#Vindicated!: Anthony Weiner Announces He Will Not Be Suing Ace of Spades For Defamation
— Ace

Whew!

Well, he doesn't say that, exactly. But when we have confirmation the police have not been contacted, and Weiner is "loathe" to purse a "pranking," well well well well well, I tell you I just sighed a sigh of vindication.

You want a lawyer to advise you on the next step? The next step, after you've been the victim of a serous crime? You need advice on the next step?

How about from a blogger? Let me tell you the next step, free of charge:

CALL THE COPS, ASSHOLE.

I know, sounds crazy, but there's all sorts of precedent and caselaw on this sticky fact of law.

You're "loathe" to pursue this any further?

I bet you are.

And now it's "prank"? We went from #Hacked!, which well-nigh demands law enforcement intervention, to #Pranked!, which conveniently does not?

All that happened?

What a weekend. What a blessed weekend.

Yeah, don't call the cops. Do exactly what I predicted you would do two days ago: Retain a private firm to "advise" you. People you pay and control.

To say what you want them to say.

Damn, too bad the FBI doesn't have that kind of pay-for-play deal, huh?

Sure, I said he'd hire a private security expert, and he will do that; but for now, he's got himself a lawyer-- not to protect himself, you understand, just to suggest he might sue people for saying there was no hack.

Um, bluff called, dude. As Derek Hunter said:

Victims call cops.

Perps call lawyers.

So, thanks for the confirmation, feller.

As a funny Tweeter said (sorry, can't remember who), calling the police would only result in the classic horror movie reveal: We've traced the hack! And the hack is coming from... INSIDE THE HOUSE!!!

What are you doing here? Do you know how young this girl is?
I have an explicit tweet here -- no, let me show this to you.
It's a picture of a penis. Is this your penis?
What did you think was going to happen here?

Corrected: I got two ideas mixed up. In fact, CNN reported there was no police involvement, and that Weiner was "loathe" to pursue it. That was not the full foreswearing of LEO involvement I suggested. But... close enough.

Distraction? You have something better to do, punk, than bring down the "Teabagger" bloggers who "hacked" you? Isn't that your whole job? Isn't that what you do day-in and day-out in those stupid YouTube videos where you peacock around for your lefty moron fans?

Really?

The worst part is that if it turns out we're right and Anthony Weiner has to confess to his sexting sins, none of the reporters who took his side, ignored ths story, mocked Ace and others for following up on it, will lose and face or be embarrassed in any way.

It happens everytime. Stories break not only without there help but in spite of their best efforst to squash the story, yet they remain the gatekeepers of the truth and people like Ace and Breitbart remain untrustworthy extremists with agendas

There will be a junior staffer who confesses and resigns, on Tuesday. Then the story will be semi-dead except when it can be used to paint Weiner as the victim of yellow journalists, Ace and Breitbart.

I hate using this quote as it is one of the most overused quotes but the reports of the MSM's demise are greatly exaggerated.

The last tweet before the “lewd” one had this for a hash tag: #Thats545InSeattleIThink

For the “hacker” to pick her out is pretty creative.

Weiner:"I was hacked. It happens to people. You move on."

It was 3 hours between the #Thats545InSeattleIThink and the lewd tweet... the lewd tweet was instantly deleted and then Weiner frantically belts out 4-5 tweets about Hockey... does it take 5 minutes to move on from a hacking episode where someone tries to embarrass you by putting out lewd photos in your name?

It's a shame we haven't given him more credit for that prior to this.

I don't think anyone is saying he committed a crime. It's not a crime to have an extra marital affair, it's not a crime to send the person your having an affair with a picture of your erection in a pair of box briefs, and its not a crime to lie and cover it up.

We're not trying him here. All that's being said is that if a crime was committed and hacking a Representative's Twitter and Facebook account is without question a cyber crime, then why isn't he filing a report?

Could it possibly, just possbily be that if this is looked into we'll find out it wasn't hacked but rather a lame off the cuff excuse?

And while we're at it: who the fuck does Weiner think he is to say what's a "distraction" to LE or the press -- or the general public? It's their JOB to investigate this kind of thing, not ignore it.

Plural possessives may be a distraction to the rest of us, but to professional editors they're fascinating as hell and they're food on the table.

The NY Post...

Despite the quiet holiday weekend, Capitol Hill was buzzing about what quickly became known as Weinergate.

Some DC wonks were skeptical of Weiner's hacking story and questioned the lack of a police report about a crime as serious as Internet identity theft, a Washington insider said.

The uncertainty was also fed by Weiner's decision to quickly delete the posted photo -- and every other photo connected to the account.

Every time this jerk appears on TV, I want whoever is on with him to insert random words while he's talking.  Like "liar", "POS", etc, etc..

First he makes up a bullshit Goldline 'scandal' with Beck that everyone knows was made up.. but nobody does shit.  Jesus, they even had congressional hearings over it!  All that money wasted.. just to fulfill this sick mans overinflated view of himself.  He even slandered the Better Business Bureau by claiming they accepted bribes to give Goldline an 'A' rating.  He should be in jail not in congress

This latest stunt should make Twitter mad as hell.  I'm sure people will be hesitant to use it knowing it can be 'hacked' whenever.  haha of course thats bullshit, but I'm hoping and praying for major blowback from this crap.  If Weiner gets away with this, it'll prove karma doesn't exist.  We can scrub it from our language.

Actually, no. It's presumed that he sent this lewd tweet until proven otherwise. Tweets don't send themselves. They are sent by the holder of the Twitter account. If Wiener is claiming it's a hack- then that must be established. Until then, we are given to assume he sent it.

Weinergate was mentioned on CNN's American Morning today.  I wasn't fully listening at the time but caught that it's all an allegation by a conservative blogger at the end (the beginning was Weiner's prank allegation).
