— DrewM Earlier today Biden said it would be patriotic for the rich to pay more taxes. Later today he expanded on that concept by saying not only are higher taxes patriotic but also good religion.
Catholic social doctrine as I was taught it is, you take care of people who need the help the most, he said. Now it'd be different if you could make the case to me that by giving this tax cut to the very wealthy, everybody else was going to be better off. We saw what happened the last eight years when we gave that tax cut."
Lets pause for a moment to consider the gobsmacking outrage that would ring from every corner of the MSM and the left (redundancy alert!) if say, oh I dont know, noted Christian Sarah Palin argued that her tax proposals were based on her churchs teachings.
Not lets consider how much actual gnashing of teeth there will be in this case zero.
It's almost as if there's a bias in the media or something that explains the different coverage Democrats/liberals get versus that of Republicans and conservatives. Who knew?
Oh and now that Biden is so concerned about making public policy based on Catholic social doctrine does that mean hes anti-abortion now?

Of course, Joe doesn't want poor people to be patriotic. Or the middle class.
Just the wealthy.
That's the funny thing about analogies that suck. They kinda, suck.

I was involved in a debate on another blog (that shall not be named) about who the stupidest man in the Senate is. I staunchly defended my position that it is Chuck Schumer. I had facts! I had quotes! I had all the information I needed to prove that, indeed, Schumer is the biggest dolt in the Senate.
I now concede my defeat at the hands of the Bidenists. Please accept my abject apology.

Its not just Sarah Palin, he said. Whens the last time Johns had a press conference? Im serious! When an elected officials stops holding press conferences, it aint because hes found a new way to communicate, its because he doesnt want to communicate.
Though Biden has done his share of interviews by one count over 80 he has not himself held more than two solo press conferences, and none in nearly two weeks. His first solo press conference was in Pittsburgh on Sept. 1, and was very brief, as he explained his decision to cancel an appearance in the citys Labor Day parade. He did speak with reporters aboard his campaign plane on Sept. 7 for over a half hour."

So him and Obama are on on mission from God?
I hope there's a musical number with Aretha Franklin and a huge car crash along the way.
He's going to look awful funny trying to eat corn-on-the-cob with no fucking teeth. Where's Tucker McElroy when you need him.

Just shut the hell up.

P.S. The Catholic Church, in no uncertain terms, condemns socialism, Marxism, and communism. Do yourself a favor - before you utter the word "Catholic" again, get a Catechism and read it.

Thanks, Joe. Glad to know you from the Janet Reno School of Constitutional Thought which makes the claim that the U.S. gives its citizens more rights than any other country in the world. When I read it, I was under the misguided impression that my Creator gives me my rights and governments are instituted to protect them.
It's good to have that cleared up. I will get myself to a re-education camp, stat.

Where's the patriotism in being involuntarily forced to pay more money to the government? Patriotism is a virtue. Where's the virtue being forced to choose between paying more and going to jail?
OBAMA BIN BIDEN - that's what you get if you take two OBAMA BIDEN signs and snip off the BI and the N from one sign and add them to the other. Every time I see an OBAMA BIDEN sign, I think OBAMA BIN BIDEN because they'll be about as beneficial to the country as 9/11 was.
Oh, and while I don't believe that Obama is a Muslim now, I wouldn't be surprised if he chose to convert to Islam after the election. You know, so that he could follow the faith of his father and all that.

Biden is so completely clueless about the Catholic faith it's embarassing.
That is entirely false. He is a staunch and deeply-committed Catholic. Just like me.

"Now it'd be different if you could make the case to me that by giving this tax cut to the very wealthy, everybody else was going to be better off. "
Wow, really Joe? Here you go, for a start. Give a tax cut to the very wealthy, and they use that money to invest in new businesses (creating jobs, which makes everybody else better off) or to grow their own businesses (creating jobs, which makes everybody else better off). Not having run an actual business and therefore not understanding the need for startup capital, nor the desire to make it grow, I guess you wouldn't understand.
Heck, even if the "very wealthy" are selfish SOBs and spend all that extra money on themselves, guess what, that means the companies lucky enough to get their business can grow, thus creating jobs, thus making everybody else better off.

According to the DNC-V, Jesus sent his disciples out to TAKE money from the rich and give it to the poor.
...
And stop going off on Biden for the amount of money he puts in the collection plate -- he gave at the orafice.

Charity begins at home.
Maybe it's just me, but I get the feeling that Biden couldn't give a rat's ass if Obama wins.
I think it just might be possible that he sees him now in precisely the same light as he did before; an inexperienced, unworthy, D.C. carpetbagger. I suspect he has seen quite enough of the way that Hillary was treated and has now been privy to the inner-workings to see how old-timer McCain has been treated. The Washington insiders seem to be a bit like a club and Obama has stormed the front gate in a trojan horse made from hope and change whilst he sends the barbarians around and through the backgate to slit the throats of the guards while they're distracted by the shiny, new pony out front.
Biden will keep on keeping on regardless of whether BHO wins or loses.
Of course, then again, Biden is about 30% bullshit himself, so, ya know...

Of course, Joe doesn't want poor people to be patriotic. Or the middle class.
Imagine... the bottom 40% of taxpayers are so UNpatriotic that they currently do not pay a single dollar of Fed Income Tax- and Obama also wants to give them a larger "refund" (expanded EITC/"deductions")... wouldn't that only make them even less "patriotic" than they are now?
Might we finally be able to "question their patriotism"?
Warren Buffet paid his accountants $millions to insure he took every deduction available when deciding upon his contribution to the Gates' "tax shelter" Foundation. I'll actually believe Warren wants higher taxes on the rich when he starts writing $100 million checks straight to the Treasury. Until then, he just wants somebody else to pay more taxes...

There no wonder that each spring, ladies are renewing their purses collection, at least with two-three new items, if not more. I make no exception to this rule, so I’ve just got a new handbag from Mango and a no-name one which I liked very much because it was in purple, my favorite color, and it had a very elegant and charming combination of patterns on the fabric. I’ll try to take some photos and post them here, so you can see what I’m talking about.
Now, for spring 2009, here are the Caprobags Blog awards, based on my personal preferences. Your opinions may differ, so everybody is welcome to express them in the comments.
