David Schuster Gets Facts Wrong To Score A Cheap Partisan Point?
— Ace

The deuce you say! I hear you all screaming.

Somehow straining to find a connection between the MoveOn BetrayUs ad and a Republican's asserted lack of concern for the troops, David Schuster demands a Congresswoman name the last man in her district killed in Iraq. He pounces when she doesn't recall the name he has in mind.

Putting aside this is a somewhat ludicrous comparison, ConservativeBelle finds that, at least based on publically-available information like zip codes, the fallen soldier in question didn't even live in the Congresswoman's district at all.

Does he know the last teenager to die of an overdose in his hometown? That's what I thought. He doesn't even care about the children. Bastard!

So......who the fuck is this David Schuster anyway? Never heard of him.

Does he even know the name of the last guy to bugger him?  No?

David Schuster hates gays!

3 David Who?
Let me guess: He's a liberal. He wears a suit. He sometimes holds a microphone while other times having a mic pinned to his lapel. He's a douche.

How am I doing so far?

Putting aside this is a somewhat ludicrous comparison,

Somewhat ludicrous?  Somewhat ludicrous is comparing the swift boat ad's to the BetrayUs ad, this is completely retarded.  Although if you think about it it's a logical extension of the chickenhawk taunt.  Also, why does it have to be the last person who died?  Because Schuster knows that she could easily name numerous people who died in the war from her district but that she probably wouldn't remember the last one to die.  It's not only stupid and illogical but also disgusting in that Dave feels it's ok to score cheap political points by using dead soldiers as props.

I wish that I was surprised so find out that a member of the mainstream media was so stupid and morally warped.  Hey David I'll bet you are very concerned about health care and uninsured Americans.  Quick name everyone from New York who doesn't have health insurance.  What you don't know?  You know so much about being a pompuos douchebag and masturbating to a 2X life size photo of yourself masturbating to a life size photo of yourself masturbating to a 8X11 photo of yourself yet you can't name every uninsured person in New York?  Hypocrite.

5 Might be hard to name the last guy that died in your district, given that people die every day. Who knows who the last one is? What difference does it make?

Posted by: Christopher Taylor at September 26, 2007 10:18 AM (wmgz8)

6 What a creepy little shit.  Anyone thing Hillary! knows the name of the last NY soldier to die or that she'll be asked?

Why doesn't Schuster man up and stop playing journalist and just go work for a candidate or run himself?

Coward.

8 He didn't get the date of the soldier's death right either... Pvt. Bohannon was killed on Aug 5th not Aug 9th

JFH, yes I read that too, but thought the location things was more of a blatant example of terrible media reporting.  How terrible for that family to have their son exploited in that manner.

I hope Rush Limbaugh hears about it, since he slammed Rush on the story.

10 If anyone cares, Shuster used to be on Fox news, but then moved over to MSNBC where he took up slurping huge draughts of Kool-Aid.

11 Not  David Schuster!  Is he that jerkoff from hardball?

Posted by: Lynn fucking stewart at September 26, 2007 10:50 AM (/InkS)

12 Correct response:

"Oh, shut up you repulsive weasel."

Acceptable response:

"You are attempting to score a cheap political point by was of a gimmick besmirching the names of the honored dead, and with that kind of reprehensible behavior I will not cooperate."

Awesome response:

Leap off the podium and kick Schuster in the nads.

Yep, the one that got the Karl Rove indicted scoop too!

Let's just say that Shuster isn't famous for his credibility.

Or famous at all for that matter.

Let me guess: He's a liberal.

Come, come, he's a trained professional monkey journalist.  They're above party politics.  Why, he's a straight shooter just trying to get the facts out there.

Don't try to guess who he voted for either.

BTW, Good work, Conservative Belle.... I tried doing some reseach on this via Goggle Maps and looking at TN districts.  (Never thought to look up the actual address).  Ironically the actual town is in Hickman County which is split between the 7th and 4th districts with the town center very close, but definitely in the 7th district... This where the MSNBC people probably made the mistake, not realizing that just because the center of town is in one district, a postal address could be in another district and, in this case even a different county.

BTW, Pvt. Bohannon was stationed out of CO, he MAY have changed his residency to that state and not even been a TN resident (I doubt it though, as TN doesn't have any income tax, so it really wouldn't make sense for him to do so, though other factors may have been involved)

18 Freedom of Speech means that we can't go out and grab these asshole journalists and line them up against a brick wall and put a 44 to their heads and blow their stupid brains out  all over said brick wall...

And that, fellows, is the basic problem with Freedom of Speech.

19 Thanks! I'm really surprised by the whole thing. Congresswoman Blackburn is a native from Mississippi, so I'm proud to help her out.

Posted by: ConservativeBelle at September 26, 2007 12:41 PM (JDQBK)

20 Update: Blackburn's office emailed me and told me that Shuster is issuing an apology tonight on MSNBC.

Posted by: ConservativeBelle at September 26, 2007 01:16 PM (JDQBK)

21 Way to go ConservativeBelle.

Apparently it's too much to ask of today's "journalists" to have all their ducks in a row if they plan to use a dead soldier for a gotcha.

"ConservativeBelle"... looks like I may need to update my update.

How long have you people known about her without letting me know?  What do I pay you people for?  Throw me a frickin' bone here. I'm the boss. Need the info.

23 Hee- hee. Schuster.

Remember, before he got clued in on how ridiculous he looked with his extremely...self...important...enunciating, his penchant for bringing the corners of his mouth close to his ears?

Don't think he apologized for pretending to wave KKKarl Rove's "indictment" at the camera. Strange. One could almost believe that he was not an objective journalist.

24 David Schuster is an idiot. I'm not saying this to be mean or anything. He really is not very bright. What makes this worse is that his heavy eyelids are not flattering on TV, and it maximizes the look of stupidity  on his face.

My recommendation to Schuster, for the good of the world at large would be:

Go die, fucker

"Name the alphabetically last man in your district killed in Iraq."

"Name the man in your district killed in Iraq who shared his birthday with Elvis. Elvis Costello."

Or, the ultimate win-win:

"Name the man in your district killed in Iraq who shared his birthday with Hitler."
