As a result, the Ewok community has a historic low jobless rate of negitive 16.63463363666226226 % unemployment rate. There you have it, I've made history yet once again and expect another Nobel prize for something or other!

Funny you should ask...all of a sudden there were Ewoks swirling around in the trees...
No, but really, the Shreveport/Bossier City area had 20 in. of rain in Oct. (and in Sept., too) and topped it off with 5 inches of rain on Thursday and some nice little tornados. We just lost tree branches and power for 30 hours, but 1.5 blocks away, every house has roof damage. And there was a big fire when a power line came down on the townhouses over yonder.
Happy to be safe and annoyed that I had juuuuust filled the fridge and freezers with a bunch of expensive food.

Headline over at Fox:
Limbaugh Tells Fox News Dems Trying to 'Steal' Private Sector
The conservative radio talk show host blasted the Democrats' health care bills as a front that would steal money from American businesses and effect the partial takeover of the private sector.
Health care reform legislation being pushed through Congress represents the "biggest snatch of freedom and liberty" in U.S. history, Rush Limbaugh tells "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace in an exclusive interview to air this Sunday.
Maybe Ill break down and watch Commie Wallace tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how hard he attacks Rush.

Did you hear how Obama met his wife?
Obama was with his buddies, Jeremiah and Bill, one night in a bar scoping out chicks. Obama was complaining he couldn't find the right girl for himself and was convinced he'd never find his perfect mate. Jeremiah was disapppointed in his young friend and said, "I find your lack of faith disturbing."
Later, Jeremiah spotted a cute young woman about the same age as Obama and asked Obama if he liked her.
Obama's lips curled up in contempt and he said, "I'd sooner kiss a wookiee."
Bill jumped in and said, "I can arrange that."
And the rest is history.

Get your ass to MSNBC. Be sure to bring serious firepower-- these little buggers are tenacious!
Wear good green forest camouflage, not day-glow white StormTrooper armor, or you're a sitting duck.
Set up a trap. Lie in wait in a hidden blind. Bait your Ewok with chum, a candy bar, Valu-rite martini, a human head-- something sure to attract a hungry little furball.
Unload every round you've got into the sucker! They're TOUGH! Why, in a recent battle with the Empire, they beat an entire garrison and only lost a single Ewok! Be careful not to damage the tender flanks.
Remove any greasy, unsavory rags it may be wearing. Burn the fur off. Gut your prize! Keep the heart and liver, and take the head as your trophy. Seal the head in carbonite if available. Carefully cut your flank steaks!
Slap those steaks on the plasma grill and cook thoroughly-- raw Ewok is poisonous! Slather on the A1 sauce, garnish with Hutt-butter, and invite Mama AJ to dinner! Leftovers go in her freezer!

Well, Halloween was the only day I didn't like living on the border with Mexico. Bus loads of people, many of them without costumes--including adults--would descend on our neighborhood. Everyone was perfectly nice, but it was just a different feel. It wasn't about fun for the kids, it was about free candy.
Now that we've moved, it should be calmer. Of course, as of yesterday the police were checking ids to get into our neighborhood, so I don't know if anybody is coming! And if they do, they have to step over the tree branches in everyone's front yard...yeesh.
Posted by: Mama AJ at October 31, 2009 05:05 AM (Be4xl)
So what was up with the groping scene behind the table with the chicks? A straight good director would have cut to a better camera angle to catch that action. Didn't need to see the Ewok humping Al or the ground. Love the fight scene, maybe next week they will put up an AFC ring and have a rematch.

Ewoks are little furry creatures with crossbows and spears. They help overthrow an empire that has spaceships and lasers. Nice. But then they screw up the end of Return of the Jedi and an MSNBC interview by throwing a gay little teddy-bear picnic. They must be leftists.

80 It's kinda funny that in rewatching the prequels recently, I remember it was a statement by Lucas against the Bush years but if you go and actually listen to the political scenes in Episode 2 and 3 about freedom and the loss of it, it fits the Obama administration a lot better than it did Bush.
You watched the prequels again, not against your will? God help you...
The worst thing about the prequels (at least to me) is not the ridicious ret-conning (the Force is by midichorians and not some Zen thing) or the stupid political posturing ("Only a Sith deals in absolutes"), the worst thing is that the prequals make the original 3 series less enjoyable. Stand alone bad movies are bad enough, but when they taint a classic series almost to the point of making them unwatchable, that's unforgivable.

84 It's been awhile since I've seen any of the Star Wars movies. Please, someone, remind me who the Mynocks are.
I remember seeing the Mynocks in Empire Strikes Back, when the Milennium Falcon was hiding from Vader's fleet in that asteroid. They were attached to the Falcon, feeding off it's energy. Chewbacca, Han, and Leia then went out to blast them off.

In the end, there will only be residuals for Lucas Films.
I saw the first prequel that came out, awaiting it with baited breath like any other moron. I decided not to see any of the others for the reason you state: not wanting to ruin the originals.
George Lucas was a lot better when he knew less about making movies, like an Ivy league student that is dumber as a senior than as a freshman.

The prequels were a joke for one simple reason: A bunch of Jedis (dozens and dozens, even) could not detect even a hint of the Dark side when they were in the presence of Senator Palpatine.
Yet a Jedi could sense when a distant planet was destroyed?

There is actually a fairly good explaination for this. I got it from Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire Star Wars Expanded Universe series (the only Star Wars books I've ever read, actually). Yoda and Luke, on Dagobah, couldn't be detected by the Emperor or Vader because the cave's Dark Side of the Force was masking their presence in the Force. Conversely, since the Emperor and his few apprentences were in the presence of so much Light Side Force energies on Coruscant, it masked their impression on the force.
/At least how I understand it. The prequels still suck donkey balls though.

They also have a rich tribal culture. They are omnivores, meaning they like to eat everything, just like God. Their favorite dish is helmeted people, whom they cook, afterwards using the helmets as drums at the feasts. The Ewoks are known to be addicted to Red Bull and usually smoke lots and LOTS of pot, which has side effects of extreme hair growth and extreme shortness.
Ewoks live in constant fear of Ted Nugent, whom they refer to as "The Destroyer." When Ted gets drunk, he imagines the Ewoks to be Communists, so like any true American, he goes out to stop them. Cute, but keep an eye out and watch your back, 'cause they grow up.)
Yub Nub was taken away from society by George Lucas in 1997 and it's agreed he will burn in Hell for that.

George Lucas was a lot better when he knew less about making movies, like an Ivy league student that is dumber as a senior than as a freshman.
Lucas was always a hack, he made a great movie by accident, and then the Fox execs wisely made sure he wouldn't have real power over making Empire Strikes Back. For which he never forgave.
Larry and Andy Watchowski, on the other hand, made Bound and the Matrix in the 90s, and then unmitigated crap ever since. Unlearning almost as fast as Ivy Leaguers.
The ewok on the right wasn't Ace, his ties are only a half-windsor.

Star Wars was a great movie--Lucas had a fantastic editor to take all the idiocy out,
Empire was great--Lucas had limited control of the affair.
Jedi... was fine until the setups for the final battle ran their course. Then you see a bunch of asinine grabass mashed together and come to the conclusion Lucas really does believe fairies exist if you clap your hands hard enough. End with Teddy Bear picnic.
The real shame of the prequels was that they simply revealed Lucas's "vision" to be the lameness of the last part of Jedi and that the people who really made the movies great got no credit.
