John Gibson was going to discuss this on his show today at 5:45, but that's passed, alas. There is a repeat on later tonight, I think.

But maybe this will be brought up later on a more popular newscast, that will get rehashed, again, and again, and again, and again.

Frankly, a family worth billions, will have connections to everyone who is worth millions. So I don't think we should join that "money is complicity" argument.

I completely support a Cincinnati wide "Cornhole" competition, as long as noone gives him the "safe word/phrase" To protect the security of the "safe word/phrase" I suggest that the "safe word/phrase" be "I wish you were george bush, I love getting cornholed by george bush"

That way even if the full tournament isn't completed, we can get some satisfaction out of the safe word.

9 Um.... If The Bin Laden Group is such a bad bunch, why hasn't BushCo shut them down? If they aren't a bad bunch, what's the point of this story, besides guilt by association? One kid (out of 50+ bin Laden spawn) is a baddie, so everyone with the same name is a terrorist?

Also, the Bin laden Group works mainly in Muslim countries, mainly for gov'ts and I believe a large part of their work is for the Saudis, right? So if they are bad people, why haven't our valiant allies the Saudis shut them down?

These are kind of important questions that should be answered for a story like this to make any sense. But, then, Ace's odd obsession with Carter bashing must have got the better of him.

I tend to agree that the binLadin family's various business dealings and donations are not indicative of Osama's support for, and cooperation with, any particular American business or politician.

As I'm sure you took great pains to point out when Fahrenheit 911 tried to suggest that Bush was in bed with Osama because he helped bin Ladin family members get out of the country on 9/14. (By the way-- the operation was ordered by, and run by, the left's favorite anti-terrorist "expert" Richard Clarke.)

Just the fact that Bush came from an oil industry background should at least bring up the question of where exactly his alleigences are. The support for a murderously repressive regime that's beholden to the religious sect that was the genesis of 9/11 AND a major world oil producer should set of alarm bells. Point being, why are we in bed with the Saudis? Ok, because we have to be for the time being. But why aren't we pushing them harder for internal reform, both democratic and religious? We could, it'd just be difficult, and might screw up the flow of oil, but wouldn't it be worth it, from a national security standpoint?

Asking questions about the President's motives and foreign policy goals is not dissent, it's democracy. Unfortunately, Congress isn't doing that. Which is why things aren't looking so good for the R's in '06.

The FBI interviewed all persons of interest on those flights prior to their departure. They concluded that none of the passengers were connected to the 9/11 attacks and have since found no evidence to change that conclusion. Our own independent review of the Saudi nationals involved confirms that no one with known links to terrorism departed on those flights.
