I'm beginning to think that running for President in 08' wasn't Obamas original plan.  I think that he was hoping for  a senate seat and two or three safe terms.  He gets on the national stage, everyone tells him how great he is and decides to see how that south Chicago stuff goes down on the big stage.  He hits a home run, is off and running not having done all the prep work required for a Presidential run.  Had he been serious, he would have spent several years distancing himself from Rev. Wright. Prof. Ayers et al., and teaching Michele what to say and when to keep her mouth shut.

13 Hammer, my theory is that Obama is a weak-willed, self-absorbed twat who let the flattery get too far into his head. Running for President probably was his plan, but he was hoping to nab a few early states and then fade out like Hart. Wright liked him in the race too because, like any religious huckster, he wants MOAR.

Obama still doesn't scare me. There is still no doubt an Obama presidency will be practically the same as a McCain presidency. It'll be good for American conservatism, you'll see.

Had West's Race Matters as required reading in one of my college courses.
One night, my backpack loaded with textbooks was stolen from my car, including the West book. About a week later, the thief returned the book (nothing else though, just the West book), breaking into my car again to leave it on my dash. Yes, I was parked on the same street/block as the previous break-in.

He had read the book and made moonbatty liberal notes in the margins. It was freaky enough that it's one of the only college books I bothered to keep.

It's interesting that a petty thief found West to be so compelling as to return the book, presumably to "educate" me.

On the plus side, West has a bitchin' 'fro, but you'd think that Yale would pay enought for him to get his buck teeth fixed.

How many Democrats agree with Wright?

Seems like an obvious question. If this were about a popular right-wing preacher, I'm sure we'd see a few surveys. Because, the whole story is about how this will play in the Democrat Primary, right?

One simply poll would provide plenty of context. MSM could even spin it for the Dems. Either: "Obama is not out of touch with primary voters, because X% agree with Wright." Or, "Clearly, the Democrat Party is not out of touch with mainstream America, because only Y% agree with Wright.

The media made sure everyone knew how many Republicans thought Iraq was linked to 9-11, how many believe in Creationism, etc. Why the sudden lack of curiosity?
