— Gabriel Malor On tonight's Nightline, Clinton will ask for a sympathy vote because she is a woman. (Warning: there are 400+ comments to the linked post and it can take a long time to load.) Of course, she says that she wants no sympathy, but is there any other way to describe this?
Asked why she thinks so many women may be feeling sorry for her, Clinton said, "I think a lot of women project their own feelings and their lives onto me, and they see how hard this is. It's hard. It's hard being a woman out there. It is obviously challenging with some of the things that are said that are not even personal to me so much as they are about women.[...]
"Every so often I just wish that it were a little more of an even playing field," she said, "but, you know, I play on whatever field is out there."
Over on the flip side, we see race-mongers implying that blacks who don't support Obama are standing in the way of a "genuine historical moment." I guess they don't care as much that there are quite a few other shades of human that are also standing in the way of history.
Clinton wishes she could leverage that kind of sentiment from women voters. Voters who are, apparently, dumb enough to believe that the person who was the frontrunner in national polls for the first twelve months of the election season; the person who was the presumptive, "inevitable" nominee; the person who has all the power of a former president's entrenched political machine behind her is somehow suffering because of a systematic bias against women. In other words, she's depending on the vote of people with long term memory damage.
ABC's Jake Tapper drolly adds:
Of course, it might be observed that it likely hasn't exactly been a complete walk in the park for an African-American to run for president, either.
In the identity politics of the Democratic Party, the black card always trumps the woman card.

this from a woman who can fling a glass ashtray like an Olympic discus thrower, and whose vagina has teeth, horns, and a tail.
Go away already, Hillary.

I, personally, cry regularly to express joy, frustration, sympathy, PMS, whatever is handy. I also use them to get attention and MY WAY. Duh.
The only time it's hard to be a woman is when you try to be a man.

"One thing, Frank, I do have a new appreciation for what women go through. Take my word for it, being a chick isn't easy."
"Are you sure, Nick? Maybe it's not easy being a chick when you're a guy."
(Nick was crossdressing to get close to a girl, if I remember correctly.)
YiR is being made into a movie, but I don't think it's going to be very funny. The book was hilarious because it ifs writing, not its plot. Writing doesn't translate well to film.

Too bad Republicans have to run on flimsy shit like national security, huh?
Sometimes it is hard to respect the electorate, but then I have to remind myself that people who get their news from the mainstream media are constantly exposed to a slick propaganda campaign that could have been, and for all we know may actually have been, designed in Moscow. It won Vietnam for them.
Oh, and when you watch how the MSM treats Republican politicians, it helps to understand the prime directive on this subject for the MSM, and it overrides all others: "At any cost, make sure that there are NO MORE REGANS."

She may not be done. It looks like Obama bullshitting about NAFTA. Telling voters in Ohio one thing and then having people on your staff call the canadians and tell them it's BS won't win many votes. So much for the "new politics of the future and hope".
What the fuck is wrong with the people at his rallies. Obama says hope for the future and they pass out. Can you imagine how absurd the whole thing would be if Romney was doing it. Instead of passing out when Obama talked about change they fainted when Romney said "strong, stronger, stongest". They keep telling me this is a new kind of politician, but it looks and sounds like the same old shit to me.

Nonsense. 107 white men have been on the ticket for a presidential election and lost. That's only happened to one woman, and no black person has ever been defeated in a presidential race. [that's because they're so fleet of foot. -RP . Shut up, Ron.]
Complete walk in the park? It's been mostly walking on water.

Ummm, she is running in the Democratic primary. I'd have to say, from the evidence, that's a winning strategy.
Remember her target audience:
The people who screech that Bush lied while ignoring similar, and sometimes even stronger, statements by each and every prominent Democrat from 1997-2003.
The people who don't remember Bill Clinton bombing Iraq.
The people who still screech that Cheney outed Valerie Plame.
The people who think the Democrats worked hardest for the blacks even though they tried to filibuster the Civil Rights Amendment and fought tooth and nail to keep slavery.
The people who think that Mikhail Gorbachev was the prime mover in the end of the Cold War.
Yup, that could be her winning strategy.

Today is the day she bows out of the race for the children. Let me hang on to the dream, as I get ready to hit the road for Bikeweek.

Black is higher in Victimhood poker. Advantage: Obama.
This is a nifty guide for keeping score of these sorts of events.

But, it has been a walk in the park for Obama. Free ivy league education. State senate, US senate, presidential candidate? He has never had to worry about raising money because he got Oprah's endorsement because he was a black man.

It's tough running for President based on experience you don't actually have. Just try taking credit for everything good that happened while you were sleeping with the president, or not. Then they start tossing out questions about bad things, and hey, it's not like you were actually in charge or anything.

The leftist heirarchy:
UN > Poor Third World > Europe > American minorities > Women > Gays > White people > Republicans > Republican minorities> Republican Jews.

You can probably put "as of yet undiscovered aliens" before UN.

Seriously, you want me to consider a woman who got where she is because she let a man fuck her over, literally, to be a feminist icon? Yeah. No. Boo hoo poor little girl. You know what? You have the power and respect that you command. So if you aren't getting that power and respect, mayhap the problem is with you.

"UN > Poor Third World > Europe > American minorities > Women > Gays > White people > Republicans > Republican minorities> Republican Jews."
heh. I would take the third world out though because they don't actually care about it, they just say they do. The recent "Iraq might slip into a genocidal bloodbath: No big deal" pre-surge attitude leads me to believe that people in the third world are more of a political tool to them than anything. Normal people see something like that as a tragedy, others see it as a way to pick up seats in the senate.

That's because most Hollywood folks don't have the attention span to read anything unless it'll fit on a Starbucks cup.

The 'no experience' thing doesn't resonate with me, primarily bcse so many people associated with the Clintons over the years have conceded that she pretty much ran things. A much more compelling argument, imo, is that she's already been president and she royally sucked at it.

THIS
I've never really understood the "no experience" thing either. It just doesn't pass the smell test. This is Hillary! after all, and I don't think she's ever met a task that she didn't try to shape and micromanage.

Amen!
With Hillary acting the way she has/is do you know how far back she has set women that have worked hard to get where they are. Hillary is acting the way women act when they have gotten where they are by neferious means.
Thanks Hillary for setting women back to the 70's.

A guy who spent five months in school, $20 grand, three years of sea time working as an unlicensed seaman, and passed seven examinations plus flashing light, GMDSS, and advanced fire fighting and medical care provider.
Before that I was a Naval Officer, made it to LCDR, just for being a guy.
A guy who made it through OCS after getting a college degree I worked three jobs in order to pay for. And served overseas and on shipboard, completing division officer and department head tours, and getting through several promotion boards, all while gaining various qualifications in damage control and shiphandling and other specialties.
And let's not forget my qualification as a Search and Rescue Swimmer, just handed me for being a guy. Remember that Costner movie, where all those guys just sat around being guys and jumping out of helicopters for fun?
And then before that, making it to NCO in the Army. They said, "Spec4 Skubinna, in recognition of you being a guy, here's three chevrons to put on your uniform."
Yeah, women like Hillary have no idea how great it is being a guy and getting everything handed to you on a platter. I feel sorry for poor schmucks who have to work hard for anything because they were too stupid to be born with the dangly bits.
