Fred! Speech to Defend Palin
— Ace

A "masterstroke," Teh Fred! enthuses. Sneak peeks of the speech at the link therein.

Here's what I want Palin to talk about. First of all, I want a 40 minute speech. I realize that's a bit long, but she's introducing herself to America, and she needs to do a lot in this speech.

I want:

5 minutes bio. We know about enough this. Obligatory but can be bullet-pointed.

5 minutes corruption-fighting/reform/integrity. Another thing we know a lot about.

10 minutes energy. Her acknowledged area of expertise -- and a great area to attack the living hell out of Obama on while she's underscoring her own competency and fluency with the issue.

10 minutes foreign policy -- mostly about the surge and media-ignored triumph in Anbar. And yes, again, lots of attacks on the inexperience and bad judgment of Obama. Pot calling the kettle black? Whatever -- We want our Number Two having a public argument on "experience" with their Number One. If she can bait Obama into this...

10 minutes on McCain and everything else. Including her announcing that she'll be, effectivey, McCain's czar on spending, budgeting, corruption, integrity, and energy (as Cheney served basically as Bush's foreign policy czar).

1 Fuck the speech Sarah.... SHOW US YOUR TITS!

2 Jeez, I'm one step behind on the comments today.  I put this in an earlier thread, but it'd be a better fit here:

I hope Fred brings it all out tonight.  Really goes down the list of BS leveled at Palin is such a short period of time and lets it fester at the forefront of peoples' minds, because it certainly wouldn't be at the forefront of the media's agenda.

5 You know what's awesome about Sarahcuda's impending speech?

SHE'S WRITING IT!

6 This woman kills and guts caribou and likes it.  What can Plugs Biden do to her?  Bring it, lefties.

BTW, have you guys seen Politico?  They've got a 63-page PDF opposition research dossier up on her...that features her SSN with the first five digits intact and the VIN of every vehicle she and her husband have owned since 1994.  What the fuck?  Is that normal?

My fear is that Palin will come off as Ma Richards - noted female governor - with some dopey 'Poor Obama - born with a silver coke spoon at his nose'  or something similarly red-meat but dumb.

Blah blah blah.  Who cares what you want?  I want her to issue a devastating critique of Obama's energy policy, while simultaneously cleaning an assault rifle, changing Trig's diaper and mounting a polar bear.

And I mean that in the taxidermal sense, but you're welcome for the Google hits.

9 Teh Fred bringing the shiv for Obama and the media. That's gonna be fun.

10 "You'll have to decide for yourselves which is more relevant experience for the office of the Presidency... running for President, guided by a campaign manager and campaign CEO who, incidentally, are not named Barack Obama... or running a business, city for 8 years, and a state for 2.

"But I'm being unfair. Barack Obama also has experience as a "community organizer". Which combined with his experience running for the Presidency apparently trumps that of the elected governors of this country.

"Oh, speaking of foreign policy. I hear Obama once chaired an important foreign policy committee in the senate to do with Europe. Funny thing is he never called the committee to order.

"I guess he was too busy gaining experience. That is to say, campaigning for president."

Shamelessly stealing this from a HotAit poster - if Palin says this line it will be the greatest moment in the history of the world:

"You know, they are coming after me now.  And you know how it goes.  Gov. Palin looks different.  Gov. Palin's kids have funny names.  Gov. Palin is risky.  And did I tell you she's a WOMAN?"

And maybe she should just say something completely randomly stupid and then say "Oh, sorry.  I don't know how that line got in there, it's from a Joe Biden speech."

Is she speaking tonight? Is teh Fred actually gonna be on the tube or will they just jabber over him and then cut in when Lieberman shows up?

Pretend like my remote don't work cuz I don't even remember what channel number this shit plays on....

16 I still say this would be the show stopper:

"I chose to give my son life despite his imperfections. And as you all know by now, my daughter has chosen to give her child life. Senator Obama, however, chose to let babies die in utility closets."

CSPAN FTW.

18 PBS is also pretty good about not talking over the speakers. And it's available in HD.

I'd outsource that one to Ann Coulter assuming the GOP still accepts her as one of its own. She, you know, knows how to fight back. And likes it.

21 One thing that's telling. We have running jokes like "Sarah Palin Facts" or "Fred Thompson Facts", and they actually seem plausible, because tough, self-sufficient folks are invariably Repubs.

Can you imagine starting a "Barack Obama Facts" or "Joe Biden Facts" thread with the same kind of macho stuff, and NOT being laughed at? There's nothing about these assholes that evokes toughness or self-sufficiency.

23 [Russ, look away]

I’m worried. I have never seen an election this dirty. It’s waive after waive of slime attacks from the MSM, the DNC, the Nutroots, and the idiots who should know better but just repeat every lie they hear without checking whether it is true or not.  The poll numbers should be closer.  If we are going to win this election, it’s because of the evangelicals. I never gave the respect they obviously deserve, but I am giving it to them now.  I must. Because if we don't win, I may be force to beat a bunch of donks to pulp and wind up in prison.

25 I'd outsource that one to Ann Coulter assuming the GOP still accepts her as one of its own. She, you know, knows how to fight back. And likes it.

I don't really care who says it as long as it is said loudly and often enough that people start asking "What's this about Obama being a baby killer?"

Seriously, it was this issue that moved me from intense dislike of Obama to outright hatred of Obama.

28 Any idea *when* Fred! will speak? The stupid GOP convention web site doesn't even list the *order* of the speakers, let alone the time when anything is supposed to happen. I'm not about to camp out on C-SPAN all night.
