What is it about the Family Guy? I have a love-hate relationship with it. Well, a love-indifference relationship. I don't watch it much. On one hand, the gag-type jokes -- mainly in those excrescent flashbacks -- are forced, lazy, dumb, derivative, and not funny.
On the other hand, the character-driven parts of it can be very funny. I've heard Stewie spit out a musty Victorian insults a hundred times, but I still giggle when he calls someone an "Applejohn," whatever the hell that is.
And on one hand, Seth MacFarlane too self-consciously "pushes the envelope," often resulting in "outrageous" moments that don't shock so much as they annoy. When someone's obviously, studiously attempting to shock you -- like Madonna -- it feels far less like an entertainer trying to please you and more like an entertainer trying to please himself over how "wicked" and outre he is.
And on the other hand, sometimes he really does push the envelope so far you enjoy the giddy thrill of disbelief that yeah, he went there, or that he managed to get that past Standards & Practices.
How sick is this?
Oh, I guess it has to be said that The Simpsons has been implying that Bart's gay for years. Homer too, I guess, though his gay moments really don't seem to imply he's gay so much as he's stupid and capricious. I think he just forgets he's heterosexual from time to time.

You guys know the weird connections MacFarlane has with 9/11, right? The episode that's never aired anymore and his seat on Flight 93? Maybe, he's lost his mind since then. I do normally watch it, though. Even with the heavy handed anti-GOP bias. At least South Park is fair.
Oh, and leave it to the Beloved Troll to fall back on the standard DNC talking point; "you're gay".

There's a scene where Brian and Stewie are at the kitchen table and Brian demands Stewie explain to him how the Flat Tax doesn't favor the rich. Without waiting for an answer Brian uses a fork and knife to cut Stewie's favorite teddy-bear's head off as if to eat it.
I guess that kinda makes Stewie a rightie.

If you actually wanted to use your brain while laughing it's probably not for you. Certainly doesn't hold a candle to the supernova of South Park.
Oh, and I want to note that Bart Simpson's voice talent is actually the biggest Scientologist in the world. She gave then ten million dollars last year. To help people. Not ten million hot pockets for Ethiopia. Ten million dollars for e-meters. Whatever.

I really enjoyed the first 3 seasons of Family Guy, back in the good old days when Stewie was out to take over the world and put an end to that infernal woman's gynocracy, but it was never quite the same after the cancellation. Season 4 was okay, but I lost interest towards the end and quit watching. I did enjoy the recent Star Wars knock-off, Blue Harvest.
