— Ace So over the top it must be a spoof? You make the call.
That's a cached page, by the way; I guess the page just got linked by a lot of people because it won't come up.
If you add up the name 'George Bush' in Hebrew letters it comes out:G = 3 (gimel)
e = 5 (heh)
o = 70 (ayin)
r = 200 (resh)
g = 3 (gimel)
e = 5 (heh)
B = 2 (beth)
u = 70 (ayin)
s = 300 (shin)
h = 8 (cheth)
total = 666 (Antichrist)I would challenge anyone to find another powerful world leader, either now or in the past, whose name adds up to 666 in Hebrew.
...
But hold on, because were not through yet. ASCII stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange. The computer you're using to read this can only understand numbers, and ASCII is the numerical representation of a character such as B or else an action of some sort. If you add up Bush's name in ASCII, you get 71+101+111+114+103+101 for George, 87+97+108+107+101+114 for Walker, and 66+117+115+104 for Bush, which adds up to a total of 1617 = 1+6+1+7 = 15 = 1+5 = 6.
To recap: George Bush's name is equal to 666 if we use the Hebrew letter equivalents. It is also equal to 666 if we use the two most commonly used systems in numerology as well as in ASCII code.
(George Bush has another name that is often used to identify him politically. Hes a Republican from Texas. If you add up Republican in the most commonly used Pythagorean system you get 9+5+7+3+2+3+9+3+1+9 = 51 = 5+1 = 6. If you add up Texas you get 2+5+6+1+1 = 15 = 1+5 = 6. And if you add up Texas Republican you get 15 + 51 = 66.)
(Ever wonder why George Herbert Walker Bush Sr. left the 'Herbert' out when naming his son? George = six letters, Walker = six letters, and BushJr (or 'Busche', which was the original German spelling of their name) = six letters. = 666. Once again, the number of the beast.)
But hold onto your hat, because we are far from finished.
Consider my hat held, sir!
Revelation says the number of the beast (the Antichrist) is 666 it does not say this is only the number of his name, though that could be part of it. Let's continue with the second number used by numerologists, the date of his birth.Mr. Bush was born July 6, 1946. If you add up all the digits in his date of birth you get 7+6+1+9+4+6 = 33 = 3+3 = 6.
The third number used by numerologists is the "fate" number. Many numerologists find the fate, destiny or lucky number by simply taking the day of the month of your birth (and reducing if necessary) since Bushs birth day is the 6th of July no reduction is necessary.
But just to make sure, the other way of finding the fate number is by adding the individual components of the date of birth to a sum before reducing. Bushs birth date is 7/6/1946 = 7+6+1946 = 1959 = 1+9+5+9 = 24 = 2+4 = once again, our third 6.
"One plus one plus two plus two equals six," Miss Scarlett said in Clue, although I'm not sure how she figures into this. She certainly does look like an Antichrist's concubine, though. And the Devil likes scarlet. And a generous rack.
But what does Nostradamus have to say? Glad you asked!
century 6 quatrain 13A doubtful man shall not come far from the reign
The greatest part will uphold him
A capital will not consent that he should reign.
His great chair he shall not be able to maintain.
This one is pretty straightforward, and it concerns the man who tried to stop the AntiChrist's rise to power: "A doubtful man shall not come far from the reign" = Everyone doubted Gore had a chance, but he ended up nearly capturing the presidency. "The greatest part will uphold him." = He won the popular vote. "A capitol will not consent he should reign" = The right-wing US Supreme Court in Washington stopped the counting of votes in Florida to ensure Gore's defeat. "His great chair he shall not be able to maintain." = He's now also lost the office of Vice President.
Oh, yeah: And he notes, of course, that Bush is part of the Merovignian blood line, going back to Jesus I guess, and thus is technically (?) Jewish, or something, which a lot of of people imagine the Anti-Christ will be.
So, apparently I am, as all of you are, minions of the Anti-Christ, the son of Lucifer Himself.
Damnit. I should have listened to my mother and gotten that stupid G.E.D. Now I'm a thrall of Satan.
Serves me right!
Thanks, I guess, to Mark in Mexico.

Call me a prophet, but it seems to me that if George Herbert Walker Bush's name is George Herbert Walker Bush, and George Walker Bush's name is George Walker Bush, then that means that George Herbert Walker Bush is NOT George Herbert Walker Bush, SENIOR, and George Walker Bush is NOT George Walker Bush, JUNIOR, . . . BECAUSE THEIR MOTHERFUCKING NAMES ARE DIFFERENT, FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, there are just some pet peeves that send me over the edge.

Also, the guy is either a satirist, or an ignorant douchebag.
Also, while I don't know anything about ASCII, I do know that "1617 = 1+6+1+7 = 15 = 1+5 = 6" is - how shall I put this? - wrong.
Ace may have me beat on the D&D geekery, but I think I can out-geek him when it comes to dead languages.

That spelling, by the way is utterly ridiculous, and nearly unpronouncable. It would be sort of like spelling Ariel Sharon as Haeriyel Schurown - you can sound it out correctly, but it's nowhere near a straightforward transliteration.
And notice that there's no W - because there is no W in Hebrew! (For transliterations they use vov-vov, I believe.)

Now, admittedly, Bush doesn't :quite: make the grade for evil supervillain, aesthetically speaking--he's simply too plain and wholesome looking. I suppose if he got himself one of those little goatees like the evil Spock from a parallel dimension. . .hey, Wolfowitz looks a lot like Spock! HE can grow a goatee--and Bush can just go for the whole full-body suit and mask a la Darth Vader or Dr. Doom. The Vader electronic voice-box would do a lot for him, too--frankly, there's just nothing sinister about a Texas accent.

Thanks Ace for the devotional literature for the day.
I also want to say I have been catching you on Rightalk.com when I can. I enjoy it.
First of all, are all the LLL's just losing it? This kind of thing just makes you wonder what in the world people are thinking about.
This is a fine example of making something mean whatever you want. As far as sixes go, let us go back to 3rd grade, 0+6=6, 1+5=6, 2+4=6, 3+3=6. You could probably add up anything and come up with six.
If George Bush were really the Antichrist, he would be in some interesting company, practically every pope has been called the antichrist, Leo Tolstoy called Napoleon the antichrist in War and Peace (p. 788-9 in my copy, where Leo does about the same thing as this fellow does, the only difference is that Leo Tolstoy does it with talent.), Saddam Hussein (imagine the libs' idea of George Bush visiting Saddam Hussein, sample conversation- Saddam as one antichrist to another, what is the best way to kill a hundred thousand people or so?), and of course Hitler, which may mean that this is another chance for the liberals to compare George Bush to Hitler. Now they are both antichrists.
Of course, I am waiting for some poor soul (wait, does the antichrist have a soul?) to confess that George Bush can't be the antichrist because (cue organ music and the scream of Dracula) "I am."
To close this off, I was out exercising the other day in the streets of Santiago, Chile, where I reside, when I saw this headline (my translation) "The antichrist will be born in 2006. All you losers, here's your chance.

a vision of a handsome angel who comes to kiss this visionary on the lips.
And this will cause a great commotion in the pants of the visionary, a swelling shall be created and arise there!

But you pointed out most of the major flaws in the gematria (aka "Jewish numerology").
There isn't even a "G as in George" sound in Hebrew. There's a hard "G as in goat", but modern Hebrew annotates that foreign sound with a gimel and an apostrophe, as it does the "ch" as in "RiCHard" with the letter tzadi and an apostrophe.
James Baker III is a better candidate for antichrist, anyway.

While the conservative blogs are organizing a massive fundraiser, Michael Moore is...you guessed it...still just engaging in Bush bashing. In his daily must read, there's still not a single link to any relief organization.
Nor is there any link from his front page.
It's just the usual 'Bush is evil' crap and Cindy Sheehan. Guess the idea of helping out those red states is just too much for Moore to handle.

In May 2005 it was reported that scholars at Oxford University using advanced imaging techniques had been able to read previously illegible portions of an early (third century) version of the Book of Revelation, part of its Oxyrhynchus collection of papyri. The fragment gives the Number of the Beast as 616. Scholars now believe the number in question has very little to do with the devil. It was actually a complicated numerical riddle in Greek, meant to represent someone's name. "It's a number puzzle -- the majority opinion seems to be that it refers to [the Roman emperor] Nero."

Gozer the Traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!

While most manuscripts of the Bible read six-hundred-sixty-six or 666 for the Number of the Beast in Revelation 13:18, some early manuscripts contain 616 instead.
Clearly, the 616 confusion is due to a disinformation campaign engineered by Karl Rove, whose been working at it since the early days of the Christian church.

Unless you're Greek Orthodox, in which case classic Greek is at the exact same level as classic Hebrew. Actually, I don't know much about modern Hebrew, so I don't know how comprehensible classic Hebrew is to a modern Israeli, but I know trying to speak classic Greek in modern Greece is about as useful as speaking Beowulfian English with a Japanese accent to someone in, say, Omaha.
