— DrewM Will it be enough to shut up Excitable Andy and other morons on the left? Who knows and who cares.
Byron York called McCain's fellow POW Orson Swindle and got the story.
"I recall John telling that story when we first got together in 1971, when were talking about every conceivable thing that had ever happened to us when we were in prison" Swindle told me a few minutes ago. "Most of us had been kept apart or in small groups. Then, in 1970, they moved us into the big cell. And when we all got to see each other and talk to each other directly, instead of tapping through walls, we had 24 hours a day, seven days a week to talk to each other, and we shared stories. I vaguely recall that story being told, among other stories.""I remember it from prison," Swindle continued. "There were several stories similar to that in which guards a very few, I might add showed compassion to the prisoners. It was rare, and I never met one, but some of the guys did."
Calling sources who might serve as witnesses to verify a charge? I guess that's much harder than say, making shit up out of whole cloth. Of course Sullivan and other desperate lefties are more interesting in cheap smears than anything else.
I imagine this bit of news has forced Keith Olbermann to rework the first half of his show.
I lied...I was curious what America's most excitable lefty would say. Shockingly, he's not convinced. In fact, St. Heartache only quotes the last line where Swindle says he, 'vaguely' recalls the story. He left out the first definitive statement and the whole context. I guess reminding people about how tough it is to be held captive is only worth doing if you are trying to generate sympathy for Islamic terrorists, not Americans who were really tortured.
And no...they'll be no linking. You know how to find this turd if you want to.
*For the record...I screwed up Mr. Swindle's name in the original post and have corrected it.

Nah- they'll just claim that since the source is a McCain supporter, he can't be trusted. Only unbiased Obama supporters such as Andrea Mitchell and Keith Olbermann can really be trusted.
Besides, Scott Swindle is old and he has a funny name.

The local disputation is that it was me that, in fact, was the unaccredited author that inscribed a seditious report damning any and all Repug conspirators of whom I have battled and suffered the wounds of their simpleton degradations. And it is entirely plausible, based on the dossier I have compiled in tribute to the struggle of the loyal opposition, that some of you might be of a kindred spirit, yea, someone to thoroughly address the broader tenet of our existence against which we all grapple in some vainglorious endeavor towards some acme of recompense. Your infrequent but hotly received lexis are (is?) a driving force, a flaming rapier that inspires me onward, a beacon of distinction to guide all contrary souls that may provisionally dwell in some begotten crypt of despondency, to not capitulate against the dying of the light, even if its just the hall light on the way to the bathroom. But I digress. How are you really? What is the state of all that is uncurious and and in collusion in this befuddled drama without connotation nor purposeful thrust?
I could go on but I might cut into something more important, like monthly toad hunting or dancing with a local sandwich, so Ill leave you to it. I suppose at this juncture you, like a lot of people that read my diatribes, are probably yearning for a little stopping power, be it from mystical silent sky-bound and bearded old dudes, or the business end of 38 special pointed intently at the speech center, just left of my right arched eyebrow, so Ill save you the trouble. Write me often and with real or imagined intent, whilst I search for holes in Mertons theory, hoping for salvation.

But Sullivan's excuse for asking these questions of McCain? "And why are we not allowed to ask these questions, when they relate to one of the most important questions anyone can ask about a president: the question of integrity? If McCain has fabricated a religious epiphany for political purposes, it is about as deep a betrayal of core integrity as one can imagine, and the latest example of how pernicious the religious domination of political life in America has become." He sure didn't seem to buy that rationale when it was applied, by way of easy analogy, to Kerry back in the day.

Didn't Sullivan start his career claiming to be a conservative? I'd like to know when, if ever, he's actually supported a Republican for president.
McCain is to the left of every Republican since Nixon - yet Nancy Sullivan still doesn't get tingly for him.

Hah, mods; thanks for shovelling away Carl Gordon's latest dropping.
However, McCain loses points, in his response, for linking basement-dwelling Kos Kidz with the wonderful game of Dungeons & Dragons.

No doubt. Now they are smearing Orson Swindle, calling him a liar and whatnot.

And they're completely unaware of how stupidly they're behaving. They see this line of attack as settling the score for the "swiftboating" of Kerry. What they don't see is that their guy was a self-aggrandizing liar who was despised by the servicemen around him while John McCain, for all his faults, is a genuine hero and one of the toughest sons-of-bitches around.
He's the kind of guy they can only pretend to be. I doubt that their craven and limited imaginations can even acknowledge legitimate heroism, so they simply assume that he's as much a pusillanimous little pussy as they themselves are. Why, of course he's faking!

Shhhh. Guys, I think we'd better admit that this line of questioning of McCain scares the hell out of us. I think they may finally have something here, so we'd better make sure they don't ask these questions as many times as possibly between now and November.
You know, I think it's so important that they discover the truth about this story that I'm considering donating to the highest profile nutroot er, sorry netroot member to make sure that they can pursue it as long as possible.

Karl Rove must be behind these lame ass "swift-boating" attempts at McCain. There's no way that Obama's camp will not only keep digging a hole with this meme, but all along keep whacking themselves in the head with the shovel too.

Who cares what Excitable Andi thinks or says any more? The guy sucks his own cock after shoving it into his beagle's squeakhole (how's that for a smear, Andi?), so really, fuck his opinion on anything and everything.
PS: Come on! The guy who is validating the story for McCain is named Swindle! Obviously Mr. Swindle's story is false. We know this as a certainty, since we learned in some posts last week that a person's name is clearly an indicator of their personality and/or character. For instance, all girls named Monique end up sluts, girls named Brenda drive Camaros, girls named Me Fuk U Lon Time will fuck you a very long time, but only for money.

His name is Orson Swindle. I guess I got him confused with Scott Orson Card (who is a writer or something, right?)I fixed it on the old site but who knows if it will appear here.
At least I didn't confuse him with Orson Bean.
Sorry about that.

It doesn't matter that this is true, it just cements the notion that Johnny McBush is an evil Christianist who dropped bombs on Christians as well as Muslims, and brown people.
Just goes to prove that, you know, thing that it proves.

If he'd given McCain some Valu-Rite, though, he would've certainly pegged himself as Russian Orthodox. Just sayin'.

I personally think he'll hold a giant fundraiser to cover bandwidth costs and then switch over to Ralph Nader.
I'm not sure where he goes from there. There must be some wacky ultra-nationalist Greeks who haven't caught on yet.

Then, at some point, he discovered that flinging feces got him invited to more cock and tail parties. Next thing you know, he's writing for the Huffington Post.
I also think his brain is fried on Ecstasy and HIV meds, but that's speculation. And rather charitable, if you think about it...

For a while, he earned lots of money by pretending to be a smart gay conservative who screeched at liberals, generally in an insulting and stupid way. After that started to wane, he became a conservative who hates Bush, cited in major publications and earning lots of cash.
He's lacking in depth, but smart enough to see niches that will get lots of attention in the MSM.

Since you're clearly new to this kind of treatment- it goes like this:
First you're pissed. [How dare they not be good journalists?]
Then you laugh. [It's all a joke...get it?!]
Then you cry. [It's fine if they want to do this, but do they ALL have to do this?]
Then you ignore them for a while. [It's not real news anyway.]
Then you go back and start the cycle again. [Let me just check back in.]
It repeats, over and over, and you begin to lose faith in humanity. [Wow, so it wasn't just a phase? They're all honestly THAT BAD.]
Maybe this is how we can 'come together' and 'reach across the aisle.' Our mutual hatred of the mainstream media and their complete inability to ask a decent question can be the cause we all rally behind! It really is like they have NO short term memory. McCain can tell that story a hundred times in the next year and there will STILL be "reporters" who say things like "And we all remember a year ago when there was suspicion that John McCain made up a story about his time as a POW during a faith forum." Just enough to get it back in the news without really saying it.
MSNBC, FOX, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC all do it. Every day. It is shameful.

I imagine this bit of news has forced Keith Olbermann to rework the first half of his show.
The on positive to come from a Barry victory would be the demise of Olbermann. Sicne he wouldn't have the Evil Republican Administration® to screech about, he would have to go back to fretting over O'Reilly. His viewership would revert back to the dope-smoking retards who were his initial viewers. That should be enough to get the plug pulled.

Oh man, this is fun. You guys are adorable when the tables turn against you. The tactics McCain and his campaign have been using through the media to attack Obama is now being turned on McCain?! Say it ain't so!
What "tactics" have the McCain camp been employing against Obama? Citing his atrocious record? His pathetic lack of experience? His total lack of qualifications for the office? His embarrassing, constant, wild-eyed flip-flopping from one day to the next? His close personal and business associations with terrorists, militant black separatists, and racketeers?
It's all so RACIST, isn't it?
But, other than your total lack of a coherent point, much less anything demonstrating "irony", great post.
