— Ace And this guy says he's not sure if he belives in evolution. We seem to be witnessing random mutations here on a daily basis.
Now he's claiming he decided to switch his vote to a "Nay" on closure because, after seeing it was thoroughly defeated, it occurred to him at that moment, and at no other prior moment, "the country is just not ready" for amnesty without security yet.
He had this epiphany based on his fellow Senators' voting it down. And not, you know, on thousands of Americans calling him to tell him that over the past few weeks.
While you're at Hot Air, early reports two bombers have been arrested, and a a handrwriting expert says Paris Hilton is, if you can believe such a thing, intellectually stunted.

Sheriff's raids anger immigrant advocates
He defends the tactic of chasing those who run from construction sites
Link
"It's not wrong for them to run, but it's not wrong for us to chase
them either," said Sheriff Frank McKeithen, who created his Illegal
Alien Task Force in April to target construction sites in the Florida
Panhandle county.
Immigrant advocates say the technique is repugnant, and the American Civil Liberties Union questions its constitutionality.
Illegal immigrants are leaving town. And builders are worried the
crackdown will deprive them of the cheap labor they desire to benefit
from a building boom in which Panama City Beach's spring break motels
are being torn down and replaced with high-rise condos.

I'm in Switchback's district (which is the entire state, of course, him being a Senator). His last election the Dems ran a far-left DC lobbyist against him, someone who made Kerry look like a moderate. And Switchback swore he wouldn't run for a third time, so he's out in 2010. We won't get to vote against him if he keeps his word, except maybe in next year's Prez primary.
The last time a Dem won a US Senate seat here was 1932.

Sam Brownback's own level of mental evolution is highly questionable, him not being the swiftest salmon in the stream.
