— Ace Publisher to start turning blogs into books.
Okay, personally, I'm not expecting a call. But I'm happy for those liberal political bloggers, or web sex-'n'-relationship diarists, who'll get deals out of this.
Really happy.
I mean it.
I don't begrudge them their coming book-deals at all.
Completely unrelated-- can anyone recommend a high-voltage toaster with few safety features and the ability to continue pumping out juice without burning out if, just for example let's say, accidentally dropped in a bathtub?
I'm, uhhh, trying to win a bet with a friend.

That you want something that can handle 20 Amps.
As a bonus, the heating element can reach high enough temperatures to completely vaporize DNA. Bringing 'Toaster' to a whole new level.

Is crazy blog money something like mythical lottery winnings (that the damn bastards manage to lose anyways)?

The Friday Project is the first mainstream publishing company to specialise in producing books inspired by popular websites
(Bolds mine.) This looks more like a conventional publishing scheme as well as a way to exploit someone else's popularity. After all, a book "inspired" by a "popular website" doesn't necessarily have to come from the owner of that website, as long as they don't actually use your name and material.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to work on my new project: Base of Hades, about a man with a popular website where he sometimes pretends to be an irritable Paul Williams. Sample quote to use as a sales blurb: "The ladies get hairnets!"
