Its my considered opinion that "the clarity of pain" can "refocus the energies" of such deluded individuals much more effectively than the lesser, (and obviously ineffective) correctional methods that have taken hold of late.
Of course they could just be taken out and shot, but there is no public sport in that at all. In these days of "Reality TV" there is clearly a big demand for something like "Reality punishment TV". It could be bigger than Oprah.

I suppose threatening the children was only the next step, when the little boogers wouldn't tow the line.

I particularly like handing out "Your Mommy Kills Animals" to children going to see a performance of the Nutcracker.

from the Evil Company that Makes Drugs Website -
Their shit keeps animals healthy, too.
The Veterinary Industry
The aim of the industry is to produce products for both companion and livestock animals that will contribute to their health and wellbeing. Huntingdon Life Sciences provides a comprehensive service to support the industry in meeting regulatory requirements in the fields of efficacy, target animal and human safety, and product quality.
Livestock animals
Only healthy animals produce safe and wholesome food. Animal health products contribute to economic and environmentally-friendly livestock farming. In a situation without veterinary medicines, animals would suffer and that would clearly be unacceptable.
Moreover, to obtain the same food production level as today without veterinary medicines, experts say it would require an increase by 25% of the poultry population and an increase by 89% of the cattle population. The direct impact on the production systems and the environment would be deleterious.
Companion animals
Veterinary medicines and vaccines help to keep them healthy and permit the human / animal interaction that benefits human physical, emotional and psychological well-being.
I think ALF might be confused over the big words -Note to ALF: 'deleterious' means 'bad'
I think, however, an appropriate response for HLS would be to open up an in-house daycare facility on their premises. They might charge the same rates as the other providers in the area. But having the kids on-site would give them more in the way of security than their being next door or just down the street.

Presumably these ALF folks name's can be found out, and they have homes, and petrol is widely available.
I'm just sayin' is all.
If the cops can't catch a large, organized group that frequently announces their escapades, what chance do they have to catch a few fed-up local businessowners?

"activists" aren't a blight on civil society, "vigilantes" are - the cops would land on them like a ton of bricks.
At least that's how the media would be pitching it...
