Sam Jackson's signed to play the super-commando in up to nine different movies.

The movies include Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers and at least one sequel each, PLUS the possibility of fast-tracking a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie -- which is said to already be in development.

25 When writer Brian Michael Bendis recreated the Marvel Universe in the late 90s (via a series of comics called "Ultimate". i.e., "Ultimate Spider-Man," "Ultimate X-Men," "Ultimate Fantastic Four", "The Ultimates" (a recretation of The Avengers)), he made Nick Fury a black man, and apparently did so with Samuel L. Jackson in mind.

So there is still a white Nick Fury, but all the comic book buzz is on the Ultimate version, who is black.

I like Jackson's acting; he has a strong presence. I wonder if he'll ever out do his performance in Pulp Fiction; that role was great for him.

60 Dennis Miller interviewed Stan Lee once and he said Kirby told Stan that he can make make a good comic no matter how lame its title and in response made up the title "Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos" and the rest is history.
