Back to the future, it seems. Okay, these are 70's era energy PSAs, but pretty much they're Obama's plan.

I hate to burst the Chosen One's bubble, but the energy crunch did not end due to conservation. It ended because of increased production.

5 How about if we all released as much carbon as possible into the atmosphere. The cost of heating tropical Boston during the monsoon season (winter for those of you born before Obama saved us all) would be quite small. Air conditioning can be run on nuclear power. problems? no, solutions!

7 So sorry, but strictly speaking, the energy crunch in the 70s didn't end exactly because of more drilling. It ended because price controls on oil and/or gasoline were ended, thereby allowing the suppliers to make some actual money, which made them willing to drill more. I can still remember the dire predictions of gloom, doom, destruction and all-round civilizational collapse that would occur when gasoline hit $1.00 per gallon.

10 As a group, the Chosen One's minions are likely the dumbest cohort of our population. I wish there were some hard numbers to back that up, but it is truly the only way to explain why they follow Him.

CAFE standards increase, ostensibly to save resources and reduce pollution and suburbs and strip malls and increased oil production ensue. Make it easier and cheaper to travel and people travel more. Try explaining that to Them.
