Good morning. Some headlines to get you started:

Oppo firms get ready: super PACs, campaigns have to disclose donors to the FEC today. This will also likely inaugurate another news cycle on the "dangerous" effect of money on politics.

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) intends to introduce a “Buffett Rule” bill in the Senate. Here's a Forbes writer on why the Buffett Rule is a really bad idea. On the bright side, once it has been introduced in Congress, the CBO can be asked to score it, something President Obama has desperately tried to avoid.

1 Good Morning Morons. Today is Tuesday January 31st. On this day in 1606 Guy Fawkes was executed for treason via the traditional method of hanging, drawing, and quartering. Guy Fawkes Day is celebrated in England on November 5th. Note the man, but the fact that the plot failed and he was executed.  Here we have knucklehead commies who celebrate him by wearing a facsimile mask while shitting on police cars and throwing prophylactics at school children. Yes, we’ve come a long way baby.  Also on this day in 1940 Ida May Fuller received the first Social Security check. She lived to be 100 years old. She contributed roughly $24 and collected approximately $23,000. BTW, she was from Brattleboro, VT.

Don’t forget, although officially today is supposed to be the primary day in FL, what it is is primary completion day. They have been collecting votes for weeks now. Too bad it isn’t end of all primaries day and we can move on and pray for a miracle from the convention.

4 Woman fighting to run for office in AZ but is barred because she does not speak English “proficiently”.  Can you smell another ACLU case coming here? Will the VRA or CRA be modified to prohibit English tests now?  But the real question is why can’t she speak English proficiently since that is a requirement to obtain citizenship?  The answer to that is that most likely she got citizenship via one of two methods, her mother running across the border at 8.9 months or amnesty. Amnesty not likely since she would have to be a lot older. Of course, she may have also just been passed on the English test by incompetent immigration officials.

So GD idiots buy these big snakes, decide they are too much trouble to take care of and then turn them lose in the wild where they have no natural enemies. Of course they will multiply like sand spurs in a vacant lot. But this has been going on for a long time so why the big story now?

Mornin' Vic. One of the more amusing things I've noticed about this election cycle is that conservatives and Tea Partiers determined not to allow the MFM to choose our candidates once again have been led around by the nose until we arrive at the candidate the MFM (and Soros, and the rest of the progressive commies) prefers. Well, it would be amusing if it didn't involve the end of the republic that is.

30 This so-called Buffet rule is nothing new. In fact we already have a "Buffet Rule" that was enacted back in the reign of commie LBJ.

It was called the alternative income tax. It has never worked for what it was designed to do (at least what they said it was supposed to do). What it is doing is now causing the poor bastard middle class people to depend on congress for another GD temporary fix.

We voted to repeal it once,Clinton vetoed it. We went to repeal it again back in the Bush years and asshole siding with McCain blocked the vote in the Senate.

Thank you RINO bastards and the assholes in AZ who voted that shit back in.

Sarah Palin is right.  The republican elite want to wrap up the election and it's better for the country if they don't.  I'm not a hypocrite, said up front I didn't like romney, haven't been convinced to like him.  Huntsman is very knowledgeable in foreign policy.  You can't take that away from the guy, but that doesn't mean that he resonated with people for the preidency.

There are no anti romney phone banks.  There are phone lists to get out the florida vote.

WABC radio in New York carries him. KFI in LA carried him for a while after Matt Drudge's radio show ended, which is how I found out about him.

Problem with him is that he'll interview someone and dribble out the interview in drips and drabs over the space of a week or so. Frustrating on three points: 1) If it's someone interesting, it takes a week to get it all. 2) If it's someone boring, it takes a week to get rid of it all. 3) If you listen a lot, you're constantly going "haven't I heard this already"?, which is why I gave up on him.

Stop and think about the sheer contempt for the American people in claiming that number.  Why not just say a billion?  It's just as accurate.

84 India isn't the only billion dollar Iranian crude customer making arrangements to continue purchasing without the Almighty Dollar as the US chokes the Turkish transfer of funds through US interventionist policy.

Nixon terminated what connection with gold the Dollar yet had, as if maintaining the "value" of the Dollar by enforcing global oil purchase requirement in Dollars.

Very bad move, should the US Policy choose to bully India, denying India crude supply (Iranian source purchase), punishing India for any attempt to purchase crude with the Rupee.

India currently purchases crude from Iran and from Saudi Arabia. "As Aluf Benn commented in Israel’s Ha’aretz (Feb. 19, 2002), a U.S. official reportedly advised the Israeli government to 'lay off Saudi Arabia. It’s not your enemy….Saudi Arabia may be extremist in religion, but it is politically very moderate, and it’s important not to act against it.' ” Btw, "politically moderate" is limited, only so long as the Saudis get their extremist way, given a completely open berth to globally monopolize, the Saudis will smile while they play you, bleeding you dry.

A worse "American" Policy would award the Wahhabi Saudi's the monopoly supplying the Indian crude oil, as if Saudi wealth doesn't either conduct (fund) nuclear research or have direct access to nuclear weapons. The Saudi recognition for the legitimacy of Israel is based upon U.N. Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338, which also formed the basis of the September 1993 Declaration of Principles (DOP) between Israel and the PLO, that undergird the Oslo peace accords, requiring the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian State of 1967 occupied lands in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

I was painting the master bath yesterday so I got to hear uninterrupted the entire Sean Hannity show (ugh). He has on Romney, Santorum, and Newt in that order. Santorum, maybe because I couldn't see him or his sweater vest, sounded the best to me but I can see how he would freak out anyone to the left of far far right. Romney sounded ok but a little weak on some of his responses. Newt sounded angry and sorta nuts. I was really surprised at just how hostile and awful Newt sounded. Hannity was asking Romney and Newt both about how brutal the Florida campaign had become and Romney's responses were sorta measured. Newt sounded really wild.

(BTW, don't start with that Mittbot shit. I don't fucking like Mitt. I liked Perry and would be fine with a brokered convention with someone like Paul Ryan coming in at the last minute. I'm no big fan of Mitt. I do think Newt is to Newty to win against Obama and will become more of a pariah as the weeks go on.)

He is one of the best interviewers I have heard on the radio though. One thing he does that I wish more radio hosts would do is to mention the name of the guest often, and why the guest is being interviewed. Speaking with John Smith, author of A Book I Wrote.... And he obviously reads the books or articles or whatever that are the cause for the interview. He is able to draw out interesting stories from guests who may not be the best speakers. But, he was at his best on War on Terror topics, I thought, and, well, that has really moved on, hasn't it? His voice is good to go to sleep to, though, so I often will turn him on with the sleep timer.

On that tangent I suspect the wife's husband could have a bad reputation, as not "everyone" is always guaranteed a job if they eat boogers in meetings, or are slackers and their work ethic follows them. Maybe he can be a czar or Barry's new iReggie).

143 John Batchelor used to be a novelist who wrote a couple of pretty good books: The Birth of the People's Republic of Antarctica and American Falls. The viewpoint was leftist but more ambiguous than usual for writers at that time. He wrote a modest bestseller "Father's Day" written as he said in an interview to be a best selling thriller because he needed money for her daughter to go to college. It's pretty much "meh". His other books aren't worth reading in my opinion. But BotPRoA is near great. And "American Falls" is near great. It suffers from the author liking his main characters too much. Very well researched. I'll bet thought that Martin Scorsese read it and used details for his "Gangs of New York" movie.

156 5 This is why these so-called BRAC bases closings have turned into a complete failure. Also, why there is so much waste in the military. -------------------------------- Could not access your link Vic, but I know the Army is "closing" two bases in Germany and sending those troops home. Only, the bases aren't really closing. The Army will still operate them as "training facilities". What a joke. You just can't spell "EMPIRE BUILDING" with the letters d-i-s-m-a-n-t-l-e.

157 Jane,

Son called from Afghanistan

He called, from the warzone.
Always look on the bright side.

Mental note: Call Mom this Aft.

I know.  He immediately got hold of his dad on Facebook and said "Mom couldn't hear me."

Damn.  At least I know he's okay.

159 I'm in the middle of a total shower tear out/re-tiling project in our guest bath. When I say middle I mean 6 months since I started. Lots of company coming soon so I need to get busy. It's amazing what little stumbling blocks one finds in a house 60 years old owned by successive tradesmen. Lots of old school DIY. That's my excuse anyway.

160 >>>Yeah, I guess you could hoist someone up by their neck NUMEROUS times and torture them in between before you kill them. Yep, that's exactly what they did. Strangle you for a while and then cut you open, pull out your guts, burn them, cut off your genitalia, burn them, too. That is the type of punishment the 8th Amendment prohibits -- not this crap that the insertion of a needle is too painful.

Nah I have to work, too much to do.  When you guys start to go off the reservation it gets boring, I'm not the only one who leaves.  You make it feel like a gossip fest for a bunch of post menopausal fatties.

164 it's back poor thing...you have to work? you shouldn't admit that.......

Oh yes, I'm sure you have a lot of work to do.  Those links don't post themselves, amiright?  And oh....the radio shows.  You have so many to listen to, while claiming you don't listen to them.  That's time consuming.  And good Lord....talking to all your friends, taking notes so you can come here and tell us all what they said.  Damn...oh and the anti-Romney phone call list!

How do you do it!?

Posted by: Tami at January 31, 2012 05:32 AM (X6akg)

166 Awww, "it" is back.  Don't let the door hit you in your fat ass.

<<Brian Williams, shocked at the picture of Arizona Governor Jan Brewer pointing her finger in the President's face, asked last week, "who have you ever seen talk to the President like this?">>

He's the President, not the King, you elitist bitches.

Yes....it's our busy, busy, busy 'curious'.  Who is so, so, so busy that she makes the top 10 posters lists.

Perfectly legitimate excuse.  We have always bought houses that were "handyman's dreams".  Our biggest obstacle was always fixing other peoples' projects.

174 133 Is there something wrong with honest work? ----------------------------- You say "honest work". A Liberal hears "slavery".

Posted by: Helpful Pundit at January 31, 2012 05:44 AM (nMROO)

175 Thanks katya, now I don't feel so bad. I almost hate to get going in earnest again, because every time I do I find something new that has to be done. In other words, the more I work the further from done I get.
I think it's time for me to come up with a whole new work plan.

177 "...Strangle you for a while and then cut you open, pull out your guts, burn them, cut off your genitalia, burn them, too..."

Don't forget tar coating (for preservation) and gibbeting of the remains.  That was a Brit favorite for making examples of pirates.  Carcasses thus treated could remain on public display for decades before they finally rotted and fell apart.

Good times.

178 22 I'll have to ask for a ruling from the judges here. You did not have great sex with anyone named "Sheldon". It's the name. "Do me, Sheldon! Give it to me, Sheldon!"
----------

I can't hear "Sheldon" without thinking "Serpentine, Sheldon, Serpentine!"

179 There needs to be more vocal support of Romney from those who call ourselves conservatives. In to win with Mittster.
