— DrewM Its a good thing Obama is The Chosen One or hed be a laughing stock.
Yesterdays Potatoe" moment came during a visit the Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.
He did express curiosity about the filming of a chase scene in "North by Northwest," Alfred Hitchcock's 1959 classic starring Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint that included a death-defying scramble over Rushmore's presidential faces."How did they get up there in the first place?" he asked ranger Wesley Jensen.
"They didn't. It was a movie set," Jensen told him.
If you havent seen North by Northwest, now you know what you are doing this weekend. Its great. That said, it was made in 1959 and the special effects werent really fooling anyone. Except apparently Obama. The Mount Rushmore sequence is about 1:52 in.
Obviously this isnt anything other than a mildly amusing goof. Weve all said and done stupid stuff and most of us would look like retarded fools if we had cameras following us around like Obama, Clinton and McCain. The issue is, when Republicans do stuff like this it's proof they are drooling imbeciles. When Obama repeatedly does it? Just more filler for the memory hole.

You can't pick on Obama because he's retarded!!! He's the Retard-messiah! Heh.
He probably thinks Star Wars is a documentary, too.

Look, enough w/ the comparisons to stupid Danny Quyale, ok? I mean, Obama has only made simple gaffes that any of us could make, like saying we have 60 states, thinking movies follow real-life rules because sets and props don't exist, having his spiritual mentor be a raving racist and conspiracy-mongering lunatic.....you know, common everyday fuck-ups.
Now misspelling "potato"....that is just unforgivable, the kind of thing that could lead to the downfall of a nation (think how pissed off Idaho and Ireland must've been.)

In all fairness, there are movies I've seen as a kid where I didn't remember how horrible the props were. Don't treat Obama the way reporters treated Quale. The GOP shouldn't ask to be treated like dems, just ask to be treated fairly.
You're already doing what you need to do ... talk about his policies, talk about who his friends are. He's dumb on stuff that's really important to a nominee.

That Hitchcock is such a slow talker, perhaps the dull man would make a good gaffer or something else where he won't be challenged too much.

I think it's much worse than that. For libs, when Obama pulls out the dipstick shtick, it's humorously cute in an endearing way. (Like when he blew his nose during a campaign speech and the crowd went wild.) BARF! (John Candy, we need you.) I also think this 'do not mention these things' attitude in our media is the progressive racism of lowered expectations rearing its ugly head. As has been said many times, if the Obama were white, he'd be toast, burnt. Dan Quayle was literally excorciated non-stop for 'potatoe', even though that spelling came off the teacher's cue card (that 'the rest of the story' stuff we rarely hear). What I also find hysterical is if Obama were a Republican, with all his religious baggage, he'd be excorciated by the progressives non-stop for it. And he'd run out of buses to throw people under. Maybe Nagin, down in Chocolate City, can cut the (half) brother a good deal on some slightly water-damaged ones.

He taught Constitutional law at University of Chicago.
Pat Robertson went to Yale Law School.
While being a part-time lecturer at Chicago is nice, it's not as difficult as becoming an actual professor.

Don't you mean Living Constitutional Law?

Obama graduated from Harvard Law Magna Cum Laude
SFW? Everyone knows that African-Americans can't compete with The Man on his own terms so they get to take special easy ("Affirmative Action") classes.

Why yes, yes he does. And yet he still intends to kill the Death Star weapons program. Claims it's "unproven."

The WEED AND SEED PROGRAM is monopolized by uberleftists. Intentionally or not, Quayle was set up and he fell for the erroneous flashcard. A lot of people would be tempted by etiquette to get taken by a flashcard over their own mind. That's nothing to brag about. But he admitted his mistake, so now it doesn't matter except to the pea brains who wanted and still want potato to have its silent "e" ending.
Last night, observing the Scripps National Spelling Bee, the pronouncers poor enunciation was consistently wrong. He mispronounced so many syllables with a consistent uh vowel sound regardless of the vowel content within the word. He even stuck an "uh" in Kulturuhkampf. He also screwed up Nietzsches last name that way, emitting Nietzschuh from his erroneously gay hole under his nose. He carelessly misled responses from contestants, making the evening all about himself. THAT is the typical gay behavior no one is surprised to experience, and that we have all been trained to accept as the rule.
As per NXNW, that just goes to show how gullible Obama is. Dont send a boy to do a mans job. A presumptive President of the United States would think that National Monuments are not misused, that sets are preferential.

If there's one thing I appreciate about Democrats, it's that they understand that the school a man attended trumps occasional faux pas's when judging his intellect.
They'll further agree with me in 2009 when I appoint Antonin Scalia supreme dictator for life.
Posted by: George Bush at May 31, 2008 11:00 AM (vYzH/)
No excuse for bozo Obama was not reading from a cue card: NXNW filmed on site @ National Monument during chase scene. "Actors scaled the mountain's face. No set required."

John Ryan--did you read the f'in post?
Can you square the f'in circle for me please, because your quoting educational histories (and the Ivies are overrated at this point, anyway) is just a big non-seq in the "CONTEXT" of the post. Because, we can;t overlook the CONTEXT can we?

Bush got a Harvard MBA, so what's your point. You idiots still think Bush is a moron.
LOL, we all know that's not a real school.

No. 39: "wow, he's so smart and articulate and he says all these nice things about bringing us together and, gosh, wouldnt' it be nice to finally have a black president"
Think that about sums it up. And the context to that sentiment is: "... and if I vote to have this nice, not even all that black-looking president, I will wear a shiny glow of Goodness and feel so good inside--how Tolerant I am! how Giving! how Inclusive!--that it won't hurt even the teensiest bit when my taxes go up and the economy tanks and the keys to my SUV are taken away and my home thermostat is forcibly reset to 57 degrees and Jeremiah Wright Theory becomes part of the school curriculum and Michelle Obama gets her own daily show on all the cable channels."
