afield than Chicago itself?
Here's what you need to remember: The Clinton's will lose the debate, lose the post-debate, lose the social networking and still follow you out to your car and pierce your tires with an ice pick right in front of your face.

An Angry Obama Renounces Ties To His Ex-Pastor
Thats the headline of the NY Times print edition today.
Aaaaaaactually, he said:
Whatever relationship I had with Reverend Wright has changed as a consequence of this, Mr. Obama said Tuesday.
Not, "has ended." The media are confusing the sound of their own pleas with Obama's voice.
Another thing
didnt Wright say the same crap before, and Obama defended it or ignored it?
At a news conference here, Mr. Obama denounced remarks Mr. Wright made in a series of televised appearances over the last several days. In the appearances, Mr. Wright has suggested that the United States was attacked because it engaged in terrorism on other people and that the government was capable of having used the AIDS virus to commit genocide against minorities. His remarks also cast Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, in a positive light.
Of course he did. This is awesome. By letting him off easy now, the MSM is just inviting the issue to be revisted later, in the General.

He'll repudiate anybody he has to now that he can smell the nomination. But I guarantee you he's shocked that anybody finds his associations and beliefs controversial. In the collectivist crowd he has always run in, all this stuff--Ayers, Wright and the clinging yokels--is taken for granted.
One possible exception is the silly shit that circulates at street level, the government conspiracies with AIDS and drugs. But that serves the cause of collectivism so nobody laughs out loud at them.

And they've never had to answer for it. Remember, the media knew Wright was a nut, but until ACTUAL VIDEO surfaced they could ignore him. The Ayers story was broken by a web site.
Obama was playing by Old Media rules, which says there ARE NO left-wing extremists.
We saw a crack in the Old Way when illegal immigrants marched under foreign flags making demands. No one in the MSM thought it was odd or worth noting. By the time New Media made its point, activists were hastily handing out crisp, never-before-displayed U.S. flags to the marchers.
So, Obama is surely confused. He made it this far hanging in the same extremist circles, with a popular pastor and a popular terrorist. He must be thinking, "WTF?"
