— DrewM Looks like Daschle has a bigger problem than not paying taxes on the gift of a car and driver.
He didn't report consulting income and claimed charitable contributions that didn't qualify. All in all he had to pony up an extra $140,000 in payments and interest.

Tom Daschle is the poster boy for Liberal Twats. Simpering cock holster in the flesh. He got his walking papers handed to him 4 years ago. And now he's back. Nah. The One has touched them. They have repented and will sin no more (until April 15, 2010). He has cured them of their lack of patriotism and they are now cleansed and ready to accept Him into their hearts as their personal savior and will go forth and spread His Word (socialism) the the masses (as long as the masses are not white, skilled professionals or construction workers).

If he'd just appoint every fellow Democrat he knows to his Cabinet and let them get vetted, the collective total of back-taxes, fines, and penalties to correct all the forgetfulness might put the U.S. back in the black (so to speak). He doesn't have to appoint them, just let 'em get vetted.
Most ethical CongressExecutive ever. Thanks, NancyObama!

#34 Worst. Administration. Ever.
But I might add: Worst friggin President ever. Makes the Carter Presidency look like a walk in the park. While they are busy naming streets and schools after The One at this early stage of the game, let's see what his reputation will be (even amongst his Followers) after 2 months, 2 years and 4 years. I strongly suspect he will be highly radioactive in a very short period of time, especially after he throws one of his narcisstic temper tantrums and the MSM won't be able to cover for him.

Why is everyone so shocked? These are sleazeball politicians....that means they are crooked. They don't pay their taxes...they just want to raise YOURS. It's a big club and only they are members...but you get to pay the dues without any benefit or say whatsoever.
Anyone who bothers voting anymore is nuts. They lie to get elected....or they cheat to get elected. Does the name ACORN mean anything to you?

I thought we were rid of this asshat a few years ago when he got voted out. Fucking guy is like gum stuck on your shoe.
He's a Democrat, no matter how incompetent and unelectable, we're only rid of them when they assume room temperature.
Posted by: jarod at January 31, 2009 12:08 AM (A23Gx)
According to Joe Biden "it is patriotic to pay more taxes." So it is unpatriotic to only pay what you owe at the present tax rates. What does Biden call those who refuse to pay what they owe? Tax Cheats!
We have tax cheat Charlie Rangel, Chairman of the House, Ways and Means (the taxing committee) who doesn't pay his taxes, tax cheat Timonthy Geithner, Secretary of the Treasure (overseer of national tax collections) who didn't pay $34,000, and now we have tax cheat Thomas Daschle, Secretary of Health, who didn't pay $128,203 and has to pay an $11,964 interest penalty.
Where is Ted Kennedy to shout "Social Justice requires higher taxes!" I know, the Fiji Islands is where he keeps his family fortune in non-taxable accounts.
No wonder we are some of the highest taxed people in the world, Democrats are tax exempt. No wonder they are always screaming for higher taxes.
Who said King George is dead? It's time to have another Boston Tea Party....TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION IS TYRANY.
Posted by: rachel at January 31, 2009 12:25 AM (4gHqM)
I think someone should propose a law requiring Obama to nominate each and every one of the Democrats in Congress to one cabinet post or another. Think of all the money we could raise if they just paid the taxes they owe.
Then we could start in on Senate appointments for all those millionaire socialites like Carolyn Kennedy that support them...
After all, paying taxes, patriotic, you know.

Then, motivated by guilt over it, and of not contributing properly to the government they trust to structure the world, they crusade for higher taxes. They're convinced that everyone else is doing the same thing and needs to be penalized.
Then they cheat on the new taxes, too.
And the Left give less to charity, too, but want to be forced to benevolence through taxation. And that no one else can be trusted to contribute to charity, either.
Liberal projection runs very, very deep.

Obama & Cronies, Inc., give up your excesses before propagandizing coercive sacrifices from taxpayers.
The same with municipalities, universities and school districts bitching about cutting services in order to meet their budgets. ONLY CUT THE TOP ADMINISTRATIVE PAY SCALE and let the fat cats go if they don't like to work for significantly less. There are plenty of qualified people willing to take and perform those jobs at the lower salary.
Posted by: maverick muse at January 31, 2009 02:45 AM (v0oaz)
Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Daschle's degree was in Political Science and he served in our military as an Intelligence Officer.
Daschle served four terms in the House of Representatives, and in the Senate as Minority Leader serving on the Finance and the Ethics Committees, and a two week stint as the Majority Leader.
Don't tell us you don't know the laws, Mr. Lawmaker Lobbyist.
What gluttonous bloodthirsty swine Obama herds.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Obama won't be damaged by these individual incidents but this just one more "paper cut" that a year or two from now, when taken in aggregate with all of his other crap, will cause him some trouble. Someone mentioned that this was intentional to rid O of possible rivals; I don't think so, this is just pure incompetence from O and his staff not being up to a job; all with a little help from a fawning media. I wouldn't worry about this affecting O long term because I think it will at some point.

But even as he moved to confront the economic crisis, Obama was facing a new political distraction -- the disclosure that Tom Daschle, picked to spearhead U.S. health care reform, failed to pay more than $128,000 in taxes. It was the latest glitch in Obama's effort to complete his cabinet and focus on top priorities,
It's just a glitch. No reason to do anything about it.

the HP Mini 110 battery have limited battery life. This lifespan rely on its use as well as its maintenance. For example, on average a 6-cell HP Pavilion dv4 Battery, can power up a laptop for 2 hours in a single charge.
