He's BAAAAACK!
— Russ from Winterset

Scott "Animal Mother" Beauchamp, that is. I wanted to get this up on the site so that everyone could read the Radar magazine article, and I'll let Ace come in and do the analysis if he wants to do so. He did all the heavy lifting last time, so I'll defer to his expertise.

Lots of interesting tidbits in the Radar article. Go. Read. Learn.

Better... [ace] than anything I can do is Confederate Yankee's rebuttal.

Incidentally -- the author of that piece, clearing Beauchamp and TNR of any wrongdoing? Spencer Ackerman, former editor of TNR.

Great.  I followed the link at Instapundit directly to the Radar magazine piece, and now I see that Bob @ Confederate Yankee used "They're BAAAACK!" as the title to his post a couple of hours before I used it for mine?  I give up.

I couldn't get your link to work, Ace, so let's try one of mine:

Prediction: watch how the reporters at the DNCC will be all smiles while they report on the "energy" and the "electric atmosphere" on the convention floor.

And then the same reporters will be straight-faced and all business while at the RNCC reporting how the Republicans are "attacking" Obama.

DNCC to the RNCC: from a celebration to a hate-fest.

5 Yeah, I read that Radar piece. Ackerman debunks questions and charges that were never made against Beauchamp while ignoring the actual issues he was attacked on.

When he's not busy doing that, he's taking on TNR for not manning up in Beuchamp's defense.

I guess he wants to be in line to replace Frankie if he ever gets canned.

8 They should have left sleeping dogs lie. And to try to blame Foer who tried everything he could do to get Beauchamp and his wife out of the hole they dug for themselves is ridiculous. The article ends with some b.s. about how his friends and the army have stood up for him. If he was such a great asset to the Army, he wouldn't have remained a private for so many years.  But, contrary to the leftard belief, the army doesn't set out to destroy their men. I asked a friend of mine who is a Lt. Col. and a psychologist to boot, about all this. His response was a generous, Sometime young soldiers lose their way...

9 TNR used to be a legit publication until the Children of the Cornhole took over.  I'm not sure how Marty Peretz and Leon Weiseltier can stand being associated with cocksuckers like Foer.

Does anyone have the link to all of this douche bag's articles?

I was in Iraq during the time this broke and remember reading an article where this idiot claimed the Iraqi police were responsible for some civilian killings becuase the brass at the scene was square (I'm not kidding) and only Iraqi police used that kind of ammo. Since I was a little busy at the time, I didn't save the article and I wanted to make sure that my memory is not playing tricks on me about the type of brass.

I followed this story as close as I could and when the transcript of the phone conversation between PFC Idiot and Foer was published both came out looking like fools. Foer for trying to threaten Scott with firing his wife and Scott for trying not to come out and admit he was lying most of the time.

11 Punky, if you don't want to get completely pissed off while reading -- follow the links in Bob Owen's post back to Confederate Yankee to see his spot on teardowns of everything Beauchump was saying as each article came out and then after as TNR tried to cover their asses.

Posted by: mesablue at August 22, 2008 03:58 PM (5yNaE)

12 Punky,

"War Bonds," where from some reason, they decided to go against SOP and create the perfect conditions for an ambush by changing a vehicle tire during a patrol. Please remind me... don't HMMWVs have run-flat tires?

"Dead of Night," where STB finds the rarest of pistols in the world, a Glock pistol that fires a cartridge with a square-back casing. Other Glocks are the single most popular status symbol weapon in Baghdad at this time as even the NY Times reports, but this rarest of pistols is special. And yeah, for those of you who no nothing of guns or my sense of sarcasm, such a Glock has N E V E R existed in this reality.

"Shock Troops," where STB and his buddies mock a woman at a transitional base in Kuwait where the full-timers and contracts who have worked there for as far back as 2004 says such a woman has never existed, STB and his buddies make 33-ton Bradley IFVs dance and juke like a BMX bike, making their manufacturer go, "Dude, no effin' way."

Ackerman? His next article is an expose where he interviews inmates at a prison, and determines, shockingly, that 99.7% of them are completely innocent.

13 This is funny. The Gawker has a story on the Radar piece and the commenters start bitching at the editor (Gayboy Pareeeeeene) that it is too long and unreadable.

I got one problem with all this.

If he wrote lies, obviously intended to discredit the USArmy, how is it that he's still in the service and headed back to Iraq?  As a retiree from the military, this simply does not wash.

He's either telling the truth or guilty of a serious crime.

15 Maybe the little buddy fucker is back, trying to suck off the Messiah so he can be the SECDEF in his cabinet...I bet Bob McNamara is his idol/mack daddy or some shit.

I always hated dealing with little fuckers like Scotty when I was on active duty.  There was always someone that thought they were smarter or brighter that the SNCO's/Chief's that when they got caught, they immediately recanted everything they said or did, and claimed that "the Devil made me do it" or some stupid shit like that.

Fucker needs a blanket party or some time in the fan room (for the civilians, that's military lingo for getting you ass kicked by one or more people).  Better yet - CODE RED HIS ASS!

YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT, I ORDERED THE CODE RED!

16 I enjoyed reading the comments at the Radar site.  I was going to leave some comments of my own but I didn't want to register for fear of being sent all kinds of gay porn ads from their site.

17 steve,

If he's lying, what's he guilty of? Talking shit? Hell, you and me both would have been jacked up. Lying isn't a crime.

You'll notice when he had to make sworn statements, they were pretty well parsed. He could have been jacked up for lying in those. No allegations of war crimes in those, were there?

Bob,

  Thanks for the links.

During this whole debacle of whether or not this moron knew what he was talking about it always blew my mind no one ever brought up the squared back pistol brass comment. That comment clearly showed this guiy was willing to write whatever fit his purpose and then made up the facts to support it.

19 Oh, fuck. I followed the link to other links to blog roles onto the a couple of former "libertarian" blogger websites that have now shown their true colors as raving assholes. Unfortunately, looking at some of the comments I see people we all know sneaking over there to suck up to them. Michael is dead to me. Allah is semi-dead to me. Seriously, if you want to know what some people really think, check out how they behave themselves in the company of moonbats.

The explanation for the "square-back" cartridges is that it's not the cartridge case that's square, it's the impression made by the firing pin.  They're not saying that these glocks fire square cartridges, but they are asserting that CSI Beauchamp analyzed the cartridge cases found at the scene of the murder and definitively linked them to Glocks carried Iraqi police.  Or Glocks bought on the black market & sold to anyone.  Or Glocks carried by Santa's Elves.

But they're pretty sure they were Glocks.

Russ,

Who is asserting, or spinning more accurately, that explaination?

Where did you hear he was still in the Army? I tried a bunch of Google trails and cannot find a current status on him. I can't believe they let him reenlist. He went AWOL a couple of times and is not fit material for the military IMAO.
