— Ace This is old, but still funny. French-Canadian bashing never gets old.

No. It. Doesn't.

Good stuff good stuff. I like the street sign bit. Allways fun to make fun of people who allready have a well deserved inferiority complex.

Eventually this circumstance resulted in me getting hitched (by choice and for 30+ years now BTW). My late Father in Law was a WWII Canadian Navy radio signalman, who clearly remembered forwarding the message "Bismarck sunk" (!).
He told me that during the war, Quebecers didn't want to serve (there was a draft), and they argued that they could contribute more by being sort of a mini-"Arsenal of Democracy". Truth is many were Nazi sympathizers (including to some degree still debated, the young Pierre Trudeau).
So my FIL says the boys in the Navy came up with a
slogan for this great proposition, and sent it to some union guys in Quebec, who actually made a motto of it and had it on banners, etc.! Well, briefly.
The Navy boys even suggested a specific phrasing in English for comsumption in the rest of Canada:
"Give Us the Tools and We Will Lick'em!"
Now, it took quite a while for my FIL and I to quit ROFLing, especially as we were about halfway through a bottle of Lamb's Navy Rum - drinking it straight.
Later when we were alone, my young wife admitted she did not get the joke, which she had heard more than once in the past.
Always loving to a fault, I explained the nuances of it to her in great detail. And to make sure, there was a pop quiz, which she aced!

PM Paul Martin appointed a Governor General who use to party with and abet terrrorist seperatist murderers.
The (former) lib government over there was really giving Banana republics a run for their money.
Personally I think they'd all be better with Quebec anyway, although the seperatists seem more tolerable then the libs. I'd love to see the frogs find out how much their bella province depended on protectionist policies subsidized by the other provinces for economic survival.

Hating Quebec is a full time job, for us Canadians.
The worst thing is bi-lingual everywhere, except Quebec where it's french-only.

Did you ever hear the Toronto radio station spoof "I am Joe, and I am Canadian" that became "J'mapelle Guy, and I am NOT Canadian!"
Come to think of it- when I get home from work, I'll send it to Ace...maybe he can pop it up on the site.
I married a Calgarian... best move I ever made (even if I do have to grudgingly pull for the Flames every now and then).

Yeah, they speak French. But they ARE NOT anti-American. (at least not any more than your average Canadian) They are anti-Anglo-Canadian, and from I've heard, the feeling is mutual. Most of the Quebecois feel that their tax dollars (the area is rich in natural resources and shipping) are being unfairly siphoned off to support the less productive states.
Yeah, it takes a little effort to figure out how to order your coffee or poutine in French, but once you do that, you're golden.
And their women are super-hot.

Jim - you've got to be kidding... maybe you should study the transfer system designed to suck money out of the rest of the country to send to those Queerbec flakes. Heck... Alberta just fired out 12 billion this year so you could still enjoy sucking on that poutine while you decide which side of that white flag you want to raise.
