— Gabriel Malor Dr. Sanity takes no prisoners:
Idiots of all persuasions are asking this important question: "Did they just cross the line on 9/11? I ask this as a serious question."They are referring to the fact that the Republicans at their convention DARED to show a video of 9/11. Don't they know that using human suffering for political purposes is taboo???
Except apparently if you are a Democrat. Then you can exploit as many people as possible in even your political ads that are suffering--and blame it all on the Republicans!
It's wonderful how they do that psychological projection stuff. The Democrats/left appeal directly to the emotions over and over again. They show poor people suffering from horrible health care insurance in the US; poor people who have lost their homes and are suffering etc. etc. etc.
But just try to show how 3000 Americans were horribly killed by brutal Islamofacist thugs, who on a daily basis are trying to do repeat the devastation and murder---why, the Dems and their minions are simply disgusted.
This is not new from Democrats. Remember in 2004 how they cried "fearmongering" every time the President mentioned September 11th. They'd like it to be off limits because they are still--after all these years--on the wrong side of that day.
The Boston Globe pipes up with this outright lie:
One of the most enduring taboos in American politics, the airing of graphic images from the September 11 attacks in a partisan context, died today. It was nearly seven years old.
When did we ban "graphic images" of the terrorist attacks? Did I miss another national consensus (maybe Justice Kennedy can catch me up)? Given how eager Democrats are to give Miranda rights to Osama bin Laden, I say we need more reminders of that day.
This is not a game. Osama and Al Qaeda are playing for keeps. And how a politician will respond to a terrorist attack is an important consideration that we need to make before we put them in office. The Daily Kos Media wants to keep people from considering how knee-jerk anti-American the Left was after 9/11.
Let me put it this way. Do we want to elect men and women whose first response to a terror attack is to ask "Why do they hate us?" Or perhaps something more along the lines of "Don't we have a carrier group in the region right now?"

"This is not a game. Osama and Al Qaeda are playing for keeps." Bravo.
If the Democrats had listened to Miller and Lieberman, or, hell, even Hillary the electorate wouldn't associate the Dems with appeasers. There'd be biopics of Truman and Kennedy and Scoop Jackson for every one of our Reagans. But they went with hope, change and how many billions of good-will dollars to Iran did Biden say it was again?

Photos of flagged-draped military coffins: critical hard news information that we will sue the Army to provide.
Hope this clears up any confusion.

Meh. Who beleives this is "outrageous" other than the MSM and nutroots? We're not going to sway their opinion.
I hope they are truly deeply disturbed by it. Schedenfreude.

Gabe, actually the signature line is:
"Where are the Carriers?"

That's not the funny part of the Boston Globe article. This is:
"It [the taboo] is survived by the direct comparison of one's political opponents to Hitler."
You mean the taboo that the Daily Kos crowd has broken every day for the past eight years, I guess.

I believe this is a use of the Royal We since the MSM decided that we plebes can never again see images of the towers being hit or falling lest we rise up and go kill us some towelheads.

They should be shown every night, on every T.V. in the democratic west.

Can anybody recommend a good DVD which I may use to explain to my eight year old why we are at war and why we must win?

In their honor, I'm expecting a hilarious 6,000 word post with about 130 links to break out any time now.

Remember how right after 9/11 there was a certain amount of unity? Even your staunchest Democrat friends confided that they were kind of relieved that Gore hadn't won? Remember how Jon Stewart said, "'Subliminable' isn't a joke anymore?" That spooked them. They know that we're right about this, and they know that if it were to happen again, they'd lose more and more people.
They want us to forget that unity. They want us to forget about how we were relieved that there were conservatives in charge. They want us to forget that under stress, when it really matters, we (and they) know who we can trust.

Another lie. Liberals have been comparing their opponents to Hitler for decades.

Is this the same Boston Globe that published pics of a porn film and portrayed it as video of US troops raping an Iraqi girl...even AFTER the pics had been debunked?
Fuck the Boston Globe.

I was a fireman on Long Island, NY but moved away in 1979. By an unbelievable quirk of fate I was visiting and at my old fire house on 9/11 and watched it all happen. I certainly felt part of it being a fireman. I was there when they were having fire departments respond to NYC from Long Island for obvious reasons. Including my old Ladder Co. Don't forget 343 firemen were murdered that day, along with all the other people. It's a tragedy if one fireman gets killed on the job but 343, unfathomable. Here's a video they should have shown. I don't know if many of you folks have seen it. The dirge-like music stops at one point but that's not the end. Watch it all the way through and tell me how you feel. Cluebat it may be too graphic for your daughter but it sure would explain things.

They want us to forget how we felt, so they can help us become better than Americans, like they are.

Yea I've been hoping to get The Path to 911 when it hopefully gets released. Pity, that.
Thank you for the references guys.

Yeah, I remember how those Abu Ghraib pics were "taboo" too. Oh wait, no, those hurt Republicans, so THE PUBLIC HAS A SACRED RIGHT TO KNOW!!
Pregnancy was also "taboo" for several months when it involved John Edwards cheating on his cancer-stricken wife, but when it's the 17-year-old daughter of a VP candidate then SHE MUST BE VETTED, WE'RE JUST DOING OUR JOB, SO QUIT WHINING!!

Of course they don't want Americans to see this stuff. It will remind them of several hundred prominent liberal cockroaches who crawled out of the woodwork the following week to denounce Amerikkka. Several of these cockroaches are/were in the Obama inner circle.
DO NOT FORGET that William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright celebrated the 9/11 attacks.

In that 'hard' youtube video, the fourth or fifth image of jumpers is of two people holding hands. I was there - at least I was 'close' watching the second plane auger in from the Williamsburg piers - it was such a perfect day - and though I have been powerfully affected by those events, I don't think I have cried over 9/11 till I saw that image just now.
Some people need to stop fucking with us, or there will be trouble.
