— Ace This new cat The Therapist is a pretty funny guy.
See, especially, this bit of fun at Peter Jennings' expense, and this fake article suggesting that Bill O'Reilly's "lookin' out for the folks" has caused Egypt to move towards allowing elections.

Here's something that, hopefully, we can all (or most) agree on. Tonight PBS is running a wonderful bio on my hero, Nat King Cole (and his Trio). They're even interviewing his brother, Eddie Coles (Nat's name was originally Nat Coles).
Sorry about the loose shit, Ace, but this is a really wonderful moment for me.
I'll even set aside my nasty rantings towards Cedarford for the moment. Music is something that can smooth even the most divisive of opinionated people. And Nat had class; he'd rise above this arguing and encourage us all to enjoy the music.
Kind regards to all,
KCTrio

Sorry, my lefty radar isn't functioning properly. Can't these people run a quality show without the pleadings for more, more more?
I understand the need to plug TV shows, but why do they do it in such a way that it looks like a Jerry Lewis telethon? I never thought of it this way, until now. Instead of humbly asking for money, they make this big plea for help from a drowning man:
"We're about to die and need funding for this special operation procedure that will keep us alive. We have a rare disease and we are suffering; there's only one doctor in the world that can save us. But he won't perform the operation that will save our lives unless you give us this money now. And the doctor also informs us that we need to give away these cool tote-bags in return for your life-saving donations."
There's something simply slimy about the whole charade. I know that PBS only receives a portion of their funding from taxpayer funds, and they rely on private and corporate donations to fill the gap, but isn't there a new way they could do this. They've played the same song and dance for 30 years now. There's got to be some consultant out there that could teach them the art of fundraising.
Sigh. I can't stand it.
Another loose shit, off topic message from the Ace of Spades HQ menace,

I'm the one who derailed this thread off-topic and threw in the PBS rant.
I am sorry to both you and Ace for being off-topic.
By the way, Therapist, your stuff is absolutely superb. Very funny, indeed.

So, if LA County slides into the ocean, it's Bush's fault too ...
Money quote:
"The Democrats don't have a prayer until Monterey County, on up into San Francisco. Hopefully the erosive nature of this disaster has latent, electoral sympathies."
This is rich ...
