Is Obama in Trouble? Oh, Guess It's Time to Break Out the Race Card Yet Again

Legendary among D&D players is the magic item called "The Deck of Many Things."

Obama's DM was a bit boring, and so gave him The Deck of Precisely One Thing. And this Dummy is still carrying it around with him today.

In fairness, he has slightly reworked his old material. And you may say, "But Islam is not a race!" Well, true, and yet we're always hearing the word "racism" in connection with hatred of ~~Muslims~~ Muslim terrorist and their enablers.

I know that Im not your typical presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., told executives and employees of the Schott glass company Friday afternoon, and I just want to be honest with you. I know that.
And I know that the temptation is to say, You know what? The guy hasnt been there that long in Washington., You know, hes got funny name, You know, were not sure about him, Obama continued. And thats what the Republicans, when they say, This isnt about issues, its about personalities, what theyre really saying is, Were going to try to scare people about Barack. So were going to say that you know, maybe hes got Muslim connections or were going to say that, you know, he hangs out with radicals or hes not patriotic."

Umm... all three of those things are true. He does, in fact, have connections to a Hamas terrorist. And he's fast friends with "radicals," whom right thinking people know as "unrepentant terrorists," but whom Barack Obama calls "fixtures of the Chicago mainstream."

Am I to understand that it's out-of-line to note that Barack Obama is best buddies with terrorists, and yet it's an important story that Sarah Palin prayed in church that she hoped we were doing God's work in Iraq?

Curious the connections, friends, and mentors the media considers acceptable and disqualifying!

Hamas terrorist, domestic terrorists, the racist anti-semitic radical Jeremiah Wright: Fine! None of your business! Stop being so racist!

God, Jesus, a standard Christian church: Gob-smackingly vile!

2 Who says, "this isn't about issues, this is about personalities?" No one wants to argue that way, because everyone thinks they're right on the issues. And no one would claim to want to argue that way, because it's a frank admission to being wrong on the issues. He's front-loading the "what they're really saying" clause.

"And that's what the Republicans, when they say, 'our evil plans will never survive the bright light of Obama's majesty unless we destroy him with lies', what they're really saying is...." Nobody does it that way.

3 Interesting comments from the Messiah. Basically, he's pointing out real problems with his candidacy that the general populace might not know yet. By pointing them out, he might indeed be making those 'undecided' voters wonder about the veracity of these accusations. And if they actually go and check them, they'll see they're true. Sounds like a subconscious wish to lose the election from Obama.

32 Let's assume a GOP win in November -- a long-shot, I think, but more likely now than it was prior to Palin being chosen as running-mate. In that event, you can be absolutely certain that the loss will be attributed to white racism. At this point it's inevitable. Obama will pull at least 90% of the black vote. Since much of that vote is coming on purely racial grounds, a defeat for Obama will be seen through the same lens. In fact, if the election is as close as it's been in the past two elections, you can expect a lot of "stolen election" talk. I wouldn't even rule out violence.

These are the wages of identity politics. Unfortunately, the Democratic party as it stands cannot function otherwise.

33 Obama and his campaign are totally lost. Their entire campaign is built around the idea that Bush is so bad and people want change so badly that they will vote for any Democrat. The idea was McCain had no choice but to get people to vote against Obama in order to win. Palin has thrown a wrench in the works. Now people want to vote for McCain. Obama is out of the equation. Now he has to be more then less threatening enough to take a chance on, he has to be appealing. There is nothing appealing about Obama's record, nothing. He's even lost being "right" about the war in Iraq. He's got squat and that's what keeps coming out of his mouth and his campaign. The new reliance on Hillary and the females is evidence of that. Now he is trying to convince people to vote against Palin.
It's a total protonic reversal, as they say. McCain crossed the streams and Obama got roasted.

41 I think it truly is an advance to use trees of supposition and intuitive logic that reach conclusions that cannot be proven factual, but are extremely useful. And if it turns out the results are different than what the supposition tree would indicate, then you go down the tree to find the error and construct a new tree.
