The Morning Report 11/30/16
— Open Blogger

raul.jpg

Good morning, kids. First and foremost, prayers for the people of Tennessee. Stay safe and hope your lives get back to normalcy quickly. So, old and busted: Make America Great Again to new hotness: We Have to Pollute the Swamp to Drain the Swamp?? I mean, Elaine Chao and Steven Mnuchin? And then there's Romney and G-d help us Bob f**king Corker. Whatever Bannon, Priebus and Pence are thinking, the optics are, to be charitable, sub-optimal. But at least Alison Camerota is here to show us how utterly disgusting and unwatchable television is. Have a better one and remain blessed.

Don't know much about Mnuchin, but Choa is mixed.

She was originally appointed as a Deputy Secretary of Transportation under RINO "read my lips" Bush - I and she is married to McKonehead.  However, she was a senior fellow with the Heritage Foundation.  So I say "mixed".

And both her and Romney are still in the "rumor" category

36 Two lesbians advertised on Craig's List for a sperm donor. Some guy who lives off SS disability benefits answered the ad, and they paid him $50 for his sperm. They used it with a turkey baster to get one of the lesbians pregnant. A couple of years later, one of the lesbians runs off, and the remaining one applies to the state for welfare for the kid. The state (Kansas) then goes after the father for child support. The father says "hey, I was just a sperm donor." State says too bad. Under Kansas law, if you donate sperm for a doctor to use for artificial insemination, you're off the hook as the daddy (unless there is a written agreement that says otherwise). But in this case, no doctor was used, just a turkey baster, so the state said the sperm donor should pay thousands in back child support. Case went to trial, and the judge ruled in favor of the sperm donor. Spermy got paid $50 for his sperm, but he's probably on the hook now for $40k (or more) in legal fees to fight the paternity suit. Probably wishes now that he'd stayed on the couch.

38 Morning, 'rons and 'ronettes. I'm a little dry on new stories just now, so I think I'll just post pictures of random hotties from the days when a well-turned ankle would put the snap in Grandfather Poppins' braces. Today, it's Gaby Deslys. A French stage star, she was famed in the early part of the 20th century as a danceuse and singer, making, at the height of her career, $4000 per week. Wiki calls her "renowned for her beauty," but IMO, it's an odd Gallic type of beauty that is either there or not, depending on the photograph. She was known as a very high-maintenance sort of lady (as you might expect) and counted King Manuel II of Portugal among her lovers. She's also said to have owned a luxurious (and no doubt yuge and classy) carved and gilded bed inspired by the "Grotto of Venus" boat in Wagner's Tannhauser. If you believe this - and I can't vouch for the truth - then you can still see the bed today; it's Norma Desmond's bed in Sunset Boulevard. Deslys caught the Spanish flu in 1919 and died the next year from complications caused by surgery. Here's a formal portrait of her: http://bit.ly/2glee6J And as for this picture, all I can say is, Mmmm. Daddy likes!: http://bit.ly/2fCzHRd

The Dems are already initiating legal challenges to every single state that requires its electors to be faithful. This is an all out assault on the EC, and it's far from over. As always, the Dems are playing the long game. By the time Trump is up for re-election, they want the popular vote to decide the POTUS so they can run up the score in CA and NY and win every election. To which I fully expect the GOPe to say: "Sounds fine to us."

60 More noos.  Today is Wednesday, November 30, 2016.  On this day in 1804 the House began the impeachment trial of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Chase.  The House had approved 8 charges of impeachment earlier.  The charges were that he was allowing his political leanings to effect his decisions on the court, which he was.  He was appointed by Adams and was one of the judges who sought to make the Supreme Court the ultimate decider of the Constitution which Adams wanted for a more powerful Washington and Jefferson did not. And the Senate at that time also had its version of "RINOs" and the impeachment failed because it was not covered by Scottish law.  And that ultimately led to where we are now with a liberal court dominated by politics instead of the Constitution.

61 Trump is already doing some good even though he is not in office yet.  Unlike the Choom he has not made up a podium with the office of "Presidential Elect" on it and speechified on how he was going to "set things right".  Instead he is going to Indiana Thursday to announce a "deal" with Carrier to keep 1,000 jobs for the air-conditioning giant in Indiana.  This could be a sign of things to come with our economy which has been mired in Great Depression - II since the incompetent communist took power.  And unlike FDR, Trump will not have to wait for a massive World War to break the depression.  The "Forgotten Man" has been remembered.

Of course, the law is a fiction used by the ruling class to keep us serfs in our place. Ultimately what matters is force of arms and the will to use them. Obama is just the most recent tyrant to demonstrate that. History is full of other examples.

69 Even going Galt in CA will not save you from the Democrat plot to radicalize CA into a commie hell using the AGW scam.  They have enacted a new law that requires dairy farmers to collect all the cow crap and put it in methane capturing tanks.  The methane will then be burned to produce electricity through some magic process that does not produce CO2 or CO.  We call this new age science the "shitific method". And it will work too as a year from now after Trump shows that we have been cooling for over a decade they will point to this as the cause of the cooling.

71 Newt says there are three things that he learned as SOH under Reagan when they were trying to drive back the liberal overreach of DC.

The principles I learned working with Reagan and applied as Speaker seem to be universal for those who would enact deep, profound changes. They are:

1. The "normal" will try to convince the leader to be "reasonable".

2. Solving symptoms feels satisfying and is an easy substitute for solving the real, underlying problems.

3. The urgent drives out the important.

He doesn't mention the 60 vote roadblock the Democrats will use which the Republicans will not fight.

72 A new group of lawyers announced Tuesday that it will provide free legal services to refugees in Utah who are harassed or bullied and fear that the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump could put in place a ban on Muslim immigrants or a registry to keep track of Muslims living in the United States.

The Refugee Justice League of Utah is a non-partisan group made up of people from differing religious backgrounds and has about 50 lawyers ready to represent the refugees at no cost, said civil rights leader and co-founder James McConkie.

Why is it that you NEVER hear of a group of lawyers who specialize in defending the Constitution and the Second Amendment for "free"?  I know that is what the ACLU claims to do, but it doesn't.  And don't believe this free shit.  Like the ACLU they will seek to recover legal "costs" after they win a case through jury stacking and judge shopping.  That is where the ACLU makes it's money.

President Obama says both he and first lady Michelle Obama will be "very active" in working with people at the grass-roots level to support progressive causes once he leaves office. But despite her popularity and natural public speaking ability, Michelle isn't interested in a career in politics.

Right, she and her worthless communist hubby are not interested in politics.  Only in pushing the agenda of Karl Marx through the grass roots racist ground game, just like he did as a "lawyer".

Yes this CT politician was afraid that a direct election could create a dictator.  Yes, like what we have now.

They also refute the claim that the EC was created to protect slavery and they explain the real reason for the 3/5 clause that the liberals rave about and are always wrong on.

91 Heritage talks about Jillie's effort to force recounts.  And they have a statement in their article that supports the claim that the whole thing is a scam to cause no candidate to get 270 and force the election into the House.

If states are required to do hand recounts, some are concerned it would hold up certification, and prevent either candidate from collecting the 270 Electoral College votes needed to ensure victory.

But now we know MI has recently done their "certification" so that plan is out the window now.  (yesterday's link http://fxn.ws/2fumHNe)

94 This came up on the ONT on the recount issue.

Also this from a discourse on the electoral procedure act of 1870.

How to Count to 270: The Electoral Count Act and the Election of 2000

The somewhat circular phrasing may make it less than obvious, but this provision embodies both a substantive and procedural standard. Substantively, the provision states that if a state submits only a single return, its vote(s) cannot be rejected unless not "regularly given" or the electors not "lawfully certified." Procedurally, it states that the vote(s) cannot be rejected unless both houses agree they were not regularly given or the electors not lawfully certified.

So again the question is moot.  PA votes have been legally certified. . .unless BOTH houses of congress say they are not.

The state could appeal, and there are good arguments in its favor. The point of the state law requiring a doctor to be involved is so that guys who knock up women can't get out of child support obligations by claiming that the woman artificially inseminated herself with the guy's sperm. After this judge's ruling, you know there will be deadbeat dads who will claim this. So the state has an interest here in getting this ruling reversed. Get alumni together to write letters condemning every communist club at the university.  Make sure they know how deeply offended you are that they peddle that kind of horsecrap.  Once they start seeing alumni donations and new student enrollment drop as parents encourage their kids to go to anywhere but their school, they'll get the message.  Or they'll go out of business.  Either way, win.

While I am not mandated to do this under the law, I feel it is visually important, as President, to in no way have a conflict of interest with my various businesses. Hence, legal documents are being crafted which take me completely out of business operations. The Presidency is a far more important task! But it's quite realistic to acknowledge a lot of women marry men based solely on power and/or wealth. The examples are too numerous to list. Only one couple pops into my mind where there seems to be real love, but the guy is...let's just say not a looker: Rick Ocasek and Paulina Porizkova. The subsidy is reduced over the coming year so that the first month is at the original price (free for many). Second month subsidy is reduced 9%, third month 18% , fourth month 27% etc.. and the price rises accordingly until there is no subsidy. The questions are moot.  PA has certified so here suit in WI will not cause it to go to the House.  And the House lawyer above said that both Houses must vote to "de-certify" an elector.  Today is the deadline for WI to certify the election. But the electors certify their votes in their letter to congress.

This crap about Dems winning the senate vote needs to be blunted. First of all not all states had senate elections so it is in no way a national vote when CA is included and TX is not. Secondly the CA senate election was between 2 Dems. Dems are arguing that the team with the most yardage or first downs should be the winner, or the team with the most men on base, or the most rebounds, or the most shots on goal. The Dems are rule challened and Coons whiny, flawed logic puts it on full display. Trump won & HWNBP.

190 I'm a dick. A private dick. A hard-boiled one. They call me Spade. Sam Spade. This is my city. This is my story. Winter hangs low over the gritty city streets, like a dame hanging onto the end of the bar in one of the joints over on 35th Street on her fifth whiskey sour of the evening. Stopping beneath a single grimy streetlight across from a rundown strip mall I turn my collar up in a vain attempt to block the bone chilling wind. Snapping my Zippo I manage to breathe life into my last cigarette. Tossing the crumpled package aside I inhale deeply, savoring the nicotine rush. There in the strip mall, nestled between my one room office with the simple plaque on the door and a Korean beauty salon is a shop with boarded-up windows. Late on a winter night like this, over the jabbering of the Korean manicurists' gossip you can make out a distant but insistent sound... throbbing... throbbing... throbbing. Local wise guys tell me that this office is leased by the Clinton Global Initiative and the throbbing sound comes from a bank of industrial-strength shredders. Since election night the shredders have been in operation day and night, night and day. My informer tells me they are shredding all incriminating documents and Hillary's dreams...but mostly Hillary's dreams. A smile creeps across my face as I step off into the darkness.

She is a straight shooter that I am amazed you smart hordelings are disparaging on account of her unpopular, spineless, chinless, mouth-full-of-marbles husband. Evaluate Trump's picks on their merits, not their marriage. Elaine is a great, high-energy, take-no-prisoners type who will shake up the Trans Dept and at the very least, restore honest accounting to that 98 BILLION $ cost center.

If he does the second (which no other Republican cared to talk about much) he will have met my expectations. 221 Mannheim Steamroller I won some tickets to see them last year. Hugely disappointed. Almost the entire show is pre-recorded and the band on stage just mimes. The guest singers are on crappy old video. Lots of boring home movies of MH's founder's family. The stage show itself was cheap and tacky. I didn't see anybody in the audience who was really enjoying it. On the way out, the better half said, "Well, that was not at all what I was expecting. An hour and a half of a tribute to some guy's family while some people pretended to play instruments." That about summed it up. 225 If anyone seriously thinks that the headline from Carrier was wrong, then they simply do not understand politics, or the situation we are in at all. Trump, and all conservative hopes for the future of this country, since we are all in the same boat now, depend on one single factor - returning (and keeping) jobs in the Rust Belt States. If the job situation improves there over the next 4 years, allowing Trump to claim credit for it in 2020, then conservatives will control this government for a generation, at least. If the Rust Belt states are badly disappointed and go back to Elizabeth Warren promises, we lose everything. We lose the constitution, we lose the country. THAT is what is at stake here, over the next 4 years. Fortunately, Trump understands this better than anyone. Which is why he is going to jettison any ideology that threatens to ruin that effort.

And I'll bet she could find a yuuuge chunk of change between the cushions there too. I interned for a State Senator here in MO. MODOT was far and away the biggest part of the state budget. On the other hand, if one didn't know about Bill Clinton's character, 40 years ago he was an attractive man and has always been credited with having a magnetic personality. I think he likes to charm people. People who are sociopaths or have some other major mental issues like to charm people; It's a power thing. That's different than just enjoying people not to get something out of them. So yes, I can understand someone being attracted to Bil-l 40 years ago.

251 That NYT article on Carrier is hilarious.

The way they try so hard to downplay it, like it's no big deal.

What makes it super funny is: (1) Shit Midas could have done the same thing, months ago--they excuse him, (2) If it had happened under the JEF, it would have been a completely different article--singing his praises and glories.

Hey guys, guess what? That's not just 1,000 jobs in OH--it's a million or more new votes in 2020 as these people you've sneered at for years see a politician actually getting results that benefit THEM.

Expect to have a lot of company with the people most of us have previously called out for that kind of garbage. Whether intentional or not, it's insulting and borderline misogynistic. concubine (n.)

c. 1300, from Latin concubina (fem.), from concumbere "to lie with, to lie together, to cohabit," from com- "with" (see com-) + cubare "to lie down" (see cubicle).

So, it's obviously Asian -- you racist.

And Soros got rich by working with really smart people, so the fact that Mnuchin has a connection to Soros doesn't scare me. They do two midweek services because the old people don't like to drive at night.  Heck, they should just skip the night time service altogether then because it's ALL old people.

For John Astin, Addams provided the names "Gomez" and "Repelli" and said that the actor could choose whichever he liked. 435 Speaking of concubines, I teach music lessons (I am a starving artist, one of several ways I'm a lot like Hitler), mostly for absurdly rich people in the metro area, and visited a new family for the first time the other day. Only the au pair was home and uh, wow. I said hi and was nice and I get along great with kids so it was all fine and I left and whatever. 493 I can see how easy it would be for the Feds to send a green card to the wrong address since immigrants are a mobile demographic and most like reside in temporary quarters and even when the immigrant family notifies the federal government of a change of address for the immigrant family the federal leviathan might easily fail to notify all parts of the federal government of the change of address for the immigrant family and when the Feds then mail the green card to the wrong address the newly arrived immigrant family domiciled in temporary quarters who received the green card would then report that their newly issued green card was incorrect and attempt to rectify those inaccurate data entries in the federal database. This could easily lead to confusion among all the parties involved.

How did the evangelical Christians and the LCMS meet anyway? I an fairly liturgical but I don't even get things in the Orthodox Church so I'm glad when the priest explains "I am wearing red today because it's a joyful color and we are celebrating Mary" or at Bible study,. "When we have communion the priest crosses his wrists over each other in the sign of the cross." I figure there are probably people who are Orthodox who don't even know this stuff. I did tell him, though< that i believe very strongly in open communion. He didn't say anything. He just looked at me. We didn't get into a slug fest because he's about a foot taller than I am and I would lose. ;^)

553 169 PA has certified Only about 40 of PA's counties have certified. About 30 were in process or had not initiated the process on 11/28, when the precinct requests for recanvas were made. Even Wolf, the d governor, questions if Stein's lawsuit could open the certified counties to recounts. The SoS has listed the Republican electors (probably so they would be easier to find to harass), but there are five or six counties w precincts that will be conducting the recounts (about 260 precincts). All of these counties are ones that hrc won. But, if you want to see how Trump won PA, look at the counties' votes. Multiple counties he won w 65-70 percent of the vote. Impressive.

Posted by: kallisto at November 30, 2016 06:33 AM (jkmtt)

564 The calling of someone concubine is only insulting in the eyes of the beholder. It's a post that has been common throughout human history and has often had an honorable and acceptable if not official pedigree in some cases. After all, most marriages were not for love, they were largely for alliance or wealth or standing or some other reason involving mutual personal gain. To have expected then monogamy would be cruel. As to the term being some sort of ethnic slur, maybe someone needs to read a little more widely. Oriental societies have no exclusivity for the term and indeed the root of the word is from the Latin for crying out loud. So for the hoopla about using the term being racist, completely spurious. Besides, unless she's one of those V lizards she looks pretty human to me.
