1 Hmm, Looks like Global Cooling!

2 Good place to drill too.  Circle marks the spot?

Posted by: CDR M at August 17, 2008 03:48 PM (TJoU6)

3 A bunch of hippies, terrorist apologists, Communists, Anarchists, Socialists. What could possibly go wrong? However, I am from Buffalo, and every time Hillary Clinton comes to down it becomes dark and frigid, so it might just be that.

4 Gore must be speaking.

6 I see Rove is playing with the weather machine again.

Posted by: Purple Avenger at August 17, 2008 03:52 PM (6L459)

7 Would be funny to get snow during the convention while they talk about global warming. I love when that happens.

Posted by: lorien1973 at August 17, 2008 03:56 PM (fE4SP)

8 The "Recreate '68" folks think that this means they are supposed to smoke more pot!

9 Morons.  The Dems lost in 1968.

Posted by: Purple Avenger at August 17, 2008 04:05 PM (6L459)

10 Gabe, I think I see the sign.  It does look like a purple O opening over Denver.  Would this count as Purple Rain?

Posted by: CDR M at August 17, 2008 04:05 PM (TJoU6)

11 OK, it looks like a Blue O.  Definitely a sign of Sen O.

Posted by: CDR M at August 17, 2008 04:07 PM (TJoU6)

12 Denver has never had snow in August.  But I don't recall many years when we've had snow in the mountains this early in the year, either.  Goodness knows, we've had the rainfall over the past few days to support snow, now if we can just get the temperature down by about fifteen degrees in the next week.  (It was in the forties last night.) City Park is fairly exposed, I'm sure it's uncomfortable there when it's wet and cold.

Short range, I'd love it if it snowed during the convention.  Long range, I'd like it to wait until late October.  It seems that the years we have early snows, the winters are fairly mild, and I like there to be at least a couple of snows where we can't leave the house for a couple of days.

13 And the Goracle shall speaketh at the consecration of our Messiah...

Posted by: monkeyfan at August 17, 2008 04:19 PM (cEE8N)

14 That many libs in one place not only lowers IQs, but apparently temperatures as well.

Posted by: AC at August 17, 2008 04:20 PM (Kk9Xt)

15 Although now that I think about it, there's no way it will snow here during the convention.  Too much hot air.

Posted by: Alice H at August 17, 2008 04:26 PM (jRtPb)

16 Is Al Gore in town?

Posted by: Christopher Taylor at August 17, 2008 04:55 PM (0+Ggj)

17

If it snows during the Messiah's grand stadium speech, I will have to start going to church after 40 years of getting along without it just fine.  It will be a sign.  Not to mention a fucking hoot!

Okay God, I'm not too proud to grovel here.  Name your required sacrifice to get the False One dumped on, and I'm sure the moronosphere can step up to it.

Posted by: sherlock at August 17, 2008 05:00 PM (ojW85)

18 Hmmmm.

Ok I'm laughing.

I almost don't care what happens.  I know something will happen for certain.

The Rocky Mountain News has mentioned the possibility of "cold and wet" for the night of O's annointment at Invesco Field... but forecasting the weather here is more about casting the rune-sticks than science so we'll see. I'll be down there on Tuesday for the people show, and staying upwind when the tear gas flies.... anyone else on this list o' morons gonna be there?

Look at the U.S. temperatures on that map carefully.  (The Canadian temperatures don't count.  They're a bunch of godless heathens, anyway.)

If the U. S. low temperature of 65 is subtracted from the U.S. high temperature of 90, the remainder is 25.  If 25 is then added to the sum of all the U.S. temperatures on that map, and the new sum is divided by 2, the resulting number is:

666

Pretty frickin' scary if you ask me.

31 President Bush is playing around with the weather machine again. He's such a practical joker.

And I blame climate changeTM for the change in climate.

Yeah that was a hell of a heat wave we just had. But that's how the seasons change out here- one day it's 90°, the next day you're wearing a ski jacket. I hope there's another three-day deluge when The One comes to town. Them damn hippies need a bath.

I hate hippies.

Weird phenomenon in Denver--a really high proportion of white, young, homeless kids. Noticed it last year when I was out there to join the wife after a convention she managed. Walking down the street, we enjoyed the comparatively relaxed atmosphere (didn't see a suit for blocks), but did see a bunch of scruffy panhandlers who looked like suburb-raised college kids sans money/shower/clean clothes. Every city has a few, but Denver seemed to have a lot of them.

Strange.

49 Normally it doesn't snow in Denver at this time of year. CPT Charles did the research & showed it to me. However, there is always a first time, and history sometimes has a real knack for the well-timed bitchslap. If the convention covereage people feel obliged to wither snark about the bad weather, or try to deny it in the best tradition of Baghdad Bob, our triumph will be complete.
