— Ace 81 feet tall, 136 feet wide,
The largest Jumbotron in the world (for a short time, according to the article).
Man, don't you know Vince Young would have loved to see himself on that big screen.
Ramonce would have too but he done messed all that up. Too bad.

Did you read that the commies that run the Tx Highway Dept. are bitching about this? Because the stadium is next to IH-35 and it might distract drivers.

Dave in Nebraska, I've heard apochryphal accounts that say when the Huskers are playing at home, the stadium is the second most populous "place" in your state. That true?

And we had to walk six miles, uphill, both ways, barefoot, in the snow, to the porn drive-in...

Go Jackets!!!
I was at all the Tech Notre Dame games at Grant Field back in the day and they were awesome. Didn't matter the outcome, we had more fun than was geekily possible.
Back when Mackal Harris played, we got all the Mackerel from the stores around Atlanta and pelted the ND players on the sidelines with it. Oh the humanity. Now you know why the student section was moved from behind the opposing player's bench! I still have my "Duck Notre Fame" t-shirt from the last game they played.
We used to road trip the pledges up to Lake Lanier and leave em with no $$ (and sometimes in just their boxers) and they had until 6 pm on Sunday to get back to campus before they owed a penalty. Try doing that nowadays.
I was an honorary lil sis at one of the frats in high school. Got accepted never went. My dad still weeps.
Go Jackets!!!

There is a website out there called what's the good word on blogspot and its run by a GTechie. There is some debate over there about whether to blow off the ND - GT game to go to Dragon-con. You gotta be really over the edge to think there is even a question about that one.
SACRILEGE!!!!!!
And just to add to the sacrilege my husband just informed me that the pretend QB from UGA looks pretty good in the Falcons game tonight. He couldn't get it up for the big games at Georgia, and it won't happen with the Falcons, either.

I will forgive that little piece of crap, while I join your pool!
BTW, my Dad went to Tech, he was the smartest man I've ever met. My mother and my sister both went to UGA, the 2 smartest woemn I ever met. The tossup was setteled by me going to high school in Athens.
I'm a Seminoles fan, btw.

I love Bobby Bowden, the football coach's God (note to Spurrier, you are not God). Anyone with the balls to call a statue of liberty play earns my vote everytime.
I'm an ABG. ANYBODY but Georgia. It's really rabid in my family.

My dad's side of the family is all UGA. My mom's side is all GT. I picked the smarter side of the family...
All kidding aside, I really feel for UGA fans (kinda) with Michael Adams in charge...
And Stephanie, it's cliche, but my two favorite teams are GT and whoever is playing UGA. Of course, I'm a transplanted Aggie now, so I hate the Longhorns with a passion, too. I guess that I just have a problem with "flagship" schools...
To Hell With Georgia!

michael, and geezer aka man of substance, I think I won the spurwing contest.

Yes, you did.
Bastard.
Frickin' Texas Bastard.
Man, I am so annoyed. My "Flat Daddies" post was a lovingly crafted piece of spurwing-bait, and you win with some piece of shit post about a jumbotron.
Life is not fair.

Oh, and happy birthday too.
In other college football news, the local BSU Broncos spanked Sacramento State 45-0. They did it without a Godzillatron.

everybody knows the best part about watching OU deliver a texas-sized asswhipping on the Horns is afterwards, when big tex waves goodbye to you.
If you look close enough, you can see a single floresent tear rolling down his face.
here's to OU getting back to what it does best: being the 1 in texas' 11-1.
Posted by: Karma at August 31, 2006 11:18 PM (Tr2b6)
Correct you are. And I think it's awfully noce of OU to let saxeT win one every five years, just to keep hope alive....then drive a stake through their heart the next year, crushing all things burnt orange.
But it gets even better for me this year since I live in Seattle. I know and work with many Oregon and Washington alumni, so not only do I get to taunt all the Ducks for a third year in a row, but get to watch the Hapless Huskies die as well. And yes, I do remember the '84 (was it actually '85?) Orange Bowl. And the saxeT "tie". Bastards.

So how big is it, really? The caption says 81x136, but the article says 55x134.
Is that like when Dave says it's 8.1 inches, but it really measures 5.5?
