Obama has implicity stated that he'd appoint left-wing activist judges; something about (his version of) "justice" coming before the actual, you know, law.
Don't count on someone squishy enough that they might occasionally put the text and intent of the Constitution ahead of their personal leftist ideology. Clinton nominated Ginsburg, and compared to Obama, Bubba was Barry fucking Goldwater.

As far I guess the deciding factor will be whether or not Collins and Snowe have seen the shot across the bow from the GOP and decide to fly right or not. As far as I know Franken hasn't been seated yet so it's still 59-41 putatively. I don't hold out much hope for them however. I see them fighting each other to switch parties in order to get as good a deal as Specter. Once Franken is seated the Dems don't need them anymore so seniority etc will be out the window.

In case anyone didn't know, here's teh background on the ABC pieces of shit who just outed those two poor guys:
ABC's Shame
ABC runs a report showing the names and faces of two CIA contractors who may have had a role in the waterboarding of KSM and Abu Zubaydah. The network apparently outsourced this report to a freelancer named Matthew Cole, whose record in Nexis includes just three bylines -- two stories for Salon (one of which about "how Bush administration aid to Pakistan helps fund insurgents who kill U.S. troops"), and one for the San Jose Mercury News just two days after 9/11 reporting "anxiety about a backlash" among Muslims, who assure the reporter that the attack "has nothing to do with Islam."

Nah, you didn't miss it. I just didn't scroll down far enough on the main page to see that an overnight thread was there. I just jumped in here thinking it would become the overnight thread.
Here's the story, in brief. I didn't want to ruin the mood last night. You mentioned a case of someone who was flat, who became well-endowed late in life (we'll set aside circumstances). I knew a girl in school who had the same experience. The thing is, she and I were ordinary friends. We could shoot the shit. I never hit on her, and vice-versa. She told me about how tough it was being flat. We had laughs.
She later married a guy I knew pretty well, and who we all liked. They had a kid, and my friend from school grew. And grew. It was all natural, and she ended up with serious major-leaguers, and was pretty happy. I'd run into her once in a while, and she was also on the periphery of my own extended family, so there was a sort of double connection. She was someone I always liked, and always enjoyed seeing. Over the years she ended up divorced, but still connected to her ex's family. They didn't stay married, but I'm sure they never stopped caring for each other.
We lost her to breast cancer a few years ago. I'm not sure I've ever grieved properly for her. I do know she was greatly loved by many people, and I'm glad of that. Her name was Melissa.
That's the story. It's why your story reminded me of her. It's also why I had to play that song. I played several others, to lift the mood. She wasn't a gloomy type, so I chased away the blues with some blues.
Tonight we prepped for a gig, so it was like work. I'm a little worn out. But I wanted to see what the moronocracy was up to.

The pair, in their early thirties, stripped on a private grass bank at the castle, where Her Majesty was in residence.
They were watched by crowds of tourists beneath the castle's Garter Tower, in full view of hotels, pubs and shops over the road . .
Witness Mark Robinson, 44, told The Sun: "One window from the guardroom opened up and when a soldier saw what was going on he told his mates and lots of windows opened . .
"They even ignored the Please Keep Off The Grass signs."

Miss Marple,
In a sane world I'd agree with you. But the nominee, who could be slightly to the left of Ward Churchill for all it matters, will be heralded by the MSM and proclaimed the smartest justice alive, a centrist who seeks consensus, principled, tough, a scrapper with integrity, yada, yada, etc.
Republicans who object to the candidate will be crucified by the Democrats and the media as being naysayers and mean-spirited, and this is how it will play out to the public. Shouldn't say it in this day and age, but this is AoS. If the nominee is a woman and/or a minority, the demagoguery will be even worse. I'm remembering Anita Hill and "these old white men" that "just don't get it" daring to question her.
Maybe, just maybe, if this was a year or two from now and people were getting a little sick of Obamaworld, your scenario would come to pass. But we're still under the spell of the Lightworker, and any who oppose HIM must be silenced.
