Louisiana Democrats Know How To Get Buses Moving, When It's Important

Like, for example, when they need to get voters to the polls or lose their jobs:

For instance, when the management team got word at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday that a GOP tracking poll showed Jenkins ahead, it was time for an instant parade. "Within 45 minutes, we arranged a motorcade," Tucker said. "We found Mary and Marc, got school buses for workers and sound trucks with music and put on a parade to flush out our voters."
Landrieu and Morial waved from campaign manager Norma Jane Sabiston's convertible..."We moved them into the major housing project areas blowing horns and playing New Orleans music..."

1 Why does it take a bus to get out the vote? In two different states and 5 different cities, the fartherst I had to go was 2 blocks.

3 A great example of Democratic Party organization 'Getting out the Democratic Vote'. Of course, they also shamelessly used public property payed for and funded by taxes from ALL the voters, not just the fucking Dems. But who cares? After all, as long as the Good Guys win, the rest is just sour grapes and oppressing (or is it surpressing) African American voters, right?

Maybe if they had scheduled an emergency election in conjunction with Katrina, they could have got the school buses out of the parking lot.

5 That's what makes me sick about the politics down here! I don't think Dems will fare too well given the behavior of Kathleen "Watering Pot" Blanco and Mary "I'm gonna punch the president in the nose" Landrieu. The slight silver lining from Katrina and Rita down here may be that the political corruption gets washed away in the aftermath of public scutiny.

7 Maranna, I have to agree with rabidfox. I've lived here for a little over twenty years and life still goes on for the Dem's. Remember, we had the teflon Governer, EWE, who had been indicted numerous time before they got him on taxes(?). And the people think he was a great governer? (Reminds me of a certain prez who couldn't keep his pants zipped, and still people think he was the greatest). How many Ins. Commissioners have we had, and the people keep voting for the same people every year. If anything, our Gov. will come out of this with a second term, as will Landreau. Southern Democrat's rule down here and the people moan and bitch, but keep voting them back in.
