Who Had the Worst 2013?
— Ace

Apart from Obama and Obamacare, the obvious choices.

Freddoso names Detroit, the Gun Control Lobby, Abortion and both the Tea Party and Establishment Republicans as having a year nearly as bad as Obama.

You know who had the worst 2013? Alex the Chick did, or at least she will have after watching this Vine Video.

Thanks to @slublog for that horrible thing.

14 The Tea Party had a bad year? Really?

Despite having the media, the liberals, and the RINOs all contemptuously shitting down their necks, the Tea Party did do one absolutely necessary thing: forcing the short-term government shutdown over Obamacare. Futile but symbolically key.

Putting down that marker gives huge forward credibility when, as Obamacare continues to implode horribly, the Tea Party can say that, hey, _we did everything possible to try to stop this disaster_. Including taking on the weak-kneed members of the Beltway establishment GOP who didn't want to even put up the pretense of resistance.

The No. 2 official at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, who supervised the troubled rollout of President Obama’s health care law, is retiring, administration officials said Monday.

The official, Michelle Snyder, is the agency’s chief operating officer, in charge of day-to-day activities and the allocation of resources, including budget and personnel.

Technology experts who built the website for the federal insurance exchange, HealthCare.gov, reported to her.

Ms. Snyder is the second administration official to depart since problems with the website frustrated millions of people trying to buy insurance and caused acute political embarrassment to Mr. Obama.

The chief information officer at the Medicare agency, Tony Trenkle, stepped down in November to take a job in the private sector.

Marilyn B. Tavenner, the administrator of the Medicare agency, said Ms. Snyder was retiring this week “after 41 years of outstanding public service.”

Why does that bring to mind …

"Through nearly a dozen hearings, we were frankly trying to fix something that wasn’t broke. Mr. Chairman, we do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and particularly at Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Franklin Raines." — Maxine Waters

156 A story for AlextheChick:

Several years ago, as I was cleaning up around the yard out by the shed, I noticed a tiny *thing* --seemingly suspended in the air.

This *thing* caught my attention due to the fact that it was changing before my very eyes:  It seemed to be growing.  Very slowly.  Expanding, and the sun's rays made it glow with a golden hue.

I stood there, mesmerized-- watching this golden, glowing, expanding ball.  How beautiful.  How breathtaking!  Now sparkling as tiny golden bits expanded outward.....

OH SH*T!!  It was spiders hatching!  OOdles and thousands of teeny, tiny little demons coming to destroy me and take over the yard!

I came to my senses, realizing that their advance was actually fairly slow---I opened the shed and grabbed the can of "Raid" from the shelf.

PSSST!!!  PSSSST!  PSSSSSSSSST!!!

And the ball stopped expanding, turned slightly darker.  And dull.

Gone, all gone-- the little bastards were finally dead.

And I lived happily ever after.

170 off topic, but nuts on the attack (from gateway pundit):

St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce and St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch threatened to bring libel charges against those who spoke out falsely against Barack Obama. The Obama goon squads were formed. Now this…

City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce is establishing a DUI “no refusal zone” inside the city limits of St. Louis. Starting today, drivers may face a blood test without consent if they are suspected of driving under the influence.

[and]

In Cape Girardeau County, an officer arrested Tyler McNeely in October 2010 for suspicion of DUI. McNeely refused to take a breath test. An officer took McNeely to the hospital and had his blood drawn, without a warrant.

Eight of the nine Supreme Court justices said that action violated the suspect’s fourth amendment protection from unnecessary search and seizure. Justice Sonya Sotomayor stated that police must first seek a search warrant for that blood. It looks like city officials plan to do that, each and every time a suspect refuses a breath test.

I must have missed that.  They have been doing that here like forever.  You must take one or the other.  If you refuse both you are considered the same as drunk and punished accordingly.  They do it under the implied consent rule.  If you drive on public roads you are agreeing to take either one test or the other.
