— Ace It's no big deal if the head of a major network news operation thinks he occasionally talks with the ghost of Edmund R. Murrow, is it?
And more from RatherBiased: the word "blog" was the most searched-for item in Merriam-Webster's databases this year.

I think the BLOGS should focus all efforts on removing Kofi from the UN. We could also start an effort to support bills that have us leaving that foul, corrupt, and heinous organization of thugs, hypocrites and evil-doers.

I believe the authority you are looking for is Bob Dole's cock.

The trouble with doing what he suggests is this: There are an awful lot of stories which are important but not particularly bloggable because they're not interesting in terms of blogging. Look, it's a huge story that Iran's going to get the bomb. And I can link to stories about that, but you've probably already read them on Drudge.
What, exactly, can I add to such a story? Do I just say, "You know, we can't let Iran get the bomb, folks" ? I mean, everyone here knows that and agrees with that.
The Ukraine is a difficult one to opine on, too. What can I say about it? The ruling regime is corrupt and stole the election; the opposition party should be allowed to take power. Is there anyone here who needs convincing of this?
I am not, alas, the Belmont Club or Steven den Beste. Those guys are deeper thinkers who can actually put together some serious, thoughtful, gee-why-didn't-I-think-of-that takes on important stories. I'm not so gifted, and I my blogging is restricted to things where I think I can actually add something, however minor and however trivial and comical, to the story.
