1 Good Morning Morons.  Today is Friday, May 31, 2013.  On this day in 1678 Lady Godiva is said to parade naked through the streets of Coventry in protest of her husband’s high taxes.

Lets hope Moochelle doesn't get any ideas like that.

20 Proving gun grabbers never sleep, New Jersey is set to begin the nationalization of gun owner data. First on the agenda is the banning of weapons. New Jersey is set to ban .50 caliber rifles, rifles that have never been used in the commission of a crime in the United States. The biggest danger on the gun grabbing agenda is the scrapping of the firearms id card and moving to an id that is tied to your drivers license. The firearms id card is required to purchase firearms in new jersey and is filed with your town, now this data will be encoded on your drivers license. Drivers license data is considered public and New Jersey like every other state provides drivers license data to the national transportation safety board which would create a backdoor national gun registry. Other liberal states will quickly follow new jersey if this is allowed to pass with the goal of having a 50 state registry. This is a call to action for new jersey morons. The bill has already passed the senate so its time to call your house representatives and demand they vote down this clearly unconstitutional law.

Morning, ‘rons and ‘ronettes.  If any of the Horde ride, I hope you are able to this morning.  It was a beautiful commute for me and let me forget for twenty-odd minutes the tinpot Tito infesting the White House.

Today I’ve got three short stories about three comics:

Buster Keaton:  In 1925, Keaton (then under contract to MGM, where he was very unhappy), hired the famous writer Robert Sherwood to come up with an original screenplay.  Sherwood put pen to paper and very quickly came up with a story about a young couple in New York who make their way to the top of a sixty-story building under construction when they discover that the elevator has stopped working for the night.  The only trouble was that neither Sherwood nor Keaton could think of an interesting way of getting the couple back down again, so the idea was abandoned.

Thirty years later, Keaton ran into Sherwood in the lobby of the Savoy Hotel in London.  “Don’t worry, Buster,” Sherwood called to The Great Stone Face, “I’ll get you down from there yet!”

Harpo Marx:  Although sometimes overshadowed by the verbal pyrotechnics of his brother Groucho, Harpo was a gifted comic in his own right.  The trouble was that, since he didn’t speak, he had to keep thinking of things to do in order to keep Groucho and Chico from stealing scenes away from him.

During the stage run of The Cocoanuts, he paid a chorus girl to run across the stage so that he could chase after her, leering and honking his horn.  The first night this happened, Groucho didn’t bat an eye; he just looked at the audience, said, “The nine-twenty’s right on time,” and went on with his scene.  Harpo’s chase brought a big laugh, and once he got off stage, he told the girl they would do that every night.

After the show, one of the stagehands took the comic aside.  Did Harpo know, the grip asked, that the girl he was chasing was gangster Jack “Legs” Diamond’s current squeeze?

An ashen-faced Harpo quickly found another girl for the scene, but kept paying Diamond’s friend for the rest of the run.

W.C. Fields:  Fields was filming Tillie and Gus in 1933.  In one scene – which happened to be filming after eleven o’clock at night – Fields was supposed to be in a diving costume when something goes wrong.  He would be hauled up out of the water, presumably half-drowned, and gasp the line, “Is there a doctor in the house?”  Everybody thought this was a funny line, and audience reaction later proved they were right.

But for some reason, Fields kept changing the line.  On the first take, he came up out of the water, pointed at his flippers and muttered, “Primo Carnera’s carpet slippers.”  The director chewed Fields out, but the comic shrugged.  “Why, that’s funny.  Everybody knows about Carnera’s big feet.”  But of course, another take was called for, and it was now getting close to midnight.

On the second take, Fields came up, pointed to his flippers again and said, “Charlie Frobisher’s bedroom slippers.”  When the director called him on his ad-lib, Fields looked genuinely puzzled.  “What’s the matter with you?  Don’t you know the name ‘Charlie Frobisher’ always gets a laugh?  People will howl  at it.”

The director shook his head as the scene was readied for a third take, now after midnight.  He had never heard Fields do such bad ad-libbing and wondered if the alcohol had finally made him lose his touch.  Fields was sent into the tank again, and this time, on coming up, he spoke the proper line.  But very soon, it was clear that Fields had by no means lost his touch; his contract, it turned out, paid him $800 extra every time he worked past midnight.

And there we are.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

The overweight thing is one of the most subjective measures there is.  According to most height/weight charts, I would be considered slightly overweight.  According to my doctor, I am actually a few pounds lighter than he wants my target weight.  I trust him more than some bureaucrat who made a chart.

38 "Ride," we talking horses or motor cycles here? Does MP3 do a Wilbur Post commute?

On the other hand, you have

"A spirited motor bike, with a touch of blood in it, is better than all the riding animals on earth, because of the hint -- the provocation to excess -- conveyed by its honeyed untiring smoothness."  T.E. Lawrence, of Arabia and later Sussex.

He'd know; he'd ridden a whole herd of borrowed or stolen horses, camels, onagers, and depending on which of his critics you espouse, an Arab or three. But that smoothness thing, oh Jesus. Military issue at the time was a 1000cc BSA V-twin, saynomore, and his personal mount, the one that killed him most likely, was the "Brough Inferior" with a J.A.Peters V-twin, the engine that made Woolf Barnato's parallel twin Triumph seem even-tempered and reliable.

The charts are bullshit.  They haven't been updated since WWII, when they were devised from...measurements taken of US Army volunteers.  The "average" became the "normal" became the "ideal" with no actual research.

BMI is also bullshit--no difference for gender, for fuck's sake--with no actual measures of health like body fat percentage or blood pressure.   "Normal BMI" does not immunize you from teh diabeetus, and "obese BMI" does not make it a certainty.  But that's what we've been reduced to.

Lebanese Shi’ite group Hezbollah has ordered Palestinian Islamist group Hamas out of Lebanon effective immediately, the Middle East Online news agency reported on Thursday.

The move, the report says, is due to Hamas support for the opposition forces fighting to oust Syrian President Bashar Assad. Both Hezbollah and Syria are allies of Iran, which provides the two with financial and military support.

Oh, but they have, several times. I've watched in fascination as my 6'2", 225 frame went from "upper tier" to "overweight" to "borderline obese." I've scarcely changed, but my status has. 76 WWII records used to set the "normal" were set on men coming out of the Great Depression,  you know,  that time when people were eating a meal once a day and eating stuff like head cheese and horehound candy and working long hours at physical labor.

The only one I know who comes close to the standard is my blood pressure doctor,  who I think eats boiled chicken and salad for every meal and runs marathons.  I bet I could pick that guy up with one arm.

79 Back in the sunny, happy days before children, I got control of what I was eating and got down to an extremely-svelte 167. Unfortunately, BMI sez the top for my 'normal' is 155. Fuck that shit. I'd never make it unless I lose a leg. Then Wife got pregnant and I went right back to 193...which, now, is only a memory.

Oh, a panhead!  What I wouldn't give for one of those.  Unfortunately, stately Poppins Manor only has room for one bike.  Of course, in my fantasy world, I'd own one of those Hogan's Heroes bikes with the sidecar, so I could carry my golf clubs or my dogs in it.  There used to be a factory in Hong Kong that refurbished old WWII bikes, but I don't know if they're still in business.

But hey, since we're talking fantasy - if I'd won that Powerball loot, one of the things I'd have done is contact Ford: "Hey, you guys built the car for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, right?  Pull out the blueprints and build it for me.  Here's a check."

83 According to most height/weight charts, I would be considered slightly overweight. The charts are bullshit. They haven't been updated since WWII, when they were devised from...measurements taken of US Army volunteers. The "average" became the "normal" became the "ideal" with no actual research. Agreed. 6' 0" male - 155 - 160lbs. That's high school weight & I looked like an Ethiopian refugee then.

BMI  -  The last few years I was on active duty the Navy said they'd discharge me if I went over the BMI index.  I have a light bone structure so I was weighed every 3 months to make sure I was in compliance.  Couldn't weigh more than 167, they wanted me to be at 154 for "ideal".  I'm 6'2" and had to run 10 k every day and really watch the diet.  Turns out the Navy numbers were generated by a Beltway Bandit outfit that got their input data by measuring the Marines at Camp Lejune.  Good cross section there you betcha.  On flight physicals I couldn't weigh more than 214 or I'd be too heavy.

110 There is a reason the GOP is often called the "stupid party." Although every poll finds the public firmly on the center-right side of the political spectrum, the GOP has become expert at alienating voters on issues they ought to command. On Thursday, the Republican State Leadership Committee, tasked with electing Republicans to state office, announced via press release that it was launching a program with a set quota of recruiting 200 minority candidates for office. Yes, the GOP wants to help its standing with minorities by establishing a racial quota system.

Teej-I'm small boned too.  I have lost weight recently, and did not need to. It's stress. I knew I lost weight but now I'm 91.6 and I'm going to have to make myself eat even though I'm not hungry.

My brother has been in the hospital in Maine and almost died.  He had four strep infections. He survived the infections but now he can't move his legs and can only use his left arm. He's in an acute rehab now. I have asked for prayers for Paul on the ONT, but haven't lately.  He can't move because one of the strep infections was in his neck and the surgeon had to remove and fuse three discs.  Surgeon told me that it would be weeks before we would know his full neurological results. Now it's been five weeks since surgery.  He's been in the hospital or rehab since March 30.

Will everyone who is inclined, say a prayer that Paul can walk?

Thank you. Carol

Morning, all!

So I just read the article linked at Drudge about the 3rd grade boy forced to perform oral sex on three classmates.   I have officially given up on humanity.

The ringleader -- who was a fifth grader, and who had been accused of touching a fellow classmate "under her skirt" TWO YEARS EARLIER -- sounds like a real prince.  I expect he'll end up shot dead in an alley before he's 20 years old.

173 My brother is a few inches shorter than me but about a foot wider. He's been overweight, to varying degrees, his whole life. When he's at his trimmest he looks barely overweight but weighs way more than me even though he's shorter. He has to weigh more than me because of how he's built. Does the BMI take skeletal structure into account? The charts I've seen all just match height to weight. My brother was in a nasty car crash that according to the doctor cracked every bone in his face. The doctor said when he first looked at his facial x-ray he thought he was looking at the x-ray of a gorilla. Every bone in my brother's face was at least twice as thick as a "normal" human's face. The doctor was amazed and told bro that if he had a regular head they'd have had to pull his caved in face out like they do in a car body shop. So how in hell can BMI be worth anything?

181 The women who convert to Islam are the same sort of women who end up with abusive boyfriends/spouses or controlled by pimps.

There is nothing to be done about such types unless they recognize this tendency in themselves and get professional help.

However, it does seem to me that someone should be trying to figure out who got the woman to go to Syria,  since she was divorced from her husband.

223 4 If you like your healthcare you can keep your healthcare. Another Obama lie. Almost all Americans are overweight so standby for a sharp increase in premiums under the new Bama rules. http://is.gd/i3VIDX

I'm an insurance agent and I have to admit I'm taking a perverse glee in explaining What Hath Barack Wrought to clueless clients, I twist the knife extra hard if I know they're a lib or they comment about "free health care next year" or some such, all while maintaining a totally professional demeanor and a butter-wouldn't-melt-in-my-mouth innocence.

"Well, Mrs. Mouthbreather, after January one you'll have to purchase a qualified health insurance plan on the exchanges or pay a fine. For example, a Silver level plan will probably cost your family of 4 in excess of $20,000 next year. (*gasps*) Now the PPACA limits that by offering you a subsidy to help cover that (*relief*). Generally speaking, your premium is limited to 9.5% of your income (*calculating in head*), any premium amount in excess of that will be returned to you by a tax credit (*dawning realization*). Yes Ma'am, that means you have to lay it out, but you'll get it back when you do your taxes. Now the coverage a Silver plan gives you hasn't been finalized, but it'll probably be 70/30- you pay 30% of your medical costs and the insurance picks up 70%- but the good news is that there's a cap (*hope*) You have an out of pocket maximum each year of twelve thousand five hundred dollars (*absolute shock as she adds all those figures together*) Do you have any further questions?"* I smile sweetly and in my head I'm screaming "NOW who the fuck do you wish you'd voted for you idiot?" I take a special joy in answering "No" to those clueless morons who stammer "But...but....but.....it's supposed to be free!". Then I go over it again, emphasizing the premiums and out of pocket costs "TWELVE THOUSAND, five hundred dollars EACH YEAR". Hey, they voted to fuck up my industry and basically end my career w/in a couple of years, they deserve to find exactly how hard and fast they're going to get what they voted for, don't they?

* That's a pretty fair generic summation of how the exchanges will work, realize that not much of this is finalized, and the individual variations are endless.

242 There is a move to in GOP ranks to start being all about "equality of opportunity" vice just "liberty" (or, for a certain older style of GOP, doing favors for friends and saying it is for economic growth). And I must admit this new emphasis leaves me cold, though I should be enthusiastic for it. And I think it is for the following reasons: 1.) The youth are getting too carried away with the idea that someone else is wrong if something hasn't been delivered to them (youth) on a silver platter. There is a character and self-reliance issue here--I don't mind "opportunity", but as being delivered it seems suspiciously close to paternalism. The youth will get used to a patron being responsible for his success, and will be a little too loyal for a republic's health. 2.) A lot of injustice to non-favored ethnicities can happen under the equality of opportunity rubric. And will, because it is going to morph into what it already is--equality of outcome, or, as I like to call it, "back of the bus, cracker." Certainly a white heterosexual male who comes away these days thinking society really loves him as a unique and special flower is seeing stuff I haven't. Or so it seems to me. 3.) Finally, when I think of what I could be--the things I know I could do well, right now, have done well in the past--when I think of the man I could have been and realize the only person fighting for that chance is myself, and that I will probably fail, and then when I think of the positive impacts I could have on society while never truly getting what I want (partially because others expect me to be happy with the script they wrote, not the one I did)--well, as I said, the entire equality of oppirtunity thing leaves me cold, for while I do not demand someone gift wrap something for me, if they can't bother to do it for *me*, in part because I am plain vanilla, I'm not really interested in doing it for anyone else. Young folks want to fly their wings. To which my response is "Yeah, me too."

265 Now, I'm not a fan of the so-called Constitutional Right to Privacy, but at least this parent is fighting back. Well, there is a "right to privacy." That's what "secure in their person and their papers" means. Now, there are a lot of things it doesn't mean (no- there is no right to abortion in the Bill of Rights), and it only protects you from the Government (that is: your employer can send you for weekly colonoscopies if they want, since that is a voluntary relationship). That said: the public schools are government. But we (as a society) decided long ago that school children aren't even human, let alone US Citizens. They have fewer protections than some animals.

269 Old Economy Steve: The Official Meme For Embittered Millennials -- The Atlantic "boomers had it all too easy" In some ways, perhaps. But not in all. Rather, this generation of kids growing up have had it WAY TOO EASY with the freebies throughout live given that "everyone's a winner, there are no losers." Easy for boomers? Easy to claim from ignorance, all those who didn't live through the military draft, the riots of the 60s, recessions in the 70s and 80s hitting blue collar middle class the hardest. Not everyone's job is union in right to work states. College graduates in the 70s couldn't find work and were told to stay in school until the economy improved. By which point, more bubbles burst along the path of life that ain't no rose garden unless you're "made" like an elitist. Been there, done that. Kiddos, get a grip on reality. Yes, political and economic corruption are nothing new. However, what's "new" to America is the COMPLETE CORRUPTION of our society and government by authoritarians who abuse, "BECAUSE I COULD." There's never going to be enough money to buy virtue from corruption. And there will always be more than enough money for the elitists to maintain their monopoly on power. So when there's a real defender of truth, justice and the American Constitutional Way, you'd better protect that leader and that caucus with your voice, and convince your local precinct, town, county and State of voices with you. Our American frontier tradition is not of having anything handed to us. Our nation's formation was not of having anything handed to our founders beyond SELF DETERMINATION from their parents, grandparents who immigrated to the New World looking for some freedom from political/economic/social oppression expressed via burning at the stake, beheading, the hangman's noose, the sword or cannon in battle. /Gulliver witnessed war on which end of the egg to crack. Natural Rights. Everyone has it. And we're living in the USA where those rights are recognized as God Given, innate. All the more reason for abusers to feign no such thing as Bill of Rights or Constitutional Governance. THEY don't abide with it, SO YOU CAN'T HAVE IT. Do ask, who uses self determination, and to what end. And admit that the public at large is on (prescription or otherwise) drugs clouding their mind so that they don't have to think about "it" [whatever troubles]. Who has it too easy? Congress. The Executive Administration. The SCOTUS, AG and entire Judicial Branch. Global Corporatist Board Members. Too easy to what? To revise according to their own self interests which overwhelmingly are NOT in the interest of supporting and defending the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. Rather, the interest in maintaining abuses of power. And promoting wars on whatever makes a profit of blood money.

Yes, since ACA was but a gleam in Obama's crazy eyes, I have been telling people that their insurance premiums are going to go up anywhere from 5 to 12 times the cost they were paying.  How do I know?  I work in IT for a health insurance company.  It's that damn math again--THE F@CKING MONEY HAS TO COME FROM SOMEWHERE!

In other news, everyone is quickly figuring out that the exchanges are going to be a horror to build, astronomically expensive, too confusing to use, and will be ignored by the LIVs because they still know in their heart of hearts that they can get their health care through the emergency room.  How expensive?  We budgeted $100,000,000 for our exchanges in the four states in which we do business and it is not enough money.

305 BMI was designed as a measure for population studies - if it is applied to a single individual for any purpose, someone is being stupid.

Why is the stupidity so widespread, then?

I think just because BMI is easy to calculate. It doesn't mean much - but it IS easy to calculate, and looks like actual SCIENCE. I mean, it takes math and everything.

On related note, I read Gary Taubes' "Why We Get Fat (and What to do About It) about 30 pounds ago - interesting read from a science writer who did a pretty thorough job looking into the history of nutrition and weight loss research.

322 WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Consumer spending fell in April for the first time in almost a year and inflation pressures were subdued, pointing to a slowdown in economic activity, which should allow the Federal Reserve to maintain its monetary stimulus for a while.

Consumer spending down? In this supercharged economy how can that be?

(Reuters) - A drop in government spending dragged more on the U.S. economy than initially thought in the first three months of the year, although consumer spending looked relatively resilient to Washington's austerity drive.

Oh I see, it's all that austerity that's slowing down the economy.

Timon;

To remove a kid from public school requires that you can either afford to place them in a private school or, at least one parent can be devoted to educating the child at home.

I dont know about you but we had 4 kids that went through public school and we made sure every one of them had the opportunity to get into the 'advanced program' which was really just a moniker for the program that taught the content you and I learned in school and not the minimum ed syllabus designed to boost the schools score on the TAKS test. (Texas has standardized testing program to evaluate kids and schools; its an advancement test for the kids and a rating for the school).  Both the girls graduated early but the boys just slacked. The boy's are paying for it now by taking remedial math and writing in college.

Just had my hands on an article the other day about how it isn't fats/cholesterol that cause heart disease. It's simple carbs (white flour, sugar et al). This low fat diet we've been on for the past 25+ years is steadily killing us. Every time they take fat out, they add carbs. Because fat tastes good and sugar almost does. A little fat satisfies and lasts. You need a great deal more simple carb to satisfy and it doesn't last--you are hungry again quickly.

359 EC! Tell our story!

My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos. Ruined dreams. This wasted land. But most of all, I remember The NoVaMooMe. The people we called "Morons". To understand who they were, you have to go back to another time. When the world was powered by the dark liquid. And the desert sprouted great cities of pipe and steel. Gone now, swept away. For reasons long forgotten, two mighty Morons went to a bar and touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without hooch, they were nothing. They built a house of straw. The thundering Morons sputtered and stopped. Their leaders talked and talked and talked. But nothing could stem the avalanche. Their world crumbled. The cities exploded. A whirlwind of looting, a firestorm of fear. Men began to feed on men. On the roads it was a white line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The Morons took over the highways, ready to wage war for a barrel of beer. And in this maelstrom of decay, ordinary men were battered and smashed. Men like BCochran and Washington Nearsider. The Moron Washington Nearside, in the roar of an Ette, he lost everything. And became a shell of a man, a burnt out, desolate man, a man haunted by the demons of his past, a man who wandered out into the wasteland. And it was here, in this blighted place, that he learned to live again...

361 200 Hey MWR, just to complete your irritation/rage....you see the story on Drudge about the schools in my lovely state of Florida that were scanning students irises and informing parents about it afterward?

Posted by: BCochran1981 at May 31, 2013 08:55 AM (da5Wo)

Further on Florida -- on the 20 year welfare illegal immigrant video they also talk about "private" navigators employed throughout the state to advise of all government assistance programs and reach some stupid benefits goals. On the fence about Scott.

Feeding tubes at Gitmo.  Hmmm, nutrition  through  tubes and liquids to restrained people.  If I wasn't Catholic I could make a few medicinal suggestions.  But I am.  So, I won't.  But I could.

362 Gah. I'm sorry. Are you doing okay now? *frets* Posted by: alexthechick - SMOD. Mmmm. Blondies. at May 31, 2013 09:34 AM (VtjlW) Aw, thank you. Yeah, I'm ok. Initial dangers are easily overcome. Low blood sugar? Go eat something. Get some carbs in you. It's the resulting bounce that's awful. Lots of diabetics describe the effects of the bounce back up as being worse than those of hypoglycemia. Massive headache, nausea, generally just feeling like hell. I'm currently also feeling like someone took a 2x4 to the side of my face. Apparently I was clenching pretty damn hard. Eh. Such is life. 27 years and counting of the joy of Type 1 diabetes. Whatcha gonna do?

364 My cholesterol is high at 241. It should be under 200 from what I have been told. The LDL is 170. The Dr was not pleased with those results and wants to see me again in 4 months. What can I do in 4 months to lower cholesterol?

"At 5' 11" - 150lbs was a good weight for me. Small boned (okay, have at it) though."

Also 5'11", but haven't weighed 150 since 9th grade when I was almost that height. Varsity athlete in HS, and minored in pickup basketball (2-3 hrs daily x 5 days/wk) in college, graduated college at 205. Which made me "obese", I believe.

Conclusion- those "ideal" weight charts are hokum and blunderfaff.

I just went to  Breitbart website. TFG said we don't need a special prosecutor for IRS Scandal. We need Special Prosecutor for all the SCOAMF scandals. Four that I can think of off the top of my head, IRS, James Rosen,   F & F and, Benghazi.  AP reporters too.

I hope the special prosecutor does to them what they did to Scooter Libby!  Ruin their lives!

Exercise.
Switch from a high saturated fat diet to one with more mono-unsaturated fats. Eat more fish and less fatty meat.
Eat more vegetables and less simple carbs.

370 I hear ya. We've recently officially declared our state's exchange a no-go for 2014. It's going to be a pretty epic open enrollment clusterfuck later this year.

Posted by: akula_51 at May 31, 2013 09:26 AM (YesJa)

See that is another of the dirty little secrets, the health insurance companies are REQUIRED to build an exchange if they want to sell insurance in the retail business space (individuals).  Well, since most companies will be dumping their plans and giving folks a few hundred bucks to buy insurance--it is all going to be retail.  So state governments are saying to themselves, "Why should we build an expensive exchange and then be forced to maintain it ad infinitum.   The health insurance companies HAVE to build them, so we will piggyback on them.  The health insurance companies have no recourse since the State Insurance Commissioner is their ultimate boss."

373 What can I do in 4 months to lower cholesterol?
Posted by: Truck Monkey at May 31, 2013 09:41 AM (jucos)

Eat more nuts.  I also started eating Kashi's flax seed granola bars.  I also did the fish, etc.  My triglycerides went down 100 points in one year while my LDL also went down and my HDL increased nicely.  Just had the blood test on Wednesday.  I never had a cholesterol problems, just slightly higher than normal triglycerides along with a slighlty lower HDL than is optimal.

The LDLs are the worry. that's where fish and mono-unsaturated fats will help.

New business? Broker? Running a fleet? 3rd party?

Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at May 31, 2013 04:56 AM (O6Tmi)

375 370 The health insurance companies HAVE to build them Luckily we're a Caid/Care Advantage payor, so we get to watch these commercial shenanigins from the sidelines another year. We did consider a move towards that market, but maybe next year...lol. Who knows what happens with Medicaid expansion down here in FL at this point.

379 What can I do in 4 months to lower cholesterol? * Avoid dairy products. Use cholesterol free substitutes. * Eat oatmeal every morning for breakfast. * Take Niacin. * Eat a psyllium based fiber supplement daily. * Exercise. Those are the main ones. There's undoubtedly a few more I forgot. I dropped over 150 points in six weeks using the above regime.

I hope you all have a nice day.

Sherry McEvil, I blame Romney for Obamacare. I live in MA and Romney started it here.

382 Almond milk. Almond flour. I love almonds. So much healthy fiber. They have been a huge part of the 75 or so pounds that has melted away the last sixish months here. Wifey and I recently found a line of low carb tortillas (3g net for the small ones, 6 or 7g for the large ones - epic) and are literally in heaven. I make pizzas, wraps, tostadas, all kinds of shit that was previously verboten in our low-carb lifestyle with these. They have some corn ones too that are around 4g net iirc...planning to do some low-carb enchiladas at some point soon with those.

383 Truck Monkey,

One more thing, Omega 3s.  That means salmon or a supplement.  I can't do the straight fish oil softgels, they upset my digestion.  But, I just tried the Krill oil and they did not bother me.

Do an Internet search on "Eating to raise HDL" and "Eating to lower LDL".

385 380 Full employment as far as the eye can see. HIPAA, better known as the "Permanent Healthcare EDI Consultant Act of 1996". It has been a pretty good little run here with that somehow luckily winding up being my core competency. I'm glad I didn't get into something truly worthless like journalism.

387 What can I do in 4 months to lower cholesterol? Posted by: Truck Monkey at May 31, 2013 09:41 AM (jucos) Eat more nuts. I also started eating Kashi's flax seed granola bars. I also did the fish, etc. #If you're serious about results in four months... Before bed, take a shot of organic apple cider vinegar with LECITHIN (Sunflower rather than Soy, especially if you're male). My dad-in-law was obese with horrible blood pressure, and did lecithin after the Dr.'s Rx proved more detrimental than helpful to his health, and subsequently to my spouse's health as well. We've been doing it for maybe 20 years with helpful benefit to digestion/metabolism, along with psyllium husk fiber. Good oils are a necessity for the body. Avoid land critter unnecessary fat intake. Cook and bake with coconut oil, best for brain cell and tissue reproduction as well as for the digestive tract. (Our moms cooked with Crisco. Their moms cooked with Lard.) Partake of the good olive oil and seasonings with servings of veggies (cooked greens and potatoes) and (brown) rice for nutritious metabolism. Weight management, avoid glutenous wheat which messes with your digestion and metabolism, being the hardest to burn off stuck in the gut. Good health maintenance, avoid ingesting meat raised on hormone and antibiotic supplements. Eat organic produce to avoid ingesting the poisonous pesticide residues absorbed during growth which cannot be washed or peeled off the surface. Years ago, my better half had most of the digestive tract removed, barely surviving the septic that set in after fucked-up surgery and subsequent series of hospitalizations due to complications. Diet details matter just to get through each day, as food allergies get combined in complications.
