The Morning Report 5/30/17
— Open Blogger

plug.jpg

Good morning, kids. Hope you all had a blessed Memorial Day weekend. Now, back to business. First up, so, totally bereft of ideas the Democrats, aided and abetted by a gaggle of illegal alien stooges, tried to disrupt the final day of the Texas legislature because they oppose the efforts of Governor Abbot to actually enforce our immigration laws. One of the miscreants threatened a GOP lawmaker who promised he'd defend himself with a gun if necessary, and so the spin is of course that the victim here is the criminal. Meanwhile, "Resistance Summer" kicks off as the national Democrat Party is openly vowing what is tantamount to sedition. Keep it up, and they'll have their wave election in '18. Only not the way they anticipate. Some other positive links: PDT will probably withdraw from the Paris Climate nonsense and is set to reverse the insane Obama Cuba policy. Lastly, there's quite a good blog post from American Thinker about how bureaucracies not only exist to stop alleged discriminatory practices but are staffed with scores of people whose mission is to seek out alleged violations (or invent them if they have to). That there is a yuuge reason why you got Trump. Drain that friggin' swamp, white boy (ear worm alert). Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

1 Is this thing on?

22 This morning, during the final day of the current session of the Texas state legislature, the Texas House was considering a bill to punish so-called "sanctuary cities." The Democrats had been fighting the bill for hours, and there were lots of protesters in the gallery. When the protesters were loudly disruptive, the Department of Public Safety began to remove them from the gallery. (You can see video, and a more or less live blog of the events, here.) That's when the fun began. Apparently, state Representative Matt Rinaldi (R-Irving) announced that he had called Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on the protesters. The Democrats apparently took this badly. https://twitter.com/MattRinaldiTX/status/869269896365998080/

.They don't have any "force" to use.  Germany's military is a joke and the only Country in the EU with a sizable Military is the UK and they are already leaving.

Every single one of them has been wrong.

BTW to the lefty white wymyn, the left shut down the taco stand of two lefty white wymyn because of "cultural appropriation" and now they are having a fit over this. 101 I will say this: my former co-worker is a great example of immigration done right, and I say this despite his leftist politics and the fact that he undoubtedly votes Dem. He came here LEGALLY on a student visa. Stayed with an aunt and uncle. Finished high school and went to college here. Smart as can be. Well, book smart. He IS a leftist. Applied for citizenship. Got his own place and a nice American girlfriend. Got a job, got his citizenship, THEN married his nice American girlfriend. At no time whatsoever was he a drain on the American taxpayer, took no advantage of any "free" shit at all and he did everything legally and by the book. If we're going to have immigration, that's the way to do it.

If I had to guess at the future: The downside to an education will get worse until it breaks the whole damn thing. His wife is richer than Croesus and there is no reason for him not to go home and play with grandkids other than his hyper-inflated ego. He hates America and Americans who interfere with his and believes only in his own elitist superiority.

He seems to only be interested in bombing things that he doesn't personally like , damn the national interest.
He has no interest in doing anything that doesn't aggrandize and inflate the legend in his own mind that is John McCain.

"My handshake with him, it's not innocent," Macron said. "It's not the alpha and the omega of politics, but a moment of truth."

And also how Trump shoved the PM of Montenegro out of the way.  President Trump appeared to move aside the Prime Minister of Montenegro while at a NATO summit in Brussels, Belgium.

I also saw on YouTube a reporter described  Trump and the Pope and the mistakes Trump made.  Silly, it was nearly a frame by frame critique of what happened.  Dumb if you ask me.

In reality it is proof that the number of protected classes keeps increasing and that the bureaucrats are out looking for claims to justify their jobs.

328 294 I'm pretty sure they want a European Army. Posted by: ScoggDog Of course they do. Creating an empire by open military conquest failed repeatedly so they tried it by diplomacy and deception. Considering the sorry state of the Continent even a token army might be enough to do the job at this stage. Posted by: Brother Cavil, Abbot of St. Costello-on-the-Hurlingbone at May 30, 2017 09:17 AM (AM1GF) ============== I hope they do raise an army. Anything approaching big enough to actually act as a defensive force will destroy their ability to pay for massive welfare states. It'll be entertaining, to say the least.

330 277 Huh, I thought Sophia Coppola winning best director at Cannes was nearly historic, as it's only the second time a woman has won this. But she's "elitist" because.....? They gonna go after every Hollywood spawn who's leveraged a family connection now? Posted by: Lizzy at May 30, 2017 09:12 AM (NOIQH) Absolutely - It's only fair!

331 Laura Ingraham was on Fox this morning she had a big yawn about the Dubke resignation. She said this kind of stuff is normal early in a presidency and Trump has said he wants a bigger communications department to handle the fake news and help get his message out better.

337 Clearly he wasn't the establishments first choice and he does tend to be his own worst enemy at times but I look for motivation. What exactly would Priebus' motivation be for destroying a Republican president, not to mention his own job, after he worked for years to put one in place? Posted by: JackStraw at May 30, 2017 09:20 AM (/tuJf) The best thing about games and sports is that both sides have a simple, mutually agreed upon definition of "winning". I think Priebus is loyal to the Party above all. So would he have tamped down a Convention Revolt to save the Party ... at the price is accepting a candidate he thought would lose the general election ? Would he take a cabinet position to try to "handle" said candidate after an upset win ? At some point, would he go ahead and usurp said candidate - whom Priebus views as an unmanageable mess - with an eye toward replacing him with someone else in a primary ? I don't know these answers. But I do know Priebus's motivations could be much different than mine.

338 I just watched that Evergreen video. Good Lord.Thank God my kids are out school If I had college age kids today I would steer them toward a trade before wasting their time (and my money) on this worthless crap. It sure has changed since my last child (and myself) graduated from College. I was a STEM major (Chemistry) and my daughter was a business major.

339 And how is this not the direct consequence of all the "white privilege" training that's all the rage? Of course it is. The schools train these radicals to be turned on society. Of course, as the creators, they get burned too. Gutting higher ed needs to be a top priority. All it takes is one equal protection case.

340 >>I don't know these answers. But I do know Priebus's motivations could be much different than mine. I assume everyone has a different motivation from mine and yours for that matter. Question still remains, what would Priebus gain by hurting Trump, himself and the Party? If Trump's presidency goes down in flames his Chief of Staff is going right down the tubes with him and so is the Party. For better or worse, Trump is now the de facto head of the Republican Party and the Party's fortunes are tied to his fate. If Trump goes down, cui bono? The left and the permanent bureaucracy in DC. That's where I'm looking for the leaking and bogus stories coming out of DC.

It's certainly possible - if not probable - that the GOPe sees shit-canning Trump as no more than a necessary tactical withdrawal. A short-term setback. An Establishment variation of Let It Burn.

343 The Beguiled with young Clint Eastwood was a good movie. Can't wait to see how Sofia Coppola updates the storyline. Posted by: Cosda at May 30, 2017 09:32 AM (PJxqt) The Eastwood version is good. But, I can see how this movie could easily degenerate into a grrrrrrrl power/wymyn needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle thing- which seems like it would hit all of the SJWs "like" buttons. This has the whiff of another project from Hollywood meant to shore up - the now Shambling Zombie Corpse of the Hillary! Presidency. I suppose we're going to have to put up with the Cultural Aspects of the SZCotHP for at least 2 more years, but "The Beguiled" may not be that. Here's hoping Sofia Coppola is more of an artist than a political hack.

344 There was a time in European history where small groups of people would travel from village to village playing simple instruments and singing for tips from those in the villages. It was called the menstrual period. I think we need to bring that back.

I think many of them are smart enough to remember what happened when Nixon went down. It was not good for any Republican and led to Carter. We'll see. Sooner or later it will all come out. Always does.
